This has absolutely got to be the prettiest and most peaceful place to be in all of North Adams! It has such great breath taking views and the atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing.I had the opportunity to go when the park was closed because of the pandemic and let me tell you!I’m certainly glad I went when I did!Not a sole in sight!I definitely recommend smoking a bowling before coming here and dazing off into the tranquil waters and rocks.Five stars for you Mother Nature!
The office was closed through no fault of theirs, COVID of course. Small park with some picnic tables. The marble dam was beautiful and the marble gorge with the natural Bridge was interesting but unspectacular. A couple of short trails and a beautiful natural amphitheater shows off the old marble quarry. We werent there for it but we read that there was music from Tanglewood issuing from multiple speakers embedded in the marble walls every evening at sunset. That should be quite lovely.
Beautiful views, great for a quick outing as its a very short walk to look around. There are some picnic tables set up and a huge expanse of grass, so you can sit down for a while. Parking fees seems to be suspended during the pandemic. People there were mostly obeying the 1 group per viewing spot rule and wearing masks!
Its awesome. A lot of natural land and rock formation in a small area. The stairways down into the crevasses are awesome. Well built and safe. We went after a heavy rain so we got a treat. Be aware, the park is closed fot the season so theres no bathrooms. And we came from West Springfield near the Big E, so it was a lovely drive during leaf peeping season.
Lots is stairways to observe the gorge. Amazing white marble waterfall. Interesting history and lore of the area. Be prepared to walk uphill and stairways.
Its very quaint and cute. I dont find much of that where I live anymore so this was a breath of fresh air. Super photogenic place.
The marble walls, the waterfalls and the gorge are absolutely gorgeous. The hike is easy and rewarding. There are some really pretty photo ops.
Nice place to walk around. Not a large place. Good to have a lunch and walk through the rocks.
This place is a gem. The entrance was gated off when we visited, so it was a quarter-mile walk up a driveway, which could be challenging for visitors with physical limitations. There are two parts to explore. First, check out the magnificent quarry. At sunset, music plays over speakers - we left before then and didnt hear it, but the acoustics must be phenomenal. Then, go see the river. The water courses through caves, under boulders, and through hollows. It is really beautiful. There are stairs and walkways, and chain-link fences to prevent falls.
So peaceful and a true wonder of nature!
This is one of my favorite parks! Has picnic tables and normally it has rest rooms (not open due to COVID). Lovely for an hour or a picnic.
Beautiful park with lovely waterfalls and well marked walking paths to the top of the cliffs and marble natural bridge. Pay to park if you drive up to the lot, but we parked down near the entrance for no charge. If you go in the evening, you can experience the audio presentation that was installed by Mass MOCA. A cool place to check out!
This is a gemstone hidden in the Berkshires. Lived here 35 years in western mass and never knew this place existed. Beautiful drive along Mohawk Trail to get there. Even my 4 year old enjoyed looking around and taking the stairs into the chasm deeper.
Very pretty and interesting. People were pretty respectful in terms of wearing a mask and distancing so it felt like a nice spot to stop for lunch and see some interesting stone.
Not a large park but definitely a unique and a must see to truely appreciate the power of water to carve solid rock creating beautiful natural sculing of the surrounding landscape. Not to mention just the absurdity of building a damn out of solid marble simply because it was readily available and abundant. I was lucky to visit on a day when parking amply available and free, however parking lot did appear to be quite small and they do usually charge a fee on more crowded days.
We had a great time here. Nice family and friends outing with picnic tables available. Has some historical significance to the area and some really nice hiking/walking trails and paths. The water flowing through the chasm is very nice, but make sure to check out the old marble quarry and the marble damn. Its the only white marble damn in North America
Very cool. Good place to keep the kids busy for awhile.
Really a lovely place. Incredible view and cool marble bridge!
Lovely spot with great views, both historical and natural! Nice facility. double up the cascade trail for a nice afternoon.
Super amazing place!! Worst of visiting !!! We found it by accident and I love it!!! Especially October was amazing with all the leaves colors!!!
Amazing little state park with a water fall and a small sculpture park! Best part is to stay for sunset and listen to the 15 min sound installation playing daily
Nice little stop with my family on our way thru town. Wasnt sure what to expect. Its small and only takes 15/20 mins to walk through the areas but its quite beautiful and really cool rock formations. Also, take the kids to visit the display inside the office/ranger station. There are some cool displays and fossils. Some fun hands on things the kids can explore. Being able to touch the beaver pelt was a highlight for sure. The folks working there that day were super knowledgeable and friendly. We were happy to pay the $5
Nice place to roam around and enjoy the views of the quarry and white marble dam waterfall. To us though, the natural bridge area is not very well presented.
Amazing history and nature in one, I was surprised what a small hidden gem this is in the area. If your going to the mountain peaks near by make sure to take an hour to swing by.
This was one of my most memorable experiences in my life. The marble waterfalls and trails are so fun to explore, but the best part was the Walter Fähndlich sound installation, Music for a Quarry, that blew my mind. Perfect end to the day at Mass Moca when the sun is setting or for a romantic picnic in the evening. Highest Recommendation.
Very pretty and different. Very nice visitors center with great help from the guide. Very clean picnic grounds and well marked trails. Very dog friendly. Very pretty views.
I love that I can walk down my street to this beautiful place ️
Part of the areas natural history. Gives glimpse into the receding of the ice age. Certain areas of the stream are used for bathing during summer months. Entrance is slightly plowed during winter even though park is closed. Lets you access Pokemon Go gym there. There are also a few Pokemon Stops and I believe another gym accessible when park is open. Great place for a picnic as well. Worth visiting at least once in a persons life, an few times with children.
Beautiful scenery and nice little walk for little legs
Fun park to visit while traveling Route 2. Wear good shoes. Have fun exploring. They have a picnic area, info center and trails.
Really cool natural formations that I didnt know existed in the northeast! Lots of neat history as well
What an amazing treasure right in our backyard!
Easy walk to impressive historical and natural site.
Marble cliff, nice short hike! If you love rocks, this a great place to see glacial effects.
It was more crowded than I thought it would be on a Monday but neat place
Beautiful place
Loved it here, very quiet, and lots to see. From old buildings to the bridge itself.
Amazing place Mother Nature is truly incredible a must-visit if youre in the area
Really loved the white marble dam
Interesting spot with some hidden awesomeness
Great place to eat, staff was very friendly and professional, very clean
Paths are not marked. We just wandered around
Stunning views and a therapeutic experience ♡
Bicycled to the top and it was a steep climb but the views were worth the effort.
Beautiful park one of a kind
Amazing! Not a long walk.
I absolutely love this place! It is a beautiful place to go for a day trip. You can drive your car up to the top, or park at the bottom and take a short walk up to the top. Absolutely stunning views!
Marbles & marvels! Beautiful especially during the fall season.
Great place to relax and picnic
Great place.
Small park, nice place to picnic
Trails, waterfalls, and cool rock formations.
You can see most everything in under half an hour, but its still worth coming here.
Beautiful place to connect with nature. There are lots of stairs so if you have trouble with them it may not be ideal for you. Beautiful scenery all around.
Always a great time in nature . Natural Bridge has always been a favorite place for me.
Beautiful! Take the free 15 minute tour. Well worth your time!
This park is very nice. Has the only white granite Dame. Viewing of the waterfall in glacier carved bolders. Its a state park so theres a $5:00 fee. Also a picnic area so you could spend so time and enjoy nature
Tiny place with no hike but loved the tick formations and falls.
Absolutely stunning views. 100% not handicapped accessible.
Beautiful scenery and has a little swimming hole witch is nice
Small park but with a nice little walking path around it and a beautiful view of a river that runs through marble. Its a beautiful dam and a wonderful way to realize how a community is effected by the environment they develop in.
Beautiful park with nice scenery. Can only park up top on the weekends, 5 dollars for MASS residents and 10 dollars every other state. Can bring your dogs here without an issue and its children friendly.
I brought my 7 year old to do a little hiking. The grounds are well-kept. There is a nature trail that you can explore. Plus the main attraction: the Nature Bridge. There is signage to tell you a bit about what you are looking at, and facts and history behind it. There are plenty of areas for picnicking and relaxing, as well.
I love nature north Adams paradise
This place is so great everybody needs to go check it out loved it would love to go back again
Nice place
Short hike. But very beautiful. Include it in your trip. You were gonna drive right by it anyway.
Im incredibly jealous of all the people who live in the area. This is an amazing area to get to walk through.
I believe it would have been better if the water level was higher but was a neat little place to visit.
My first time was extraordinary joyful very peaceful setting I stayed longer than I expected and well be going back enjoy guys
What a cool place!
An abandoned marble quarry converted to a beautiful park.
Its a beautiful place lots of history
Gorgeous natural bridge and the sculpture garden makes for a romantic walk. Boston Wrecked by Volcano is my favorite carving from the quarry workers. The carvings are all over the place! I enjoy exploring the mill ruins and walking the many surrounding paths. Picnicking in the quarry is lovely.
Loved this place
Awesome views! If youre not a fan of heights think twice but go anyway
Good place to relax and get in touch with nature and yourself. The roaring brooks are awesome.
Beautiful, easy to explore, and just outside of North Adams. Stopped by for a quick hiking adventure while visiting my daughter at school. Even during the off season, this park is easily accessible. Parking is $5 when they are open. A paved road leads to the park area where visitors can explore the gorge on fenced, wooden walkways. (Reminded me of Lost River in New Hampshire.) Short trails lead to hidden places along the rivers edge. An open grassy area is perfect for kids, dogs, or a picnic. Loved it!
Just stopped in out of curiosity driving through and found this hidden treasure. Great hidden paths and beautiful views. You can see the mountain carved by water. Really worth the stop. I highly recommend you check this place out.
Not the easiest place to find if you dont know the area, but well worth the effort. Sort of a pocket park but most interesting if you take the time to read the signs and ask questions. Excellent staff as well...
Drove from Pittsfield to see this park just to find a locked gate and sign “closed for the season”. According to these reviews, someone was here 2 weeks ago. I think this site should be updated to reflect closures!!!
Small but beautiful
Neat park with the only marble dam and marble bridge in North America.
The only white marble dam in America. Easy stairs, a bit uneven trail with marble rocks. Verynice.
Loved talking to the ranger, she was very knowledgeable. Fun place to visit.
Park closes at 430 pm not 5pm. Amazing natural formations! Lovely surrounds! Absolutely worth a visit!
Very cool to see the geology of the park
It was beautiful but it wasnt worth $10
Beautiful, quiet, and an excellent place to have a picnic and bring a family.
Well worth the drive, well maintained and beautiful falls
Loved connecting with earths beautiful treasures
Very unexpected from the eoad but its really nice once u drive in
Beautiful park with an easy walk. Park outside the gates and walk in to save MO ey on parking.
Went here as a kid and somehow it seems less special now. I brought my kids recently. 9 yr old boys were running around a bit. Lots of fencing but still not a place for kids to be left unattended at all. Some natural beauty to this place. Good for a picnic and worth it to check out if only in the area once. Be prepared to hike about 1 mile to the site from parking. Several steps, but with good rails.
Beautiful place great place to take some food and have a picnic or grill
