Everything about this place was well thought out. Minimalist interiors make you feel relaxed. The river is right outside. We did a yoga class on a wood platform in the middle of a meadow. The pool is saline so you don’t smell like chlorine after. The staff are super nice.

Had a great time. Food was good, drinks were good. Outdoor pool was sublime. Outdoor sitting area also vey cool and relaxed. Room was one of the less expensive ones but it was still spacious, clean and had a cool modern vibe to it. Outdoor shower was an interesting feature. The grounds are great for walks and the gardens looked like they were recently installed but will look great within a year. The nearby (same owners) Airport Rooms bar was a unique space that was really interesting. Sort of like drinking in a haunted (but in a good way) house. Food and drinks also excellent and decently priced.

We spent a few days here this summer and the staff was SO helpful, everything was perfectly clean, social distancing was respected, masks were worn at all times while moving around, the pool was amazing, Tracy did some awesome outdoor morning yoga classes, Andy was so lovely bringing us drinks poolside and always being so genuine and funny and overall this was a nice getaway during a really tough time. Also - we have a very active toddler and it was super kid friendly with multiple families also staying and enjoying the time with their kids in comfort and nature at the same time.

Tourists caters to a specific taste and while it isnt everyones cup for tea it is incredibly special. The rooms are spare but inviting. The food and atmosphere are charming and unique, and if you are lucky you might catch an intimate concert from a fantastic collection of musicians who stop by for shows. If you are a fan of Mass MOCA you will love it here and if you are passing through town pop in for a drink and a snack. You will be glad you did.

This place is a game changer. Dog friendly, surrounded by beautiful scenery, offers great food, has wonderfully friendly staff, and it’s impeccably designed. Plus, it’s just down the road from Mass MoCA and all the other natural features that make the Berkshires so special. Stayed here three times and would stay again!

Spent a night here this past March with my partner. Talk about a great little getaway! Its pretty much the halfway point between North Adams and Williamstown making it very convienent to get to all the Northern Berkshires attractions. We were easily able to get to Mass MoCA, the Clark Institute, and the 62 Center in the two days we were there. Its also at the base of Mt. Greylock making this a great spot for hikers. Aesthetically speaking the Hotel blends right in with the surrounding area. And the food! We each shared their Waffles and Breakfast sandwich and it was truly the best breakfast sandwich Ive had to date. The staff was also incredibly warm and welcoming. A shout out to Kristina for her great recommendations!

Gorgeous place to stay, the rooms were modern and beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches, the grounds were a treat to explore. There was a private balcony with an outdoor shower and sitting area where you can bird watch and simply enjoy the beauty of the Berkshires.Room service is a must, the Rye waffles blew my mind, the cardamom bun was perfection. The whole experience exceeded our expectations and we can wait to visit again.

Flashback to my Iceland trip last year with gorgeous Scandanavian minimalist architecture with delicious food and drinks, I will definitely be back and stay again. Easy bus ride from NYC and took uber from Williamstown; this was a much needed weekend away from the city for me. Skiing at Jiminy Peak (about 30 minutes North) was pretty good as far as Northeast skiing can go.

Just returned from one of my favorite getaways of all time. Truly one of the coolest and most unique places I’ve ever experienced. It’s only been open a short time and there’s still so much more to come...which is hard to believe...because they are already nailing it.The friendly and approachable staff, the clean amazing rooms with the best of details (3 different soap options for hand washing..yes!), radio with dial, remote control shades, super comfy beds...full length mirrors...mini bar options...the list of greatness goes on.The main lobby area that we spent about 9Hours in and out of...we left to grab dinner off property and while we were out we couldn’t wait to get back. The same lobby took on a different vibe depending on the time of day but all of it worked. All different dynamics of people in the same room, for different reasons, yet all of it working seamlessly. The amazing playlist that never ended and worked perfectly no matter what your music interest. The books for sale...the unique Tourists memorabilia...and the black toilets in the water closets. And this is just the beginning. Soon the building next door will be open with a speak easy feel and more amazing food and drink will be served..I can only imagine what’s in store and cannot wait to get back there!! Bravo to the masterminds behind this concept.

I loved this hotel! It is such a rarity to find a hotel that takes full advantage of its setting, and introduces you to things about your location that you might not have discovered on your own. The room was extremely thoughtfully designed, with enough light, hooks, towels, storage, and comfortable places to sit and relax (the window seat was a great touch, as were the extra camp seats, so that all three of us could actually sit and enjoy the deck at the same time). The bed was really comfortable, the outside shower was a great idea, and I really enjoyed all those interesting bath soaps. I would’ve loved to have coffee available in the room, but it was easy enough to wander over to the deck in the morning and get some. We had breakfast one morning on the deck, and dinner at the Airport Rooms next door, both of which are really fun and appealing places to hang out. I’ll be interested to see how the food evolves, as if there were a broader menu it would be pretty easy not to leave this hotel at all! Though our stay was a splurge for us, I really hope we’ll have a chance to return.

Tourists is an example of minimalist design at its best and brightest. The room is extremely clean and sparse, yet everything you need is within your hands reach. This didnt just happen on its own: it is the result of someone having thought about every single detail, much in the same way Japanese design aesthetic does. This is luxury in the true sense of the word: calmness, serenity, and space to focus and relax. A small, well-written field guide on the desk helped us decide how to spend our time during the day. The only problem we encountered had to do with noise coming from the other rooms. If the room next door plays a loud movie, one can hear it. The main lodge is lovely and spacious, breakfast is great (try the cardamom sweet bun). The pool, upcoming restaurant, nature trails and area museums will have us coming back.

What a lovely place to stay in North Adams. The decor is gorgeous, our stay was short so we didn’t have a lot of the food, but what we had was delicious and well presented. The coffee bar and was on point. Had a bit of rain, so didn’t enjoy the pool, but each room has a back patio, cool chairs and I assume all have outdoor showers. Nice robes, comfy bed and robes and beautiful grounds. The whole package! We will definitely be back!

Stayed here midweek at the last minute and to say I had an incredible time is an understatement. The rooms were cute and comfortable...not to mention that I had the best night sleep of years on that mattress! They are dog friendly and even provided a doggie bed and bowls for my pooch. The bar just opened. Great, cozy space with a fireplace. As it was a snowstorm, we decided to stay and have dinner there as well instead of going out as originally planned and the food was great! All around a super positive experience. Wish I had planned to stay longer.

Tourists – not impressed at all. Imagine a hotel ordered from IKEA, assembled without instructions. It gets better:You CANNOT SWITCH FROM HEAT TO AC. Not using the room thermostat. You need to call the front desk and hope someone picks up the phone. For $100 above any other hotel in the area, you would think you would have access to the AC. AND the heat/ac unit is UNDER THE BED. This insanity alone guaranteed we would not stay longer than 1 nite. There is no “OFFICE or CHECK IN signage, instructing you where to check in. We wasted 20 minutes looking for it, even going to the restaurant next door, clearly marked “Tourists”. Thru our 24 hour stay, we saw many others do the same thing. (Hint: its in the center, but facing away from the road.)No Fridge/microwave. Would not have been so bad, but everything shuts down early, and if your party has fussy eaters, you are screwed. They brag online how you can hear the babbling brook from your room at night. They neglect to mention THE TRAIN. Or its horn. At night. The sink is of a terrible design. No counter to put your stuff on, insufficient light to see the mirror, separate hot & cold knobs guarantee one of your kids will scald themselves. The shampoo gave everybody head zits. The head of the bed was lower than the foot.Upon checkout, the staff did not ask how our stay was. I can only assume they wanted us to let them know here.

Best place in the area for an overnight stay. Despite the location being right across from a supermarket, and the surrounding area only being very good for hiking, leaf-peeping, etc. and desolate otherwise, the place itself is an almost hygge rustic getaway. The staff is friendly, informed, attentive, and mostly young happy faces. They make unique food in-house (tahini-chocolate chip cookies, pizza with ramp pesto, yogurt with poached pears, etc.) which is arguely the best food in the area. Their main area (the Lodge) has a roaring fireplace in the colder months, which included April 2019, and has large comfy couches and tables scattered around, board games and books, and several big window seats. The rooms are each kind of tiny cabins, with cute touches, like USB lanterns and local selections in a drawer mini-bar. Big windows are featured well, and the room is decked out with internet, multiple tv/movie options, local soaps and bath products, robes, fancy water carafe, a little local assortment of postcards and maps, and some mysterious jazz alternative radio station playing. On the weekend they will deliver brunch to your rooms in the morning. If you want a mini-fridge for leftovers from your room just ask (I amended this when they responded to my review - I wish I had known when I went!). The only downside, besides the location, is the rooms lack any cooktops so making your own food is kind of out of the question unless you want to make sandwiches, and some of the sitting areas/pillows are made of a rougher fabric.

After reading all about the design, location and availability of Cortney Burns tasty treats in glass jars for take-out purchase, I detoured via North Adams. It was disappointing, after an extra hour’s drive, to be greeted by a young woman (whose role I cannot describe, as she didn’t introduce herself) whose tone and discourse were unequivocal. The hotel was only just opening to friends and family that weekend, many people were arriving, and the jars on display were therefore not available to anyone else.I expressed surprise and regret that this information differed from this August’s Berkshire magazine interview with Ms. Burns and the reporter’s comment on Tourists (I quote: (Ms. Burns) “You can just put together a big spread on the table to share with the people you’re traveling with or come by yourself to the hotel lodge and have a glass of wine”, as well as “the jar menu will remain available” throughout July and August. I had checked the website that confirmed the availability of said jars, and drinks, at the Tourists lodge and bar.) A man (? also part of the Tourist team) escorted me out with a soothingly expressed invitation to consider the beauty of the environment and an invitation to come back.I won’t be back. Acknowledging there might have been some confusion and expressing regret at my trouble would have sufficed to unruffle my reaction to the rough greeting. There are many beautiful places and much good food to be had in the area. If your choice is Tourists, my suggestion is to call first to make sure what is advertised is what is delivered… keeping in mind, understanding this is based on a single but striking experience, that the genteelness of the staff’s welcome may be limited.

Driving up to this hotel across from a Stop ‘n Shop grocery store and strip mall, one might not have super high expectations. But this brand new spot sitting right on the edge of the road will surprise you once you’ve checked in and see the back side of this property. Lobby and lodge are beautiful, decked out with gorgeous furnishings and a huge fireplace. The rooms are spare in the best sense of the word and immaculately designed for rest and relaxation. Rooms each come with outdoor shower, wonderful bath products, decks overlooking trees and the Hoosic River, there’s a beautiful saltwater pool, gorgeously landscaped grounds and tv covers so your eye focuses on the stunning scenery. The difference between the street facing side and backside of this place is such an interesting dichotomy! Thoroughly enjoyed the stay but do have a couple comments:1. The bathroom really needed to have an exhaust. With such attention to detail, it was rather shocking this was not thought through.2. The place is only 2 weeks old but they are still working on it. It would have been nice to have been made aware of the noise from chainsaws and construction workers during the daytime hours. It was especially disconcerting to have workers drive by your room (with a massive picture window) at 9:30am. There was no chance for a quiet coffee on the deck on the only morning of our stay and we had to keep the glass sliding doors closed to keep out the noise even though it would have been lovely to have the screen door open on the unseasonably cool August day. Surprised the room rate was not reduced until construction is finished.3. Coffee bar and Dinner was delicious although the gentleman working did seem to have an attitude problem. Other staff members we came into contact with were very lovely and we were especially appreciative to have been given an alternative down comforter upon request. All in all, this is a real gem. They are still installing plants, shrubs, doing some general construction work, etc so I’d recommend waiting until they fix some of the opening month kinks.
