My boyfriend and I took my kids over here for an afternoon of fun and they absolutely loved it! The museum is full of hands on exhibits so kids can learn while they play! There is a section on farming entirely, the path of crops once theyre harvested, the machines used to milk cows, and displays on farm equipment. They had an outdoor exhibit for kids as well with a small climbing wall, a hose to water the outdoor plants, and a sand box. On the ground floor there are Heath oriented exhibits, like a dentists chair and something that you can use to look at x-rays, and a neat machine that monitors your heart rate.For the price of admittance, we had a great time! Will definitely be back!

In comparison to other discovery museums, they really went bare minimum on there exhibits, I have a feeling the grant money went to other (pet) Uptown projects, instead of child development, and exploration. Would you feel comfortable letting your child climb in the discovery net? refer to the picture, notice the missing cable clamps, instead they tied the cables in knots and wrapped they in duct tape. TOP NOTCH MAINTENANCE

Love this place!! Great half day or all day fun for kiddos! We take the train up there and the station is right next door to the museum so it’s perfect! There’s places to eat on the same street so no need for a car. Water play, imagination/dress up, a huge climbing area! Must go if you haven’t been!

Ive been here quite a few times and my kids love it here. I have a science degree and I love how they have a whole floor dedicated to renewable energy, agricultural science, and compressed air. My son loves that floor while my daughter loves the music and art floor. Its cheap to go to and I highly recommend bringing your kids here.

Tons of stuff to do for the younger kids, Id say 12 and under or so, they really do have a blast! Cheap and easy way to spend time with the little ones, definitely worth the money.

The BEST kids activity in town! We have been members for several years and still enjoy every visit. Three floors of fun for all ages, plus many classes and special activities throughout the year. Always very clean, friendly staff, and a fun gift shop.

Lots to do! Spent about 4 hours playing and exploring and could have easily stayed longer if we didnt have a time constraint. Clean facility and staff is really friendly too. Great childrens museum!

Fun place with lots of activities! My 10 year old son enjoyed it but most kids were under 7. We spent two hours here and still didnt try everything. His favorite was the large building blocks.

Displays dont change often. That being said, the displays that are there are pretty entertaining. To story climbing maze, interactive educational displays on wind/coal energy, fully equipped theatre stage, a fantastic painting room, big village to play pretend, large hands on water feature, and definitely more... Lots to do. The birthday party package is fun and easy. The staff is extremely pleasant.I have a 2,3, and 7 year old and they all love when we visit.

This was my third kindergarten field trip to this museum, and Ive never seen a kid bored/disappointed by it. Kids stay engaged with exhibits, which are well-maintained and easy to use.

Place is my kids favorite place to celebrate birthdays!!! They love the stage, lights dress up and puppets!! Also love the water play area and avantis pizza area!! A must see for younger kids!

My 3yr old, from the moment we entered, was so excited that she was bounding from one exhibit to another. It would have been easier to get her a shot at the hospital than to get her to leave.

Great place for playing with your child(ren) or letting them free play on their own. There are SO many opportunities for play and learning. All kinds of learning styles are accommodated in this 3 story discovery museum.

Great childrens museum in central IL. Clean, educational, and fun. Something for all my kids ages 4,7,9.

Lot of fun here. It look like a small museum from the outside but infact they have 3 floors with different types on individual floor. It will take you at least 1/2 of days to discover the whole museum. My kids spent almost 2 hours on the 1st floor with building blocks, pizza zone and water play place area.. 2nd floor is a cool learning center for kids..they also have vending machine here.

First time here, and we loved it. My daughter had a blast and so did I! Well be back!!!

I was excited to go here, but was shocked at the price for a 3 year old. At 3 they barely can make it through the second floor, this does not justify the $8 fee. Also most exhibits were broken or missing things. It was pretty dirty especially for flu season. Two of us are sick now! I probably wont go again.

This is the best spot in town to take your kids on a cold day, they have a ton of great activities stay across 3 floors. The kids will have fun and wont be playing Fortnite, win win.

Childrens Discovery Museum is a gem in Bloomington-Normal! There are three floors full of fun for kids of all ages! They have so many activities and centers in all of the different nooks and crannies that it is like a new visit every time you go because there is just so much to explore! They have a suspended climber that spans two floors and is easily the center point of the building, but they also have cool exhibits on water, wind, music, art, agriculture, and so much more. A must see if you have kids and are in the area.

This place is amazing! So much to do! Three floors of exhibits and play areas. There is a GIANT water table, two story climbing area (picture), painting area, stage with tons of costumes, and a great area for the smaller kids! We got a family pass for the year; totally worth it!

Great place for kids, great location in Uptown Normal. Our daughter had her birthday party there, the kids loved it and the staff was great! Kids cant get away either, so parents can relax.

We had a 1 year old and an 11 year old and both found plenty of things to do and have fun with! The Imagination Stage even interested my 21 year old and kept us all laughing and having fun!!!!

This place is fantastic for kids of all ages. There floors worth of interesting stuff, each floor with a different theme. We held our childs second birthday party here, and not only did the kids all have a blast, but the staff was incredibly helpful and well organized. Everything went off without a hitch. Highly recommend.

Great, Fun and Amazing place! Even for adults. Brought my daughter and other kids along with my gf at the time and we all had a blast! Pricing is very fair and the staff were very helpful and kind. They even help with supervision to a pint if you have younger children which really is awesome..

My eight teen month grandson played for three hours. He had the best time. Highly recommended it to parents and grandparents.

This is a great kids museum. It is three storys with multiple areas for kids to learn they have a ready awesome two story climbing area that is great for kids to get some energy out. The place was extremely clean and tidy. And the staff was great and helpful we will for sure be visiting again.

I enjoyed this place and watching my 1 year old run around and explore. He was able to interact with other kids too. Overall I just wish there were MORE to accommodate babies his age.

Took my granddaughter there today and she really liked it. But at the climbing activity, most of the mothers there had their noses glued to their phones, instead of watching their kids....Yeah, the thing is safe but you just never know. Perhaps there should be a HUGE sign that requests parents to PLEASE STAY OFF OF YOUR PHONES AND SUPERVISE YOUR CHILDREN PROPERLY..... Talk about idiotic !!!

An eclectic collection of fun for all. I love how they have the road and cars by the doll house. It allows for me to be able to have both my children interested in something nearby where I can keep an eye on them. It also has a nice collection of real life (doctor, dentist, grocery, pizza shop) toys to play with. I had fun putting everything in order while my kids made pizzas or made grocery transactions. I like the area where kids can make recordings of themselves as well. There is so much more on the first floor...so this doesnt include the 2nd and 3rd floor!

Fun Time. Lots of things to explore and figure out. From fluid dynamics to ag sciences to grocery store to biology to physics to climbing ... well, just about everything. Keeps Grandpa and Grandson busy for hours. Cool stuff in the store too!

We took our young nephew here for a fun exciting day and it was achieved. There is so much to do for all children. He enjoyed every floor and all exhibits. This place is super interactive so dress comfortable. The staff is helpful and ready for life mishaps when children are around. We have previously taken nieces who are older, nearing the teen years and they found just as much enjoyment. The tickets are good for all day, which means you can leave, go to lunch or whatever and come back. This is a valuable part of Uptown, and a place to visit again and again.

Really cheap admission 7 bucks a person is the best price Ive paid to get into a kids museum. 3 floors of interactive learning, kid friendly experiences.

Love this place!! Soo much fun for kiddos of all ages. We routinely take our four kids here, and spend about 45 minutes to an hour on each floor. You could spend an entire day, but we like to do the zoo too. Prices are very reasonable, crafts are fun, and we love the atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome. They actually make sure the stuff isnt broken on a daily basis, theres always staff walking around if you need them and there is a gift shop to take some cool things home!The kids will love acting in costumes, painting on windows, making music, moving fluffy items through clear wind tubes, building with the giant blocks, cooking, shopping, working in an ER and the best part... The two story climbing area!! Its on the second floor and has 4 entrances/exits plus stairs into the center so parents can sit and watch the kids climb if they choose!

The kids have a great time when we bring them here! They love the painting on the 3rd floor and once you pay an admission, there are not extra costs. Lots to do and for kids to see and learn.

This place is amazing not for the children but adults... you walk through the door and you automatically feel like youre a kid again... I hadnt felt like that in a very LONG TIME...my son and I had a blast playing with everything they have there.... we will definitely be going back

So many fun things to check out. My 2, 4, 6, and 10 year olds all enjoyed themselves, and learned while they were doing it! I love the walls of windows... We watched it snow outside while we played!

At first I thought it was just some toys and equipment to play with or on. Then we realized that it was just the first of 3 floors. 1st floor has things like; a play grocery store, water tables, blue foam blocks, and even a gift shop. 2nd floor has all sorts of science/ engineering based activities. That includes driving tractor simulators, building wind turbines, and learning about farming. 3 floor has all the arts and crafts you can do. Theres a little area for plays and puppets including all the costumes. There is even a window wall that you can paint all over. This is definitely a place to take your kids on rainy or cold snowy days.

This place is great for families! I even enjoy it just as much as my niece and nephew do. My favorite part was on the 3rd floor when they had the stage with all the costumes. It was so fun dressing my niece and nephew in outfits to put on a show. This place never disappoints!

Pretty cool for a small city like this. A few displays were down, but I was actually pretty shocked the vending machines offered such poor choices. Im surprised this place doesn’t take nutrition more seriously.

This place should be in the running for one of the best in the nation. We traveled alot with the kids been to many children museum s. There is just the perfect balance of exhibits/activities for the kids. Every kid should find something here to keep them entertained for a long time. I think your youngster would not be disappointed.

We went today and I have to say my kids weren’t super excited about it. We’ve been to other places like this that are much better. We drove an hour to get there and I won’t be going back. My boys 2 and 5 are pretty active tho so we like things where we can use our bodies more. Especially when sitting in a car on the way there. The area where they could climb was their favorite part but not a real big area. A lot of the activities were glitchy and the buttons wouldn’t work. We need physical stimulation over mental . Overall we’ve been to better and my oldest agreed he was bored.

Three floors of activities that even my 8 year old enjoyed. Though I think in a year or two he might not have as much fun. The different areas are well maintained and cleaned. I saw someone putting different play areas toys back in their proper spots on a regular basis. The first floor is all role play areas and a water play area; the second floor has a nice climbing area, some science (without screaming science), and a farm area; and the third floor was all about the arts. My 6 and 8 year olds played here easily for three hours. I feel like slightly younger kids would play longer.

Wonderful experience. The grandkids had a good time and probably learned about the world around us at the same time.

Wanted to have a little weekend getaway for Mothers Day weekend and was deciding between Bloomington or Indy. Im so happy we went this route. The price couldnt be beat with this choice. My husband and I and our 3 sons, ages 7, 4, and 9 months really enjoyed ourselves. Out of the 3 levels, the boys loved playing with the foam blocks on level 1 the best. They built a pretty cool house. The staff was so friendly. The gift shop had a lot of neat things too. Parking was super cheap in the parking garage. It was $2 for 3 hours. We will definitely be back again!!

Food and service are good, but its pricey. Good selection...a lot more than just burgers.

This place is great. For the price to get in there is so much to do. They have 3 floors that are quite spacious with tons of activities for all ages. This is a must go to place if you are looking for something fun, exciting, and educational for kids. If you are looking for something to do on a day were you cant go outside I would recommend this museum.

A fun way to spend a day out with your grandchildren. Wish they had a kid friendly cafe inside. Vending machines are ok but many folks dont have cash. Lots of restaurants nearby though. Be prepared for 3-5 hours as its hard to get the kids to leave. I had to bribe him with a cookie at Insomnia cookies shop down the street.

Well done museum brings science down to a fun level. Expertly designed in and out. Reasonable price admission.

Wide variety of activities. Nice staff, changes about once or twice a year. Fun place mostly for kids, but interesting for adults too. Another plus, if you get the yearly pass, you get discounted or free entry to many other national kids museums. Definitely worthwhile.
