Growing up in Norfolk, The NorVa has always hold a special memory. During college, it was the place to listen to good music in a safe and comfortable environment. No issue getting in, finding a spot or getting a dream. Plus parking is easy here. You can either park at the mall or two other garages nearby.

Easily the best venue for live music Ive ever been too. Small enough to feel intimate, but large enough that it doesnt feel cramped even with a packed house.Great sound, light, etc. Of special note was the excellent staff. Helpful, friendly, and efficient. Kudos to the staff and management. The NorVa is truly one of a kind, and Ill be looking for more concerts to attend here. Definitely worth the 5 1/2 trip!

Great facility for concerts, the rest rooms are fairly clean for a concert venue. Drink prices could be better, but definitely not the highest. When the send level is open to general admission, thats a great view. Overall my favorite venue for live shows!

The Norva is my absolute favorite venues. I have been going there since I was 17 year old. They have the best bands perform there. Always a good time. No sitting, and its GA so you find a place you want to stand to watch the show and you watch it. Getting a drink at the bar is easy. Everyone is super nice.

Went here to see Elevation Worship in Jan. Loved the cozy intimate gathering. Being connected to FM Restaurant was the best experience. Book at the restaurant to get into the venue early its totally worth it and the food was amazing! Took my teen daughter and she loved it. Be careful on the streets outside my daughter and I were almost mugged.

Historic East Coast Venue, who havent I seen here? Bar service can be tricky (crowded) sometimes hot inside (wear layers) and the acoustics so so but you feel the history and a perfect size venue. Smoking area outside. Seeing a show here feels like youre in the big city, so many epic times here!

Awesome venue. Small enough to be intimate but big enough to give you breathing room if needed. Balcony with seats if wanted. They sell drinks and food which is nice for a venue of this size. Sound is fantastic! Stage is high enough that you can see the act easily but they can still interact with the crowd.

Great concert venue. There are always some good shows on the schedule and the venue is very classy and accommodating. The stage, soundsystem and lights are world class. Been looking forward to a show at this place for years. Traveled up from Charlotte, NC to see Avatar! Great place for a metal show, or any show for that matter. Acoustics were great, sound crew was on point. Security was some of the best I have seen, and we frequent a metal concert every month or so. Small and close quarters for the up close personal feel. Balcony gives some great views too, but would probably need to get there early for that. We found a great view on the main floor. Would love to go back for another show.

Amazing, friendly, helpful staff. The vibe at this venue is great. My daughter was having an asthma attack and the staff directed her to a quiet hallway and gave her a bottle of water and stayed with her to make sure that she was safe. Their security, staff and management have a bird’s eye view on their event, as a parent, this is nice to know.

Most tickets go on sale at 10am. Box office does not open until 11am. Venue does not have any reserved tickets for box office sales so majority of popular shows will be sold out online prior to box office opening. Seems pointless. Staff yells at concert goers & pushes through crowd.

The Norva is a great venue in a convenient location in Norfolk. Ive seen a fee shows there at this point and have never been dissatisfied. The Norva is located just across the street from MacArthur Center which has an inexpensive parking garage (I paid $2 to park there for 5.5 hours at my last concert Nov 2018). There is also a resturant (its called FM) on the back side which will allow you early show entry if thats something you are into.

I used to love this venue, in the past it had great acts that came through regularly, friendly staff, and even fairly clean bathrooms. In recent years the quality of all of the above has gone way down. Ive had to leave a couple of shows because its oversold, and way crowded beyond fire safety capacity, especially when people are smoking weed inside during the show (cough cough). Its been so crowded that I couldnt even clap for the band. Had to give them a queen wave. I dont think they could see me through the dope cloud anyway.I ordered a $10 beer, and $3 water and coudlnt even get a lime to go with it. They have a tray of them sitting out, and I didnt know that was for bartenders only. Before I could take my change, the short temptered bartender with a shaved head was very quick to point out that in the future, I was not to have a lime for my overpriced beer and water, I asked arent these for everyone? Not for your hands! Making it seem like I reached around contaminating the whole bin, He saw that I didnt touch any of the rest. Thanks to being bumped into by drunks lighting up weed and cigarettes indoors between songs (which staff turns blind eye to, but not lime patrol) and then being insulted and called dirty by the so called bartender over taking a slice of fruit, my future involves having a Gin and Tonic with extra limes at a way better performance venue: ELEVATION 27 off of First Colonial Rd in VB. The acts they book are top notch, lots of rock, indie and metal bands. It reminds me of how the Norva used to be like before it turned ghetto like the rest of Norfolk. Elevation 27 is clean, has free parking and friendly staff that realize that the fans attending and buying expensive drinks pay their salaries. Shows over.,♫

Venue is on the smaller side, which is cool because even if youre in the middle / back of the room youre still really close to the performer.I went with a friend to see Glass Animals. A great experience ! The lighting effects were also pretty cool. Theres only standing room and they serve beer / pizza at a bar on the side. From what I remember the beer cost $10, so a little pricey but to be expected at a concert venue. If you ever see a favorite artist of yours perform here buy the ticket asap!! Get there early and youll be able to stand right by the stage when they perform.

The ENTIRE staff down to the police officers outside the doors, as well as the company that owns this place are absolute slime. Take your business somewhere not so deeply enriched with corruption.Anyone who actually cares about music and the art that is live performance should not come here. There are way safer places to go party in the area. Avoid this location at all costs, especially if you are a woman. These people just want $$$ and have no concerns for your safety.
