Very peaceful. Loved all the bull frogs

Excellent birding.

I was impressed with this little piece of nature in the city. It is very well maintained and is a nice place to pack a lunch and go for a little walk. I should have thought ahead and brought bug spray. My kids and I got pretty eaten up and left earlier than planned due to the nasty bugs. We didnt see any birds but it was near noon and I hear it is better at dawn or dusk. We will go back and next time, we will bring bug repellent!

Historical, natural park and preserve with ducks and frogs, a bamboo nature walk by the lake. It was a camping site of the 1775-76 Anza Expedition. Picnic tables and shaded areas. Well worth a visit. No bathroom. A portable toilet, but it was locked.

So peaceful and inviting. Lots to see and pleanty of birds if that is your thing.

What an excellent job the caretakers of this beautiful birding area, have done to preserve, yet modernize the natural habitat, for all to enjoy.
