Walking the elevated pathway provides an amazing view of the surrounding area and seeing the enormity of the project is hard to believe when you are walking or running it.The lodge and the main parking lot are on two separate roads and are not attached by a sidewalk which is a bit odd... didnt get to see the inside of the building yet

I love coming here to fly my kites. When the wind is just right it is a perfect place to fly. It is so wide open so you cant interfere with anyone else around. And most times there usually isnt a lot of people around. This the first time my wife and I have walked to the top to get an open view of the area. It really is a wonderful view.

I really would’ve gave it a five if the latrines or bathrooms or restrooms whatever terminology you want to use ....we’re working we had a birthday party/Fourth of July family gathering at the reservoir park it was really nice it was quiet had a lot of fun we were able to play a lot of games because it had a lot of room out there to play. we played kickball we just played too many games to name but that was one of the positives things the negative was every time someone had to use the bathroom they had to walk forever and we had people there from ages one up until 87 and there was a restroom just steps from us but the sad part was it did not work so I just thought that was the downside to it they knew that it was a holiday they knew people had paid for a pavilion so they knew it was going to be people there they should have made sure that the restrooms were working or gave us a discount or even just let us know that they’re not working I just thought that was the only negative part everything else is really nice

Hike, Walk, Run around Niagara Reservoir. If you park at the Power Authority parking lot, and take paved trail up onto reservoir embankment, you can walk around most of the way. If you go counter clockwise, folowing the mile markers, around 6 miles you will come to a no tresspassing gate. Go through it, and at 6.5 miles, just before the dam, on the right you will see a radio tower and a little dirt path that goes out by a cematary on Witmer Road, go out that way (steep climb down the embankment to path), turning L on Witmer and cross in front of the dam on Witmer road back to the parking lot for a total of 7.3 miles. Or do it in reverse, going in front of dam on Witmer, turn right on dirt road by cemetary . . .

Love this park - it is perfect for long walks or playing baseball, softball, tennis. One negative is that soil drainage there is poor, so during wet spring, like we have this year, there is too much standing water in the grass. Also dog owners need to be aware of the tick problem, especially during warmer days. But overall, this is one of the best parks in the area with attention given to nature - they planted in uncultivated areas local native plants. Idea of exercise equipment along the walking trail also works perfectly.

Ive fished all around this state for 40 years and Ive frequently found myself fishing here.Fish wander in from the river and also filter back out.Almost any fish found in the river can be caught here in limited numbers at some point in the year.Small perch, rock bass, and small bass in the 6-10 range seem to be common.I have caught the occasional bigger bass too.Small schools of silver bass can sometimes be seen chasing minnows well out of casting distance. The tease is that its a 1900 acre reservoir and boats are not allowed.Access is limited to the part within the park along the south shore.

Absolutely beautiful place for a party! We had a retirement dinner here for my husband and even though it rained, we were cozy inside! The downfall is that the max comfortable capacity is about 50 people unless you luck out and can enjoy the glass doors open to the outside so you can spread out. Lost a on the rating because I asked for a peek inside before our party to plan for set up and didnt receive it. THEN I was aggravated that the Parks employees came to clean up right in the middle of our party. They claim their papers read I had it from 9am-4:30pm (odd since its only a 4hour rental) but our time was from 3-7pm. Sadly, as they were cleaning up anyway since I couldnt produce my contract, my guests felt it was time to go and they did. It was very awkward as we still had guests arriving thinking they were getting there midway, not at the end.

This park is great, very enjoyable for anyone of any age. The grounds crew really does keep the park looking great. The track is always well kept, they cut the grass on both sides of the walking track & they recently installed work out areas along the path as well. They have two bathroom facilities, one located by the baseball diamonds and the other closer to the playground. On a recent visit with my niece, both Her & I enjoyed the playground, I felt like a kid again. Great atmosphere.

The park offers a great place to run, it has a fitness trail around the baseball diamonds with various stations to work out on. If your looking for a long scenic run, head to the top of the reservoir, its about 5.6 miles from one fence to the other then you turn around and head back.

This place isn’t wondrous to the eye like a natural monument or Park would be. However, it’s amazing to walk around here and learn how this Buffalo Niagara resource contributes to providing power to our state. I took my 6 year old daughter here to teach her about all of that and she was very engaged. Plus - it’s one hell of a place to go sledding if there’s snow on the ground!

Two areas to walk or run at this park. The park on the Saunders Settlement entrance offers exercise machines along the trail for visitors to stop and use. If youd rather walk, or run, and time yourself, the Military Road entrance offers a beautiful path along the to of the reservoir marked for mileage.
