Hub Sports has really made me feel at home when Im in Boston. They offer a ton of sports and their umpires and refs are pretty good. I dont envy the umpires at all. They miss some calls (even the professionals do) but not many. Ive made a ton of friends and highly recommend it!

By far the best softball league I play in. Lots of choices of games, fields, locations, days and times. Great league management and umpires. Good players who enjoy the fellowship of playing, as well as the games themselves. I highly recommend the HUB for any sport you want to play that they offer!

Ive played in various sports and softball leagues across Boston, and theres a reason Ive stuck with Hub. The folks who run it are easy to get in contact with and keep you updated with what you need to know for games. All the umpires for softball are ASA certified, which means theyre usually pretty good -- and at the very least, they know the rulebook.Overall, Ive been playing in Hub leagues for 4 years, and Ive had zero complaints. Even one season where rainouts forced the season to go long, Hub didnt cut any games, and found us an alternate field when the city of Cambridge closed our normal field for the winter.

Worked with Owen and Kevin on setting up a team that has allowed all of my friends to meet up weekly, play competitive football, in a fun safe environment. Thanks Hub Sports

Played in two co-ed softball leagues in the fall and spring.Very expensive, especially when you consider you only get to play 6 regular season games plus a maximum of two playoff games. Additionally, the fields vary in quality, with some being in pretty terrible condition (not necessarily Hubsports fault, but still).Communication between the league and teams is not always clear nor timely, which was annoying. We won both leagues, but were not given enough championship t-shirts for our team (we had 15 players, and got 14 shirts each time). Also, the league promises a championship photo album, but there was no photographer for one of the two championships we played in.They detail out all of the rules on the leagues home-page, yet each umpire follows their own set of rules, which leads to inconsistent officiating from game to game.Lastly, there needs to be better pairing of skill levels in the league. By no means were we great softball players, but we were rarely challenged by other teams. Would be more enjoyable for everyone if they got to play against teams of a similar caliber. All in all, it is too expensive for the lack of games and competitiveness.

Best sports league in Boston in my opinion - Ive played softball, basketball, and flag football with HUB. They always bring good competition together and everything has always gone smooth with the leagues. Highly recommend them.

These leagues definitely aren’t worth the money. Always changes in schedules and the league reps don’t help at all. I played softball and soccer last year and tried a Bball league for the heck of it. The basketball courts they use are a joke. Go to another league.

Inconsistent officiating and a lack of understanding of the importance of their job makes this league the worst in the state. If you are looking for cardio, competitiveness, or just a social gathering, I would advise searching elsewhere. There are much better and more affordable leagues available. Overpriced and poorly managed best describes this league.

Been with this league for a couple of years now. My frustration has been growing since day one, for a number of reasons.1. Hubsports tends to match teams of different skill levels. The league is stated as Rec/intermediate, but this is just a way of allowing intermediate/advanced teams to beat up on the little guys. Why not just have a rec only league? I dont want to drop $1000 for my team every season when were losing to a team that is clearly intermediate/advanced by 20 runs.2. They are not organized. Every season, without fail, I get an email saying that a mandatory captains meeting is in a few days. (This season, they sent it to me the day of.) I live in NH, so driving to Watertown with short notice is a pain. Then they release the week 1 schedule a few days before the season actually starts. (Followed by the full schedule a week or two IN to the season...)The most recent example if disorganization is that they had my team playing 2 doubleheaders, at 2 different fields at the same time...3. The umpires dont want to be there. With the exception of Bill, every umpire seems to hate showing up. They have such a horrible attitude, that it can ruin the experience. Dont even get me started on the actual play calling... (Maybe the hub should adopt a 2 umpire rule... Ive been in leagues with 2 umps, and have had no complaints.)I really tried giving this league a chance, and honestly, I thought they were just going through growing pains. But this will be my last year. Moving my team to Boston Sports Club next Spring.

To say this league is dysfunctional is an understatement. Schedules are always done last minute, people who work for the league are combative and lazy, games/events are completely disorganized. Fields are not set up to provide a good experience. Safety is not a top priority. A fellow teammate was badly hurt due to proper precautions not being taken. This is common, fields are never prepared for game play and are typically dangerous. Field attendants only care for the fields they play on. The cost is way too high considering the amount of games played. The leagues main priority is to collect your money and act like an absentee landlord. Sadly, this is really the only league in Boston due to its vast control on fields (or so it seems). Classic case of a business getting too large and not caring for the product that got them there in the first place. Avoid this league in the city at all costs if you can. Try BSSC or Brookline Wood Bat league for mens softball.

Very disorganized and poorly run league; second year in a row not getting our money’s worth. Time limits in the championship games, umps that don’t know the league rules...the unprofessinalism across this league is truly unacceptable.
