Firehouse Theater

It was spontaneous, fun, hilarious, welcoming, and just an all around great night out. Cant recommend it enough. Super talented performers to be able to get up and improv the way they did. We were super impressed and had a really wonderful time with a lot of laughs!

By far the best thing to do in Newport on a Friday or Saturday night. The Bit Players are hilarious everytime they hit the stage. No two shows are ever the same because its true genuine improvisation. Some audience members can get out of hand trying to make themselves the center of attention or prove their funny too but the cast usually does a good job at putting them in their place. They never pick on anyone unless you bring it on yourself so be forewarned. Dont miss Vlad... Hes a staple at the Firehouse. Oh and its BYOB!!

The Bit Players get 5 stars because these are people who have day jobs and practice during the week on their comedy. Naturally the quality of any individual skit can vary depending on the prompts from the audience and the players ability to come up with things on the spot. But the overall experience for the audience is great. Vlad, who runs the show, is hysterical at times. The show is a great value for $18. I think most of the audience contributes to the tip bucket at the end because its such a good deal. The ability to bring your own drinks is an extra bonus.

My husband and I were looking for something to do, and this Improv show seemed to be the only thing happening. We did not have huge expectations for the show, but it wound up being a really good show. Well worth the $18 tickets. We even considered going back the following day, and only decided not to because it snowed. Would definitely recommend this show!

The show was unbelievably hilarious. Intimate setting and sold out show. A must see. I had to do everything in my power to hold my snort/laugh back. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

Great night out with the Bit Players! We laughed through the entire show and will certainly be looking for an opportunity to see them again! Great staff and cast - if you want a good laugh head to their show!

Unbelievably funny and talented crew. Can’t wait to go back. Pro-tip: Get there early for closer seats so they’re more likely to hear your suggestions. And don’t forget to BYOB!

We have been several times and this show never disappoints. Guaranteed laughs in a laid back environment!

Went to see the Bit Players two nights ago. Laughed so hard that I woke up the next day with sore abs! If you like to laugh, this is a must do in Newport. Fantastic time!!!

A lot of fun..... great night out and bring your own beverages (perfect). The comedy was outstanding. Our entire party enjoyed the show. We will be back.

I saw the bit on CBS Sunday morning, visiting here will be at the top of my list when I come to visit Washington state.

Great relaxed spot for comedy with the BIT players!! The place is BYOB and doesn’t serve food or alcohol; however soda and water are available. Definitely a basic black box theater, but the tickets are inexpensive, the comedy is great, and the staff are excellent. I recommend for a fun, inexpensive night out!

You cannot go wrong by spending an evening with the Bit Players!! The Improv is on point and its always different!! Never fails to have us laughing hysterically! Do not miss out on the fun!!

Went for family comedy night. Performance was 1 hour. Comedians were very entertaining for all ages. Show is similar to style of Whose Line is It Anyway improv games. Cost for a family of 4 was $50, plus tip. Fairly reasonable.

It was a fun time.... definitely worth. Checking out

I heard so many **positive comments about this outstanding comedy show .. Bringing my Princess from Colombia there this weekend !!Cant wait to see this most talked about show !!Omg !!! We went Saturday night and the show was totally hilarious !!! We had an awesome time and thanks for the group pic on the way out the door !! Now I know why Jay Leno chose to surprise everyone last weekend ...and try out his new material at the Firehouse Theater before hitting the road tour .. Jay only associates himself with respectable stand out talent and venues .. What an outstanding compliment to You all !!!We missed seeing Jay Leno but you guys Rock on your own !!! Awesome show !!

Hands down the best way to spend a Friday night in Newport. Coming from out of town, and new to the improve scene, I dont think Ive laughed harder in years! Worth every penny; basically a live version of Whos Line is it Anyways!

Great show tonight at Firehouse Theatre . The stage was filled with great talent. I laughed till I cried.

Great show!...Had such a good time! They are so funny and talented. It was amazing how quick they were to come up with. Definitely recommend, definitely will go back!

The Comedians are good but the place is a dump.

Im a part of a team which runs an event here once a month. The theater has a perfect black box ambiance and is a great place! Highly recommended.

The Bit Players are amazing and a must see any time you are in Newport

My husband and I love grabbing a bottle of wine from around the corner and catching an improv show with The Bit Players! The theater has a lot of character and we love the cozy atmosphere for a date night. The comedians are very talented and the show is always different. $18 well spent. Just a warning---seating is open and first come first serve, so if you want seating together for your party (I think they reserve for bigger parties) be sure to get there when the doors open at 7:30pm.

Lots of fun! Saw the Newport Bit Players there and it was funny- lovely time and very talented group! Worth the 18.00 and so much more.

Such a great time and the troupe are fantastic!

The Improv show at Firehouse Theatre is hilarious. We just laughed and laughed. Don’t go if you have recently had stitches, might just rip them out. Don’t forget to stop at the package store before your visit, BYOB! Enjoy!

Absolutely hilarious! This is a real must see.

You will never have a bad night with The Bit Players, highly recommend for everyones weekend out in Newport!!

Horrible horrible— paid $20 per person to see the show last night. They overbooked the show and had no seats left to sit in, there were multiple couples sitting on the floor and the steps. Not sure if the show actually would have been enjoyable or not. Left after 15 minutes so my pregnant wife didn’t have to sit on the ground. What a waste.

Fun improv. Very talented players

Came here to kick off a bachelorette party....so fun and my cheeks hurt from laughing so much. Great group and truly talented!!!

Great hole in the wall place to see some improv comedy.BYOB with provided cups, bottle openers and ice. Friendly staff that will happily help out for odd circumstances. I easily got some tickets rain checked when some in my group cancelled. Do make sure to order in advance however.Bit Players have always been funny, I have seen their show 3 or 4 times and every time it has been money well spent.

The crew was hilarious! Definitely way better than I even imagined. I highly recommend and Ill definitely be back!

I dont know why it took us so long to come here! Fantastic

Definitely worth a visit if youre in town. We used to go almost every weekend when we lived in Newport to see the Bit Players. Most of the time the comedy isnt great, but occasionally its really funny. Its not an expensive show, and you can bring your own beer.

If your in town, you gotta go on a Friday or Saturday night for live comedy/improv. The cast are charming, witty people. We go every year.

The Bit Players put on an amazing show. They are one of the best improv troupes Ive ever seen, nationwide.

Great little comedy theater. Its BYOB and they have mixers for you. Bring your sense of humor and be ready to think on your feet. The show is ten times better when you participate!

Was there tonight with couple of buddies. was a lot of fun. definitely will come back whenever im back in town. the cast were awesome and so talented! highly recommend.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening of Jazz at this small local venue.

Improv Comedy was a blast!

Great show and talented cast.

Definitely worth your time if you have a free evening in Newport. I dont usually go to theaters or comedy shows, but the cast was hilarious and will definitely have me thinking twice about comedy shows.

Entrance to the theater is through a door that brings you to the open stage. BYOB

One of best places to be Friday and Saturday nights before 8pm, be there. Totally worth your time! The talent is off the charts, wish more people knew about it. Also its free so bring 10-20 bucks for tips and byob.

It was a comfortable place to be in. Easy to make reservations and just as easy to get in. The show was great. The performers are very talented. Would go again.

We just saw the show for the first time...could not have asked for more...it was fabulous! I will highly recommend it to everyone I know...thank you to all involved in the production...keep up the good work!

We enjoy going to these shows. Theyre always so funny!
