We love this place! Fun to bike the boardwalk, walk out on the pier, chill on the soft sand beach, and most importantly, visit seaside donuts. Just go in and ask for whatever is freshest. If you can catch them pulling a batch right out of the fryer they will be the best donuts youve ever had (doesnt even matter what kind!). This park is also close to Balboa, where you can go check out the island or go for a fun whale watching tour (and get flavor burst Ive cream!)
Sleepy park just off the PCH adjacent to a quiet cozy community nestled near the beach. Plenty of picnic tables, sufficient shade after about 3pm most days. There are a few tennis walls and a basketball hoop as well.
Another beautiful day at the park near the beach. Clean restrooms with soap is also appreciated. Top notch tree landscaping care. Clean.
The park is just a small patch of grass and a strip with a couple of benches, but it leads to the Wedge, which often has some fun gnarly surf to watch.
Parking can be difficult sometimes, but I love this beach. Great for shortboard surfing & bodyboarding. There are also yoga classes held on the beach at various times.
Good place to park. Limit is up to 2 hrs. Can use ParkMobile app to pay and extend the time. Very convenient.
Beautiful place to swim and enjoy the sun
Its a very pacefull and beutiful place and the parking in very near to the beach!!
Take the family here when we want a clean and easy access to the beach. People here tend to be very nice.
To get in the water its s bit dangerous as it has a a deep drop as soon as you get in. The beaches are clean and there is plenty of parking during business day.
Beautiful scenery while riding bikes
Wide open spaces w/ nice grass and a lot of trail options too to walk, jog or ride a bike etc
I drive for Lyft. Must have been here but have no memory. You tell me why I should remember?
The sand is soft, people are friendly and it doesnt seem to get as crowded as Huntington Beach.
This is a great secluded beach that runs into the river as well. I believe this is the Huntington beach and Newport beach border? Located at the end of the peninsula, its a more quiet part of the beach where you can bring your dogs. People walking and enjoying the day. Great vibes. One thing is the currents can be strong so make sure to keep an eye on your pets and that they stay more in the river to be protected from the waves or currents.
Such a beautiful place to go enjoy the beach.
Beautiful stroll around the ocean..
We love this beach! The shower and restroom is close, thats a big plus!!
Great time watching the sunset
What a great to spend time with my friends in recovery
This park is awesome! It’s really close to the beach; only about a block away. You can smell the fresh sea air! I love it! It’s in a great neighborhood so I always feel safe. The only downside is finding parking sometimes.
Great scenery and the views of Catalina are gorgeous.visitors do you need to keep in mind that before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. this is a dog beach so you are literally laying in a litter box. careful where you put your towel and dont let your kids with any send in their mouth! Its not the most sanitary to take your kids or spend the day with the family. Huntington Beach would be a better choice.
Had a blast as always!!!
Great area to take the kids!!!
Clean well maintained
Nice calm beach
Great place.great weather..loving cali
Great place for family and fun
Great racquetball courts
Nice little busy park. I think it has a shower and a bathroom. Parking is always in short supply. Theres access to PCH if youre walking or riding your bike. If youre not a local you might not even know the park is there.
Its a nice beach. Most of the locals are friendly, will say hi. Theres a few that are more reserved but there view can be your summer playground for sure. Theres also a nice area where you can go and let your dog run around and play in the water as well. Nice play ground and local public restrooms as well. Unfortunately theres no doors ladies on the bathroom stalls. ********Ladies what I do is I would bring a couple close pins or large clips (not for your hair)and a big beach towel and Clip one on each side of the frame and make a door for your privileged privacy. Have fun, be safe, and please take your trash and items with you when you go. If we want the beach to stay beautiful we need to remember the little things. Enjoy
A block from the ocean, this is a hidden gem park. Little tricky to get too because of the one-way street its on. Other than that, it has one half basketball court with nice green tar. The height of the hoop seems official as it is a bit high for a small kid to play at, but my 9 y/o still enjoyed it. The park has 4 racketball courts and there are tennis courts too, I couldnt see inside them because they are surrounded by a green wrap, so that adds for privacy, I think theres at least 2 courts.Adjacent to all is a fun playground for little kids and parking
Great place. Enjoy seeing the dogs run around. Not so crowded which is nice. Kids enjoy themselves
We visited the park for the tennis courts during spring break and were lucky that they were available during our visit. Theres 4 tennis courts total and theres a divider fence between the courts to prevent stray balls from crossing over. One court had a little damage on it by the baseline, but the other 3 were in great condition. The court paint was in pretty good shape.Theres a small playground for the kids and racquetball/handball courts at this park. The parks assigned parking lot is not free. You have to download an application to pay and our hourly rate this visit was $2.10. However, if you get lucky theres plenty of free parking on the side street adjacent to the park. The park is right by the ocean so expect some humidity which is just fine with me.If were back in the area and looking to hack away some balls, West Newport Park is our first choice. Serve em up!
Close to the Pacific, small community and weekday parking
Newport is my favorite city
Meh
The prettiest beach line in Los Angeles area.
Great hiking spot
Its a clean beach. Very pretty.
Heaven on earth!!! So beautiful and peaceful!! Just what i needed. I LOVE it!!!
Exceptional Scenery and PEACE of MINDThee Counselor
I ride by everyday, at night. I hear the waves crashing. and wind blowing, i know the beach is there. during the day its hot. at night it is cool. stars. sometimes theres big giant clouds, that are darker than the night, wind
The beach is beautiful. And I love that it has a part for pets . The beach is very clean.
Beautiful day. Not too hot. Great bike riding
Very clean the people there are great nice v iew across the street from the beach
Used to be a great place to bring the pups.
Love this park by the beach ... Always great quality of stuff to play on
Free parking on streets, no rocks in the water, good scenery..
A nice beach with moderate to low visitors. You always get a nice spot here.
Nice views of sunset, nice sandy beach, and the people were fun to be around
Quiet Place. Nice Weather. Great
Love this beach very clean area
I moved to the East and wish I was still there. It is an idyllic location.
Very nice enjoyed my jog
Smoking hot blonde babes all day long in mini skirts to next to nothing bikini tops and bottoms
Is a beautiful clean beach and perfect to bring your girlfriend or your kids just a lunch the sunset
A super calm atmosphere! If chilling is your intent, intend to chill here!
Nice place to walk, walking out on the pier. Lots of people catching fish this evening.
Nice park. Relaxing. Waves are nice to watch. Some surfers out trying to catch waves.
I need to take pictures. This park is sage and dog loves it there. The breeze blows wotj a soft touch and the views...well I should have taken pictures. We will return. With pictures.
Fun to spend the day with friends and family
Cool little park
Three good things are... 1. you can find lots of free parking around here 2. you can take a walk or ride a bicycle and 3. you can get into the ocean.
Great place to walk or ride a bicycle.
Love to take the doggies
At night this is the place to be! Still walking along the beach for hours straight! Spotted all kinds of crabs between the rocks if you look hard enuf or sit around the rocks steadily one might climb right up beside me. I will try and post the pictures later! I love this place... Gotta go... Still here!
I really like the location of this park. It’s one of the best kept secrets in the area for being able to access the beach change clothes and clean off in a fairly effective way. It is somewhat amusing that the tennis courts next to the park have a sign up that says that you are not allowed to grow into grown or making those noises. The majority of the tennis players I know rent and grown so I am not sure why the sign exists in less the residents have complained about this problem in the past. The park is small but it is very convenient.
IT DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH PLACES. YOU NEED TO USE UBER . IT PEACE AND QUIET.
There is a good place to walk and the kids can play
Always great and full of fun in the sun!
A beautiful girl the beach a bicycle ride great tacos by the pier talk about la living.
Very nice, not to many people on the beach. Lots of surfers, but they stay out further in the water. Big rocks to walk on or fish off of, that extend about 30-40 meters into the ocean. A nice park with hand-ball courts, tennis courts, a kiddie park, and little dog park with bags area. Thats where you park to $1.75 per hour on weekends. Overall, a pleasuring place to be.
The area is nice but people are rude and snobby. Expensive too.
Is easy to get there and plenty parking parking is free after 6
This is truly a beautiful and peaceful place with an amazing view. We found several groups of people hanging out here with their dogs. You can see spectacular houses and palm trees. We happened to talk with a guy who gave us a whole history of the place. Easy to see why people hang out here.
NICE BOATS ON THE MARINA. GRASS, DOGS, PLAYING, SMALL PRIVATE PARK, RESERVATIONS FOR TWO LUNCH TABLES, SAND PIT, PLAYGROUND, NICE TREES AND BUSHES, WELL KEPT UP/
Surfing fun. Clean free parking. Nice beach
The perfect place to stop for a quick rest as you make your way south on PCH. Small but lots of (paid) parking.
Parking tricky but beautiful sunset with surfers and fishermen at sunset
