One of my preferred locations for tasty Spanish food. normally i would have posted a pic but food looked so good i couldnt stop. i had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here. feeling here is similar to a place in columbus i liked.

My favorite location for delicious Spanish food. the staff was sociable and attentive. the bill was decent. feels like a cafe in phoenix that i enjoyed visiting.

The place is cute and rustic and the food indescriptible good!Go for the Paella, totally worth it!

I go here for the octopus! they have a great happy hour during the day as well... definitely do not go there for a fancy environment. Looks more like a local hang out.

Amazing place, amazing food, drinks and the atmosphere are great!! The bartender/server Damary couldn’t be better, she gave us all attention, she took pictures of us and with us. Even with the bar busy, she was serving, talking, smiling and joking with everyone. we were about to eat and leave but she captivated us and convinced us to stay.We had a really great time and well definitely come back.

Great tapas, delicious brunch selection. We got there on Saturday morning without realizing they only serve brunch on sundays, and they let us order off the brunch menu anyway- great service! Also the Gaudi influenced architecture is gorgeous.

Place is very nice. Different. Seems like it could have a nice vibe. We didnt eat, so cant comment on that.

They serve the best drinks and deals. But most importantly their Paella is one of the best in Newark, NJ.

If you are looking for excellent authentic Portuguese food, this is the place for you. The food is fresh, well plated, flavorful and the service is impeccable! The cod fish Portugalia style is AMAZING, the grilled prime rib fillet is succulent and their homemade deserts are simply outstanding! The restaurant isn’t huge but as one would say great things come in small packages, this place is well worth the trip.

Nice spanish/latin american bar & restaurant with really cute bartenders. The prices are reasonable too. Downside is that I found their is only street parking and it’s full most of the time and the place is kinda small to eat during the rush hour. Great place great tapas great beers sangria is always on point as well! Favorite place to go watch the games with ample space and good food. The service is always pretty good as well unless it gets a little bit more crowded and even then theyre very attentive and sweet. Best tapa there are their take on croquettes

Place was understaffed. Food was good tho. Good price for bar food/drinks.Would recommend to staff properly for big events such as the UEFA Champions League final. Music was good.

Great place for Spanish style dishes. Food is delicious. Went for a private party upstairs. Nice that it was away from all the hub bub. Drinks were spot on. After dinner place turns into after hours dance party. Friendly staff. Gave it only 4 stars because parking is horrendous. They do have a parking lot but very small.

I came for the free dance lessons offered by Steve Santos, njsalsa.Catas had a special on the menu. Oysters Rockefeller it came with bread and homemade butter.it was excellent, the service was fast and friendly

I went there for Mothers Day (May 13, 2018). The atmosphere, the service and food was a five star. The owner was very friendly and welcoming to us. The only thing is theres no kids menu..but my 8 years old was able to get what she wanted I have posted a few picture of our foods order please enjoy

Comfortable with nice food options

Catas was a horrible experience. The servers were less then attentive. The food was as of my inexperienced 5,year old nephew would of cooked. Over priced like many other places in the area.A restaurant needs to love food as much as their clients do.

I dined at this establishment for my bday. I made reservations a week in advance. When I went in to inquire about my table they hadnt set it up and the gentlemen in charge could not find my reservation, that I made a week prior, in the book that he looked into. Moving on, the evening was nice and the waitress was quite attentive and as my friends trickled in, we ordered, and the food was served. Their empanadas were delicious and my salmon was tasty. The only thing I was bummed about was that they didnt turn their dining room floor into a dance floor as I had hoped. When I made my reservation I was very clear when I asked were there going to be any events that night or the next that would be preventing them from opening up the dance floor and the lady I made the reservation with assured me that there wouldnt be and the dance floor would be open. Other than that I shared some laughs and enjoyed a great meal.

Always the spot to go too.. guaranteed great vibes...food 5 star...culture 5 star and dj inside dance floor area off the hook lit... outside patio is the sheiiiit....gr8 place for banquets and wedding parties....

Delicious food, good music and dancing

Food was good, large size even for the tapas. The only issue was service. We went Valentines day because I was visiting my gf and I couldnt find many high rated restaurants in Newark. I figured this restaurant would have had better service given the size of the place and reviews they had. I wouldnt go back unless the service was better, but the food is good and priced fairly.

In love with the hamburgers, I like well done. This place knows how to do it, juicy and well done... good for family time and friends.

The food is amazing, and the architecture is really good. Service can vary a little bit, but honestly its pretty good most of the time, they definitely wont rush you. Its an excellent place to meet friends, drink and eat for an hour or two, for a pretty reasonable price.

Love coming to Catas for a drinks and tapas with my husband. Also a nice family dinner with our kids that are obsessed with their bread and butter. My favorite appetizer is the patatas mimosas. The staff is always friendly

Super fun! Especially for Pay-per-veiw viewings.

We stopped here after a TSO concert and it was excellent. Quality is was way up there, fresh, so sometimes the dishes take some time to come out. But that was fine with me because when they did, they were worth the wait.This is the kinda place where you go with the flow and enjoy the experience. We had a great time!

Order the mac and cheese and a sangria bucket. The grilled octopus tentacle was also excellent. Highly recommend before a Red Bulls game, easy walk to the stadium.

All courses were excellent. Timing of service allowed for conversation. Service was also excellent. The waiter was engaging and funny. An overall great exiperance. Cannot wait to go back.

If i could give it No stars I would,food was horrible and overpriced i ordered $15 garlic shrimp and tasted not fresh(frozen) and all butter not to mention got charged $10 cover charged when i arrived before 10:30pm while my friends never got charged that,ive been to alot better tapas bar than this by far this is the worst ive been to,Casad Paco takes a huge big dump on this place i definitely wont be coming back to this place.

I had my fiancees 50th birthday party here and it was wonderful! The food was excellent. The staff was organized and Ruben was very easy to communicate with. He always got back to me timely with any questions i had prior to the party and delivered on everything he said. All of our guests raved about the food and sangria and everyone had a great time. We cant wait to come back. Highly recommend this estsblishment!

Good bar gets backed. A little narrow bar so hard to work in and out of the bar. But good security. Fun location

An upscale yet friendly local place with great cuisine and friendly service. Amazing interior. On Fridays and Saturdays the place turns into a night club. It also gets very busy during soccer games

Relaxing atmosphere with a modern look. The menu had many options to satisfy your pallette. There is a full bar with plenty of drink options at a decent price. Above the bar are a few TVs covering local sporting events. They have a DJ some week days and weekends playing a variety of music.

Good food and drinks. Huka available. Can chill and watch games at fine dining and bar side. Dancing and more fun on the other side. Tables outside for food and drinks for nicer days.

Me and my family eat at Catas at least once a week. The food is excellent, its a fusion of the old world and new world. Very clean, great ambiance turns into a club/lounge at night. Food rocks. Croquetas from heaven and their soups are amazing... even their butter makes my mouth water. Fully stocked bar makes for a great spot to chill.

A very nice gathering place for Drinks and Food offerings specializing in well prepared Portuguese Cuisine. Very friendly, courteous and short wait service in both the Main and Bar dining areas.

For a $25 paella I received 2 shrimp, 2 mussels and 2 clams with about 6 cups of rice. No chicken, poor service, no drink menu and a hefty tip included in the bill.
