Traditionally, one of the most iconic spots in all of Manhattan..... This year, due to the Covid-19, it was basically empty in the days leading up to Thanksgiving... But I do envision this area coming back to be more enjoyable than ever !
I use to work here and its a really busy and hectic area, even during a pandemic. The manhattan mall is there and the back end of macys and ktown where are the delicious eats are!
Today was the first day I visited Herald Square area since April. It seems as if New York may be on its way back. Which is a great sign. There werent many places to visit nor eat due to Covid-19 and bankruptcy. But Shake Shack welcomed us with open arms. The park was clean, and seating was available. The area volume was lower than normal, it was to be expected. New York, were still the city that never sleeps, weve gotten plenty of rest though. Stay up, and make Hope stronger than all doubt .
I dig hanging out at this spot in New York City. It has a sense of internationality to it. As if youve just stepped into a James Bond film..subtle yet refreshing & complete with a spectacular Waffles & Dinges shop. There is a certain privacy to it as well..much in the realization youre not quite all out in the open. Really good for one of those more special and low key hanging out with friends.
This is also good place too rest up and reflex and you can set here to have lunch dinner or breakfast too. just by going accrost the street too any of the fine fast food restaurants and returning to your spot in the park.
Nice place to grab a seat and chill. Free WiFi is fast, which is always appreciated.
Great, even during this pandemic. Only problem I see is the people who wear gold jewelry and Jordan sneakers asking you for money. Besides that it is still fun and a good place.
Lots of stores have closed down however theyve added more outdoor seating . Macys is a great place to shop . its big, clean and cool. Lots of street venders with cheap gifts for tourists. Times Square is a 15-20 walk away so just wear your comfy shoes and Enjoy
I absolutely love walking through this park. Such a cute public pit stop for a breath of nyc air!
It is a place where you can sit and relax in the park. I hope the city will come back to full life in the near future after covid.
Coean good prices friendly ataff
Not the best not the worst place Ive been to need to be more clean
Herald Square is a perfect little spot to stop and rest between shopping. It is located near the main entrance of the Macy’s shopping mall and is also where you go to see the Christmas window displays. You can find metal tables and chairs scattered around for you to sit on and admire the awesome view of the Empire State Building.
Its nice there. Lots of shops around. Theres Macys, sephora, h&m, target, Victoria secret, zara, uniqlo and others.
Completely will try accessible, Although the atmosphere was open and welcoming to tourists there were also a few individuals who were using loud speakers to promote religious believes which makes it a little troublesome for anyone that is looking for a place to sit down and have a cashel conversation. The place was very clean although I was there just for about an hour.
It was small little park with tables and chairs to eat it is a great place you have macys next door
Herald squarea place I love to come to even during these difficult times. I get to feel like theres a sense of peace and restoration happening as we watch the world reopen and people try to get on with their lives...
Nice place to rest, except for the shady characters that hang out by chase ..they always doing their business
THE CITY SLOW RUN TOO THIS PANDEMIC DID KILL,BUT TREIR SLOW APROACH TOOK LIFES .GOD BLESS THERE FAMILIES
Easy to shop aroundmany places to get fresh foods of choice
A bit less crowded due to the pandemic, but still vibrant.
One of the most beautiful and crowded place in NYC.
It was a wonderful day and the shopping along with food was Amazing!!
Not as busy and crowded on streets, plenty of outdoor seating to eat outside curbside
Classic NYC mix of history and an ok design of public space, and neglected homeless people, beeping traffic and trash on the street.
Herald square is very iconic spot in NYC. I was shocked to see it almost desert. Just a few locals.
Cool to grab something to go and chill there
Great spot to sit and eat if you get take out
Nice park. Free wifi.
Nice sitting areas to people watch.
Macys 34th street
Cool its just 34th st lol
Nice place to sit and grab a bite on a nice day.
I have a love hate relationship with this place. Love it as its near every subway, path train and Nj Transit train you can imagine. Hate it for the crowds and overall depression factor. The park is decent for what it is but can be hard to find a place to sit. Watch your wallets and purses.
So peaceful not for long once nyc open back. up
A nice public square, closed to traffic with an incredible selection of stores nearby. There are also a number of subway lines (Q, N, B, D, M, R, W) that go right to the square. Its often busy (except early in the morning) so if you dont like crowds, avoid here, especially in the evenings. There are a few chairs and tables and a little green space where you can temporarily get a nature fix while in the heart of the city. Herald Square is one of the more touristy parts of Manhattan, but its not as crowded as Times Square.
Quiet place to read a Book or news in the middle of the city...
Nice place to have breakfast, with a good view on the Empire State Building...
Lots of great shopping, Macys is next door. You have to visit this area of Manhattan.
Its a nice area, see different nationalities come together.
I always find what I need for my home.
Krispy Kreme donuts
The LARGEST Urban Outfitters I’ve ever been in, even including a robust “UH Home” section which is more like a furniture and bedding showroom. Many stores don’t even carry the furniture.
Getting busy, stores open, fine summertime women
On a sunny beautiful day, it was a wonderful place to get your vitamin D and your sanity back. Highly recommended.
The homeless outnumber the regular people by 10 to 1
Very nice place to take a short break in a big city. Grab some food or just come and sit in a little park in the middle of the big city.
Herald Square is far more social to a degree in that you have more space to sit and lounge with everyone; whereas before you couldnt do it.
A wonderful experience.
Monumental landmark area in New York City oh, theres Transit right here and lots of local eateries and shopping. This is a very safe, clean and family-oriented area. If you are out of town come down near herald square and have a lovely day here especially in the summertime or around Christmas when everything is beautiful lights and decorations always up and bright!
Very nice & peaceful day in the city today!
One of the most busy parts of NYC in mid town Manhattan. It has a great view of the Empire state building. The worlds biggest store of Macys is also at this place. It is served by the M train to Brooklyn. It is accessible for wheel chair as well.
An enclosed park like area. Its a nice and quiet place. Non smoking zone. Have lots and chairs and tables to sit and have your food or even just chat for hours.
Great place to shop.
Beautiful spot to sit, eat, take pictures and just enjoy the sights.
A lot of homeless/poverty in the area...The mayor of New York isnt taking any responsibility for this.
Definitely reccomend getting halal food! I always get it and love it, it cost about 7 dollars for lamb/chicken over rice, and it is very filling.
Its Herald Square nicest and largest Macys. Lots of other stores in heart 9f tourist district
It is Macys central! The greatest store! The parade! A central focal point of NYC and a great place to be and people watch. And yes, the hammers swing to ring the bell.
Its totally different, you see alot of people who come from all over the world
Beautiful views and lots to do
Macys Herald Square, theres nothing like it and its open.
Macys 34th Street Manhattan the center of the world & one of Our favorite things shopping - full shopping bags charge it to the game
Great place to relax or enjoy your takeout. It was less crowded during my visit. I found myself a spot and enjoyed the delicious waffles from Wafels & Dinges thats located at the entrance. Theres a monument dedicated to James Gordon Bennett Sr. and his son. The contents are quite interesting; it consists of a large clock, a bronze figure of Minerva, the goddess of wisdom and invention, as well as two blacksmiths ringing bells. The bell rings according to the time of the hour of the day.
Very nice, clean fresh flowers all around the place. Seats, you can sit eat breakfast, take pictures, shopping at Macys, have fun. All at Herald Square.
Very nice place just to be!!!
I love this place.
Sweet.. free seating ...quiet too.. right in the middle of traffic jam every day....its comically but well designed and highly recommended lucky to get a seat...great statues.. a history too with outstanding horticultual deco to the plants and trees...cool spot too well shaded
Empire State Building was all green for the Eid
Quintessential NYC in the fall.
THIS IS MAINLY A SHOPPING AREA, SOME FOOD ACES TOO
YEAH KEEP YOUR MASK ON OUTDOORS HERE!!!
Great place to hang out
One the liveliest places after times square in New York City. You can eat, shop and roam around this place and there is plenty of chairs to seat if you tired of shopping and roaming around. Its connected to rest of US through NJ transit/Penn station and 33rd Street Path station for Jersey city and Newark City. Has biggest Macy store and Empire State building right on corner.
One of the oldest parks in NYC. Macys is next to it and the old mechanical ststue/clock is amazing
Fun place to walk around and get souvenirs if you are a tourist.
Right on the center of a great shopping neighborhood. And close to Korea town.
Too many homelessness and drug addiction people mess up the place
Good shopping and food options. Its a place where you get to see Empire State building up close. The atmosphere is enchanting. You need to go there if you are in NY.
Many stores, crowded ... theres krispy kreme nearby the area *inside penn station*
Its a sad sight
Elegant architecture all around.
Great place to hang.
Traffic y bike lanes are marked y they actually follow the road rules in. Very nice y clean. Lets if food places in the area, Manhattan Mall y Macys are across the street.
Good food and good people
A great place to shop! And We did a Vision Zero press event
....LOVE....IT!!!!
Its peaceful in the shade with places to sit
Relaxing comfortably and see crowded shoppers stop and take a nice picture with the Màcys background cool place to check it out
Midtown manhattan is a dump.
