Beautiful bridge and views of the city. A marvel of architecture and engineering. One of many amazing New York City brides.
The view is breathtaking. Being in Roosevelt Island between Queens and Upper East skylines is part of those king of unique things that just New York City seems able to offer. I came back in evening. I consider this place a gem. My advice is to just take the F line and stop in this little, amazing Island.
Its a bridge. One of the few you dont have the pay in the city to cross, BUTTTTTT I TOTALLY RECOMMEND DRIVING THROUGH THE UPPER ROAD. either direction is fine, you have theost fantastic view of midtown driving into the city and an even better view of LIC driving back into queens. I always take my friends that travel outside from of the city across the bridge as an entrance to the city
Ed Koch Was a great mayor he gives a real sense of New York who have New York of the people of New York was happy probably every day of his life never seen him upset and he was just a jolly person remind me of a grandpa from the Munsters So it causes definitely missed Hope he’s rest in peace, Anthony from New York
You can take a long walk on the pedestrian bridge with a beautiful view. Downside is you share with pedestrians and cyclists traveling both ways on a narrow path. Find out the off peak hours to avoid that.
I work here and i really just want google to stop asking me every day.
Wonderful view especially when getting ride with Tramway over the Hudson River. to watch my video..go to You tube with name, Steve Duman/ ROOSEVELT PARK/AIR TRAMWAY
Fun bridge to walk. Much more peaceful than the Brooklyn Bridge due to the lack of tourists
As youre walking over the bridge be very very careful bicycles a speeding past you and coming at you and they even have motor scooters with gas doing 50 miles in the walkway be very careful otherwise its one of my favorite Bridges
While walking over the bridge you have a beautiful view
First time for my husband and I to walk through the bridge from Queens to Manhattan Awesome views It was amazing, we love it
When you sometimes wanna just jump and do a free dive than again you think about it oh what a great sceneries.
While visiting and touring this city of New York the Queenboro Bridge sites was great this times of year. I suggest when youre in the city please take a tour.
If youve got 15 bucks and a spare 10 minutes, you can have brilliant time here
Nice bridge. What can one say about a bridge? Lol
Beautiful architecture, but always way too much traffic. We live on Roosevelt island and its super annoying that we cant walk on this bridge, and use it to get into Manhattan, considering it sits on our island! Still, very pretty, makes my view from my apartment. My favourite of all the NYC bridges.
Its a good bridge with an amazing view. I just wished it had a bigger path for bicycles and pedestrians.
Walking across you can get great pictures of Manhattan and Queens
Awesome views & scenery, tourist can go back & forth ride using metro card.
Quick way to get across to the east side.
Its free to cross this bridge and you can see how beautiful new York is.
Nice view of Manhattans skyline.
Was a nice bridge. We walked over into Queens. The pathway for bikes and walkers was a little narrow but still safely passable. Took awhile to get over but to be expected as a walker with nerve damage in my left foot. Was a bucket list to walk over a NYC Bridge. Mission accomplished!
Super nasty for cycling with Citi bikes it has such a cold slopebut really nice to help you remain in shape, by walking or cycling, the view is terrific well you can try the tram and drop off on roosevelt island
Best seen from Roosevelt Island. There is a walkway on the base of the bridge and on the south side there is a park that you will be able to get amazing photosof the bridge, the river, Manhattan and the tram. Its a great day, especially with your significant other to spend half a day. There is a place to buy water and ice cream as you enter the Southpark. Then, you can walk to the southern tip of Roosevelt Island all the way to the edge. Very, very romantic in the evening. You can get there by train or the cable car, or... cayac... Or, you can also drive. The entrance is on Vernon Boulevard and 36th Avenue.
Very nice way to spend a couple of in the city, take the cable car to Roosevelt island and you could consider taking the ferry ride back to Manhattan all for just 2.85$ per trip
This bridge will take you from Manhattan and to Queens and back for free. There are no tolls on this bridge..yetThe ramp comes up fast on the Manhattan side and may have to circle around to get on.
It was experience to ride tram. But I was expected more long ride. Nevertheless I really enjoyed it.
It was only until we were driving over the bridge that I recognized where I was... The bridge from the opening titles of the TV show Taxi. I was amazed and it was awesome to experience after watching that show as child. The view from here is amazing too!
First, there does not seem to be a rush hour in NYC. Its just a “rush day” all day all time @ NYC.
What a nice find! This was not on our itenerry but I came upon it in my morning walk. Beautiful view from the bottom and the top.

I like to ride over it by bike. Sometimes the combined ped/bike path is crowded.
Easy drive on it hardly no delays
The ride across on the tram to Roosevelt Island was beautiful!!
Peaceful oasis in the middle of the East River with majestic views
Vey nice bridge connects Queens and Manhattan. There is a tram service if you would like to take back and forth between Roosevelt island and Manhattan. View of the bridge from Roosevelt is amazing.
Great view of the city and skyline and a good bridge to walk over.
The cable way is so cool. A view to the city. You can use the metro card. 2.75 per ride each way. Or use the 7 days pass. The island is free
Amazing views of the city and the bridge
Great way to. Go from LIC to Manhattan and vice versa
The tramway is amazing, because you get a wonderful view on roosevelt island. Go there and have a beautiful experience.
This bridge makes a beautiful view of the city.
Beautiful bridge.. Tram was awesome!
A spectacular bridge that foots on three different parts of New York. The tram to (or from) the Roosevelt Island alongside the bridge is definitely a marvelous experience for the price and time it barely takes.
Peaceful relaxing good place to meditate .
From Manhattan into Queens. Hard on the going up. A blast going down
Very steep for bike riding, but it is gorgeous
Old but majestic
You can walk or ride a bike. The view is good but blocked by the fence
Beautiful bridge.. Magnificent structure. Get on the Roosevelt Island Tram and get a closer look. Worth the ride!
I love the way Google asks if you about visiting a bridge... Yes bridges are beautiful, yes they are sightseeing objects of awesome wonder... But... I just crossed to get into Manhattan and back. Exciting I know. It served its purpose and got me to and from the island. The epitome of amazing usefulness and beauty turned mundane and utility. What can I say... Its part of the culture. I love this bridge I might add haha...
It’s the only bridge connecting Manhattan and Queens for bicycling. The pathway is shared with pedestrians and it’s a real mess. Hopefully the plans for a bike-only bridge can be approved and in a few years(?) maybe there will be another way to bike between these two boroughs.
Nice park just south on the Long island City side, have run over the bridge and now I have run under it as well.
He took the chair lift, was really nice exploring experience
This bridge has amazing views. I love being able to see the water connecting Manhattan and Queens. i always enjoy the view while walking or driving on this bridge. There’s usually always traffic, so that allows me to soak in the view. This is one of my favorite bridges because it connects my two favorite boroughs.
Its FREE. No tolls. You cant beat that. Avoid travel during rush hours especially going northbound towards FDR. Majestic views of the city from Queens
Nice bridge to walk over
One of my favorite bridges in Manhattan! Second after Beooklyn Bridge of course! Take the tramway and see it closer :)
Love this place! So many different ways to take photos here! Awesome in the summer!
A great walking/cycling cantilever bridge with historic value built in 1909 and renovated a few decades ago. Not as good for walking as the Brooklyn bridge that has a separate floor for walking/cycling, but still great. Views are tremendous and you get a great workout. If you live in LIC and need to get to Manhattan, pick up a CitiBike and zip across the bridge.
Big bridge wich connect with East Manhattan @nd Queens
100 years old bridge! Still looks stunning. The Good way to explore this bridge is either walk or biking.
Very nice experience n signature wolk for New York. USA
Nice bridge nothing to do there though
The pedestrian entrance on Queens side took a bit of time to find, but it is on Crescent and Queens Plaza. The pedestrian and bikeways split into thin sections on one side of the bridge. The edge over the land and water has a tall fence around a smaller fence. The view is fine once over the water. You can see Roosevelt Island and Manhattan as you cross. No spoilers. Go there to experience and/or photograph the sight. I estimate the walk is 45 min to an hour the first time and 30-45 the following times. Try biking through it one day too.
Using this bridge to get back to Queens is a great way to save yourself a toll and we use it when we are visiting Midtown.Traffic on the weekends is usually light on the bridge.
Night view is wonderful
Awesome bike riding over the Queensboro - but the city and DOT need to keep one side for cyclists and the other outside lane for pedestrians. Until then, be aware of your surroundings and keep out of each others way. Its beautiful at golden hour and sunset!
On June 03 2018 .it was Sunday I rode a bicycle cross this Bridge. Now I am reviewing where had I been to at midnightOn June 05 2018. About 1:40amThe Queensboro Bridge, also known as the 59th Street Bridge – because its Manhattan end is located between 59th and 60th Streets – and officially titled the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, is a cantilever bridge over the East River in New York City that was completed in 1909. It connects the neighborhood of Long Island City in the borough of Queens with Manhattan, passing over Roosevelt Island. It carries New York State Route 25 and is the westernmost of the four East River spans that carry a route number: NY 25 terminates at the west (Manhattan) side of the bridge, which once carried NY 24 and NY 25A as well. The bridge is flanked on its northern side by the freestanding Roosevelt Island Tramway. The bridge was, for a long time, simply called the Queensboro Bridge, but in March 2011, the bridge was officially renamed in honor of former New York City mayor Ed Koch.
Nice area to sit
Crowd, busy and beautiful view
Nice chill spot to have a small gathering for BBQ. Plus more....
Food was good. Basic diner feel. No heat in the building was a downer. Bloody Marys were good!
A handsome bridge. Great views from Roosevelt Island.
Queensboro Bridge has a nice walking path between Long Island City and Manhattan. Just stay aware of your surroundings; cyclists often race by on the walking side of the path.
The city seen from the Queensboro Bridge is always the city seen for the first time, in its first wild promise of all the mystery and the beauty in the world.
100 year old bridge, strong and great.
I love the 59th st bridge. A landmark for us from queens and all new yorkers.
One of the best places to see beautiful Manhattan from the east side. We took the tram to the Roosevelt island and there is a nice trail around this island.
The steel architecture is stunning, I strongly advise to take the tram (téléphérique en français) in the late afternoon. The bridge catches the sun which reveals its features, lovely
Great looking bridge. The tram ride is a must to get a really good view of it.
My Favorite Bridge that I see 2020 good eye vision
The 59th Street Bridge, of Simon and Garfunkel fame (Feeling Groovy) has lovely picturesque architecture and is best viewd from the parallel Roosevelt Island tramway. Not a lot of fun to drive across.
Beautiful bridge with gorgeous views.
Its cool to take the tram or walk over, but besides a nice view there is not much else to do.
Its the easiest incline of the group vs Williamsburg and Brooklyn Bridges. So its got that going for it. A nice NYC architectural experience, because of the age of the bridge surrounded by both ancient elevated train architecture and contemporary buildings. Views of Manhattan are limited but interesting through the bridges ironwork. Great view of Roosevelt Island and the cable car that connects it. If youre in Manhattan going over, theres really nothing to do on the other side. Not much in the way of other bike paths to take you anywhere else. We did it traveling south on 2nd Ave on our way to the lower east side. It was a fun detour and a crossing just because. But I wouldnt make an event out of it.
Beautiful place for walk with family and nice for photos i love it !!
This is a love hate relationship here. But gotta say, seeing Ed Koch wave at traffic that one day I’ll never forget. God bless him. Negative 100 stars for the thousands of hours I sat in traffic on this bridge, but plus 105 stars for the direct shot in the heart of Manhattan. Also love biking on the bike path.
It was a wonderful bicycle trip. We took a bicycle from citi bike for $12 a day and travel along the bridge in 20 minutes. It was great exercise and scenery and lot of fun with friends. Then we use the bicycle service to visit several interesting points in Manhattan.
Awesome architectural amd engineering structure
Impressive structure and adjacent cable car
Yes, you can bike or walk across the bridge. Just make sure youre on the right side (the side facing the Bronx and away from Manhattan). The other side is not accessible. Bikers and pedestrians share the same path, which is not only annoying but also unsafe. Like other bridges in the city, the path is fenced off with industrial wire (for obvious reasons) but you can peer through the holes to take photos. The skyline view is not as dramatic as on the other side but its picture worthy. For panoramic views of the bridge, head to Roosevelt Island, the midpoint of the bridge. There is an elevated area there, south of the Cornell University campus, with sweeping views of the bridge. Unfortunately, there is no way to reach the island via this bridge. You can take either the F subway train or the Roosevelt Island tram.
Used to use for commuting. It always goes with cherished memories of NYC.

Very congested during rush hours.
