I love NY Theater Workshop for its artistic choices and as a place to work. Im excited for when theater can come back.
Overall, a nice experience, the staff was lovely. Seats have very good legroom. Lobby is a bit small so if youre seeing a show on a cold day you might have to wait outside.
Great production unusual setting g funny, and a view of life abs people not usually discussed in mainstream media
Love the ambience here. Saw Endlings - I think this was the best theater to do it in!
What we saw was wonderful. This is a breath of fresh air when you are tired and want to relax your soul. Thank you guys for the great work.
A very nice theater experience. The actor was excellent with his 1 man show and minimal props. The plot of the Boarders Play however is lost after the first 1/2 hour. I would love to see it expanded into a full production done as a throwback dream for a guy trapped in a customs cell for 7 hours.
Funky and cozy little off-Broadway venue. Quality productions, often moving to Broadway.

Been a member for many years _edgy excellent
The Production I saw was Amazing! This House Cant Stand. Its a lovely house comfortable seating. Its a little out of the way but very nice space. The staff was super nice I only wish there were concessions and a better bathroom.
They continue their streak of the most enlightening theatre in town. BRAVA/O/X
NYTW productions are usually top notch - I would take a risk on anything they put on. The venue is comfortable - with a gentle slope & shallow stairs for those of us with bad knees.
The experience is different depending on the show. But the theater is nice, the chairs are comfortable and theres virtually no bad seat on the house. The curator has had some excellent shows lately.
The acting is top notch but the shows are usually extremely depressing. My husband and I have had season tickets for the last two seasons but were not renewing this year (2018-2019) because of the content. Better to pick individual shows that youre interested in.
17 Border Crossings was very enjoyable. Nice little theater in East Village.
Staff was really rude at the ticket counter when picking up my tickets - mustve had a rough day or something. The space and show itself was great! Really like the seating and the stage transitions that are possible. They do a lot for the size of the stage! Theres only one bathroom here which led to a pretty long line up after the show was done. Not my fave theatre venue but okay.
Hurricane Diane was lots of fun. Legroom galore. Tiny lobby, big theater. Not a bad seat.
The House That Will Not Stand is a moving, interesting and hilarious piece about a little know part of history. I know many who have seen it MULTIPLE times and I might join them! I think you can rely on New York Theatre Workshop to have something interesting on their stage at all times.
Intimate setting for: In the Penal Colony physical play
I didnt love the particular show I saw last time I was there. However, NYTW consistently presents thought-provoking and intriguing theater. Its one of my favorite theater organizations in the city and a great space for seeing plays in.
One of my favorite theaters in New York. A must do.
Performance was outstanding but event staff especially the transvestite at ticket booth should lose attitude if they seriously hope for future donations to the theater. The staff call visitors patrons then speak to them and order them around like they are children! Not to mention the horror experience of hauling people like cattle through random parts of theatre then rushing them to use toilets only to walk back into theater and be asked to show tickets for fear of theft during the intermission!
A great venue to see new plays. They have a history of producing successful and influential new work, and on average, the things Ive seen there have been of very high quality with great production values. The staff is friendly and the venue is comfortable. I would see most anything they produce!
Great cutting edge theater. If youre local, a student, or an artist, they have an excellent rush policy
Great off Broadway theater with many outstanding productions
Love the idea, the play I saw was middling but the whole spirit of the place is great
See Hurricane Diane. Its tremendous!
Great experience... Love the work there
Imagine being in a room with less than 150 people, and if youre in the front row your feet are resting on the stage. Now imagine an A-List actor like Daniel Craig walking up the aisle to do a Shakespearean monologue 8 inches in front of your face. Thats new York Theatre Workshop. Well worth the price.
I cant imagine any seat in there being a bad view. Its a small theater, so no matter what you can see everything.
Must come to see Sing Street
Saw An Ordinary Muslim, great writing and acting all around.
Great place to see top-notch Off-Broadway theater.
NYTW is a place where art is cultivated, ideas are nurtured and imaginations take wing and soar.
Nice theater...all seats are good
Amazing little black box theater with top notch productions
Brilliant, challenging theatre. Othello was really well done.
Consistently challenging and entertaining work at good price point.
Very high chance of seeing an excellent, thought provoking production in this theater. Worth it to be on their mailing lists.
