This review is specifically for Department of Performance Studies that I graduated from in 2010. I felt the syllabus was really colonized by queer studies in way that made my education feel co-opted and not at all like an education. There are thousands of years of performance history across the globe Im not sure how Queer Studies got to be the true nature of the department. And I say this a gay man. There were many good professors though like Deborah Kapchan and Diana Taylor.

Good place to adventure.

Its a beautiful school with passionate teachers, no help button and will change your life in a profound and neccessary sense.

Tisch is a terrible school in terms of how it treats its students and their education. Deans have no idea how to deal with complaints, preferring to brush them off and force students to learn in mentally unsafe environments. The school has a lax policy on enforcement against bullying and is not above blaming the victim rather than the perpetrators. It is clear the administration does not understand or read its own bylaws on student safety and protection. 0/10 would not recommend. If you want to improve as an actor, go to another school.

Tisch is nothing but excellence. Its a safe space to grow and thrive. No place like it.
