We wandered the galleries to preview a few lots prior to bidding. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist. There was loads of space for social distancing. Specialist were eager and available to answer questions. If you have some time and money, swing by to preview a few lots to feather your nest.
Like a museum only better. Its constantly rotating selection of art make it a prime place to see work from some of your favorite artists.
Best auction house. Love Christies, their auction exhibits are always beautiful and exciting. I have even attended a conference there and that was very well done.
Ive never visited Christies before the GeorgeMichael art auction. Did you know its always free to visit? Did you know they have guest lectures? Its a beautiful gallery with diverse exhibits. Ill definitely visit again.
Love it. Excellent article collection for the viewing. Knowledgeable and helpful stuff. Easy access from public transport. Subscribe to the house newsletter to have early notice for the auction events.
ART LOVERS dont overlook the soon to be auctioned art that is on exhibit here. Check before you come. Three large floors that can be completely filled with fine art, or something totally different that rich folks want to sell. Sometimes art from some of the greatest artists in the world. Free of course.
This place is awesome we had a fabulous time
Obviously, a beautiful array of art and jewelry. Well worth a visit
Christies has successfully sold at auction one of our families paintings by Botero and were very pleased with the results as well as how generously we were hosted by Emma, Marisol and Elizabeth. Great team, great results and of course this was a big success for the buyer, on this first round investment of a previously uncatalouged master work. Remember, their 20 Rock location bares the actual navigational address of 58 W 49th St, the entrance is open to everyone and you are welcome to come in and simply have a look. I know youll see some amazing pieces of art and youll have a peek into the world of coveted private art....wonderfully, now available to the world. Recommended
Can be a good place to browse all sorts of art, jewelry, etc., just check the website for the viewings in New York so that you know what is on exhibit / up for auction soon.
Too bad Im only visiting, I wanted to place offers but most of the watches I like were online only or on a later date that I wouldnt be there. Other than that, seeing auctioned items personally is an experience on own.
At Christies you can see very famous Art objects
You find the best artwork in the world, and something that museums don’t have: their prices. That makes the visit much more fun and interesting.
A global institution that offers unique access to the wealthy of the world who appreciate fine art.
Very Unique!! Peacful, Colorful,Atmoshere.
Havent been there much may be once but just wonderful place great hospitality
There is a reason why Christies is known as the best auction house in the world. I had a fantastic experience working with the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art team. They were extremely organized and excellent communicators. The whole experience consigning, shipping and marketing my piece was very smooth and professional. Highly recommended.
Beautiful, however fleeting, collections of oft-obscure art and other famous works, including furniture and jewelry.
I love coming to their open house. You see really important people walking in the galleries with you. Very cool. Of course, the art is very awesome to look at as well.
You can actually find some nice pieces at Christies
I hope they realize that this $5 million Monet is missing!
What can I say, its Christies. Exquisite shopping for those with discerning, and super expensive tastes. Regardless of the current auction, a great place to see great art that you can take home, if you are the winning bidder.
Great place to visit during the weekend.
Interesting art and auctions going on. Beautiful art work as well.
Amazing auction house with an outstanding experience in auction industry.
Next exhibition opens on Sep 6th
The place to go if interested in buying fine art. The do quite a few viewings that are open to the public as well.

I love the auction house Christies New York, I always visit it. Great paintings and sculptures
Cool to see since I have been buying things from there but it was closed when I went. Disappointed.
Oh Christie’s ! You are the place where I can check everything off my wishlist!
Love it
Went for Fathers Day for the David Gilmour guitar exhibit. Nice people, very fancy. I dont think I could buy anything from here though... waaaaay too expensive
Christies does a nice job with its art displays, and we had a good time looking at all the things on offer. We also saw a presentation about the works and they did a nice job with that as well. If youre considering attending an event there, Id recommend it.
Best free gallery in the city, when they have a show up that is. The auctions are fun too.
We were lucky enough to be able to see the David and Peggy Rockefeller pre-auction. Who knows if or where we can see those incredible works of art in the future because they will be bought by people around the world. How wonderful that the proceeds of this art will go to charities here in the USA.
Everyday I look forward to browsing the Christies Auction site for new & exciting art work! I am always very pleased because of the fantastic pieces I find. I love to watch their videos they are both fun & very informative! Thank You for taking the time to make this site & this auction so great! Ethan K.
I wish I could afford. Just looking for now
Wasted hours trying to sell a painting here. After four weeks of waiting, they told me that the painting does not appear to fall in the category or value level that Christies handles. I was never told how much a painting must at least be worth to be sold. Waste of time. Dont attempt to sell here if youre not selling a million dollar painting.
Great auction house almost always has some beautiful works on display for free anyone can walk in and enjoy them eaquel to going to a museum
Fancy Dancy
I signed up on their online auction site and as a courtesy to new customers, they offer a free appraisal of an item. I have an old Native American beaded dress that I wanted to know the value of so I took photos, measurements, and uploaded all this onto their website. Then I completed their online form about the description of the item, etc. Total time spent was about an hour. I received the email from them that they had received my submission and that they would get back to me within a couple of weeks.A couple of weeks go by and I get an email from a Lucy H.(Google does not allow the use of full names) stating that they do not do appraisals on Native American artifacts - WHAT? I had spent an hour of my time getting everything to them and nowhere on their website do they have a list of items that they dont do appraisals on. Nowhere on their website do they state they dont do appraisals on Native American artifacts. I called and spoke with a very rude lady named Kerri and she just argued with me. I told her to have a supervisor call me back so will wait and see if they do.So a warning to anyone signing up on their website, dont fall for the Free Appraisal scam they have listed on their website that they use as a carrot to dangle in front of you just to trick you into signing up on their website; otherwise you will probably be wasting your time just like I did. One hour of my time totally wasted because of this scam.
Good for tourists.
One of NYC famous Art and high end Art galleries
This is it for design, antiques and art
One of the best auction houses I know -they received some very good biddings for art objects. For me as expert for drawings and paintings I can highly recommend Mr. Furio Rinaldi -as well as Mr. Bernheimer for antiques. In comparison with the Paris and dutch Departements this is very much better
Christies without a doubt is the number one, premier place not only for auctions but viewing of the master works of art, always available for free, a few days or a week or more before the auction dates, is a not miss experience for New York City. Recently, before the days of the auctions of 20th Century Art, Modern Art and American Art, the free viewing of these masterpieces & more, it was a fantastic time for everyone including myself; you can take lots of photos, without flash of course. The staff at Christies is just wonderful. They are so professional, knowledgeable and take great care of everyone visiting. I go to Christies probably about 10 times + a year. The other auction houses, that you can look, are nice, but Christies in my book is number one and right in the center of Rockefeller Center, 49th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. Dont miss it! Check their website and see when the dates of the upcoming New York auctions are, go there and be amazed for the viewing days and the auctions of course.
Definitely worth a visit to this iconic business
Great auction experience
It has many beautiful painting or art work.
I was in this building for Art at School. The building has class. My daughter love it.
Great place, beautiful
As a collector and now retired newspaper reporter, the staff at Christie’s New York was most helpful in providing background on important sales.
Always learn something new at an auction preview.
World Class auction house. Browse at your and your bank accounts own risk. :/)
Incredible exhibits for impressionist auction
Great place to visit Great art works and clean environment.
I love this place..always the best exhibition ...and for free
Just facts: Im a known customer and wanted to purchase a watch in an online sale. Before the auction they didnt request me the optional Id card and proof of address. I paid immediately the watch by credit card with an $ 190 extra cost for standard Dhl shipping (crazy) and it arrived 19/01/2018 just because I insisted. Duties charged on me $ 765, duties paid by Christies $ 645.
Great place, there is a free entrance gallery with very good paints. I went there to see Salvatore Mundi, anexo amazing masterpiece from DaVinci.
Worst experience I have ever had with an auction company for selling items.Did everything they requested, paid to have all items professionally wrapped by PostNet for shipping and moved it to the New York area, then they wanted me to unwrap it all and take new pictures, do not waste your time and money!
Auction House with international Arts.Free showings before the actual auction.
Great when youre able to get an invite and sit-in on some of the crazy auctions they have here. Numerous works of art and rare items from around the world.
I was fortunate enough to go on a behind the scenes tour. Its a really extraordinary place
Very interesting art gallery!
The best place to visit for free in nyc
Iconic auction host near Rockefeller Center.
Never miss their spectacular spring and fall Impressionist/Modern/Contemporary exhibitions. And remember its free to look.
The worst auction house i have ever been. I just entered and they kicked me out because i wasnt their type of client definetly racist.
There’s good stuff here and it’s free.
A hidden gem. A place to see great works of art and rare items.
Im trying to find out how to submit a tapestry for appraisal, possibly dated back in the late 1800s early 1900s. Please send me any information on how to do this.
Fun to see what is going to be auctioned. Fun to sit in at the auction.
Worth all your time to have a personal consultant source for you. Amazing working relationship with Drew.
Great place to find some incredible items.
Always awesome collection to look at, whether its watches, art, furniture, etc.
Alexandra Mor collection at Christies New York was Fabulous
Amazing artifacts (art) from many parts of the world from exclusive collections
I prefer Sothebys location over this Midtown gridlock
- This is a museum- I liken it to MoMA- You can easily kill two hours here just browsing around.- They have everything from furniture, to artwork, to sculptures- Free bathrooms and WiFi are a plus- Awesome experience
