Edit 7/2/17This course has become UNPLAYABLE. Uncut on a Sunday. The fairways and greens are DIRT with tall weeds in spots. The rough is so high that finding a ball is beyond difficult. All the bunkers are full of water, 10 to 20 inches deep. The TEE boxes are so over grown that you cannot hit the ball cleanly without hitting grass first even on a tee.More expensive then most BETTER courses in the area.Golf somewhere else.Original review. (3 star, November 2016)Par 68, short course. 4800 yards from the tips. Easy to find and very nice pro shop and bar. Green fees are fair. NO PRACTICE RANGE OR PUTTING GREEN.The course is VERY tight with trees or water lining each fairway which makes for a challenging round. You wont need your driver until the back nine. There are many scenic holes including a fun semi- island green 110 par 3 and a couple blind shots to the fairway.This course has the potential to be a truly great course, but poor greens, weedy fairways and shaggy tee boxs made the round almost unplayable. The greens had anywhere from rough spots to POTHOLES on every green... all over the green.

Played this course 2 years ago and it was in great shape: green, watered, etc. Played it again recently and its a disaster. Its like playing on the beach. Tee boxes are dry and weeded, fairways are brown, and the greens are patches of loose, dry dirt. Will not play there again. I would give it zero stars, but it wont let me.

This has to be worst conditioned course I have seen in 35 years of golf.

Course needs a lot of work. Greens are rough, tees are rough. Started later than scheduled due to club not being open even though we reserved a time. Lots of muddy areas near the fairways.

The Links Rest at was closed for a few days and the reasoning is 29 violations When new ownership took over I thought this was an awesome place I was so VERY wrong! Sadly, PLEASE be aware of public notice from State Inspection in May 2019 too many pgs to post. Now upgraded pool green alage this past Saturday. New Owners are worse than original as some of you say. Id personally want to know this info before entering.

This is a good layout,but the course is in bad shape! Thats being kind, seriously the potential to be back the way it used to be is there but it is not run well. Still playable but if you are looking for a place thats in good shape go elsewhere.

Hosted a baby shower there and was told we could use their dinning hall then when we came in the next day to scout they changed their mind after keeping us up till midnight the day prior.we were then told we could use the public side due to another event happening in the dinning hall hours after our partywe get there to set up and was given dirty looks by the waitress and a grill memberwe start our party and was being constantly starred out by workers with dirty stareswe were also told that since we were on the public side we could stay a little longer then the time we wouldve got in the dinning hall since the dinning hall party isnt using the public side but when it came close to the time we were told to turn off our music and get out by someone from dinning hall party.also some off our food was taken by workers and the person from the other party who came earlyalso the day of our party we got to the place and was told we couldnt have outside drinks because they wanted us to buy something. so we wasted money on drinks. the drink pitcher we got was also horrible. watered down uncarbinated sodawe were treated unwelcomingly with dirty stares and was rushed outsomeone from the other party even came through our party area told us to clear the walk way when she had another door to go through which was closer to there party areawill no recommend hosting parties there. bad service. shouldnt be starred down dirty and feel unwelcomed when Im trying to celebrate my childs arrival

Wonderful people and a beautiful place!! They have lovely event space and they are friendly and easy to coordinate with. They also give back to the community!!! A+

The place is a dump. The greens are like a world war 1 battlefield with trenches and bomb craters. Tee boxes unkept and sporadic with grass. Fairways are just bad. Yardage marker for 100 yards is just wrong on some holes.

This is a cow pasture at best....save your money!!

Is a nice big pool you can enjoy yourself do they eat there at the clubhouse so peace and quiet up there their neck of the woods

You cant beat the price! Your playing in the winter/snowbird part of the year for under 30 bucks after 1pm. Just remember where your playing and the price you are paying. Its not Augusta, but it is still a nice course for the price. Played my first round of golf here in 1995. Also, new owners have done a great job!

Previous owners neglected course until it was unplayable. Kudos to new ownership and management team that have made the course enjoyable again. It is still a work in progress, but the effort shows and hopefully it will be the fun track that it once was!

As for the combined Riva Ridge Golf and Country Club.....my wife and I had attended many banquets/parties there and had recently used the facilities for our wedding renewal of vows attended by some 65 people. The catering, food, preparation, service and attention to detail remains exceptional. The room was beautifully appointed and the food amazing. I would recommend this venue without hesitation. Chef Lewis is a master of cuisine and the manager Paul ensures everything is perfect toyour liking. Prior to the party, Paul arranged tee time for myself and guests and everyone had ablast.....perfect combination......golf and a party. If you are looking for a good time....remember this place and its wonderful dedicated staff.

Worst golf course in Florida and the manager is a jerk. Ive never written a negative review, but I had to for this course. Trees overgrown on the cart path will hit your cart/golf bag. The greens and the tee boxes are just dirt and weeds. No water to drink on ththe course. When I asked the only guy working inside, he laughed whens i asked for free water. You couldnt pay me to come back to this course. Its a shame because the course layout looks fun, but there is literally 0 upkeep. Whoever the owner is needs to sell the course and go back to school. A kid could maintain the course better than these fools.

Golf course in ruff condition, tee boxes un mowed, greens made ball hop, no yard markers and this big gator scared my wife, paid for 18 left after nine, didnt even ask for refunds, they need the money!!

Horrible greens. Pour layout

Not the best. Complained about rental clubs and got a very rude reply. Clubs were from the last century. Course is not at all in a good shape and holes are very short. Greens are uneven and small. The old gentleman that greeted us after the round was pleasant and the only positive thing during the round.

Great place to try. Cooks Gary, Jimmy and Chuck do a great job. Stop by and give it a try......

I think this is a great little value course. It is certainly not a 1 star or unplayable course. The weather does take its toll on the fairways in the summer but such is golf. Not all courses have lavish budgets. For the whiners, I say learn how to hit tight lie shots! Its a helluva lot easier than out of the rough! One last accolade:River Ridge was rated Most Improved Course in The Tampa Bay Area on Golf Advisor! ~February 2017

Im not surprised to see the reviews by amateurish people below. As a real golfer you would ask how the shape is of the course, greens etc. Before you play. They were very honest and told me that much of the course including the greens were replanted and in process of growth. I didnt play but had one of the best breakfasts ever. Great people and Ill be back to play.

Fairways and greens need work

Id just like to say in the 25 years Ive been playing on this course this is the absolute worst Ive ever seen it. Two swingers were getting it on behind 8 green with moans so loud I have been medically diagnosed with the yips. My putting stroke will never be the same. Id also like to acknowledge the lack of effort put into the water coolers. I took a cup of water from each cooler strictly for the purpose of testing the ph levels of their water. I was surprised to find high levels of acidity, as well as experiencing temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. My mouth has received stage 12 degree burns which will require complete dental reconstruction. I am concerned with other low scoring athletes who decide to play this dreaded course. I hope this review is helpful. Make today a wonderful day and golf at some other establishment for gods sake.

The course is a mess.. tee boxes are sand and greens are half dirt. I only. Give it 2 stars because of the challenge of the course itself.

The back nine is almost unplayable. Greens are so bad. I live near here and played many times, and I dont understand the reviews .Front has been destroyed by boars . I am sorry but it may be worse course I ever played.Omg. Update. This is crazy. Ten bucks for cart and 18. Trick is their isnt 18 holes playing. People who live behind gate are real jerks. Complain about lawn mowers who are cutting course. Why did you move into a golf community and not want golf. Its hilarious. These people dont even want golf carts in neighborhood. Sorry, the back nine is behind the gate. If you dont want golfing activities then move.

Friendly people, good fairways, and the greens are excellent. Yes you get to see wildlife.

Good course for us amateurs! Decent prices, but could use a little upkeep. Well be back.

Nice course, a bit rough but fun to play

This course is a complete dump its inhabited by mean horseflies and underage kids drinking and smoking pot all over the damn course. If you are looking to get baked as hell and have the shittiest time in your life come to this course. To be honest I wouldnt be suprised if someone caught syphilis here!

This place is under construction for their front 9, and the back 9 is like playing in the woods. The fareways and greens are unkempt, the boxes are moved around (one par 4 was shortened to a par 3 with no mention on the scorecard). Dont waste your time here, this place is a mess right now.

We always have fun at River Ridge golf club. Very economical golfing.

It is a nice little practice course. Sure its in bad shape but its a fun course to play on for a unbelievable small cost. Its great for practice!

They need to close the front 9 until it can get in better shape, otherwise good place to play, inexpensive, and cold beer.

Worst course conditions ever. If you like to putt on a bumpy trench war zone this course for you. Dont expect to tee off off a nice grass tee box because its all dirt and yard grass that is over grown. However it is a very scenic course with lots of wild life. That is the only good thing about this course I can say.

Tee boxes need grass fairways need grass greens need to be rolled the whole course needs watering on the plus side the beer is cold

Kind of slow...dead.... definitely need to revive the place...make it more interactive for the community.

Perhaps the first nine holes are mostly short distance (par 3/4), the environment is astonoshingly beautifull and quiet.

A short course made difficult by water, trees and homes lining the fairways. An above average test for recreational golfers.

Friendly and beer is cold. Back nine really fun to play. Greens patchy. Tee boxes patchy. Tight fairways.

Not the best or the worst par 68 course, but good rates and availability

The plane is falling apart, course is in very BAD shape. Not worth the money.

Owner needs to get it together and turn this place around.

The course should just be shut down at this point and maybe someone else will want to build more houses on it. Sad to say it has only gotten worse.

They are all around an ambarrassment to pasco its worse than moon lake.

Place is terrible, course is in horrible shape and they were running sprinklers on the whole course at 3 on a Saturday afternoon. Tried to get my money back after 2 holes after getting soaked on the tee box. Only to get denied my money back and get into it with the grounds keeper who is complaing to about the $10k he spent on grass seed. In conclusion the place sucks.

New Management

Been living in the gated River Ridge Country Club for almost 13 years and the builder decided to not renew our contract. HE CLOSED THE POOL AND THE EXERCISE ROOM!!!! This is part of the reason we moved in here. How can we live in the gated country club subdivision and NOT be able to use 1/2 of the club!!

A bunch of rude kids working here. Too bad.
