Bought a fish and inverts online. They made sure I would be available to receive the shipment in person before they shipped. Why doesnt everyone else do that? Ive come home from work to find boiled fish before, but not with Salty Bottom Reef.Everything arrived happy, healthy, and alive. The provided instructions for acclimation were great if you arent familiar with drip acclimation.I will 100% buy from again.

I keep a simple 20 gallon tank with a canister filter, but over the past couple of years Ive added live ocean floor, rubble and coralline rock from Salty Bottom to bolster the tank. I now have tunicates, cup corals, snails and fan worms have survived over a year in the tank. The live ocean floor is the best looking substrate Ive ever seen.

I love the fact they contact you for the best day for your order to arrive. That makes it way easier that your not juggling your schedule. Live critters deserve the best care they can get and not be sitting outside your door all day.Also everything arrived in great shape! All still doing well 2 weeks later.

To start, I hate leaving bad reviews. I ordered from this company because their prices were great, and the reviews seemed good. However, 3 of the 5 fish I ordered died within a week. We will see how the other 2 go still in quarantine. When I emailed them they replied that they only have a dead on arrival policy. It could have been my fault I guess; however, Ive been keeping a saltwater reef for 3 years and freshwater fish for 30. Ive ordered online from other places as well, and have never had a fish die on me. Just wanted others to be aware. I will say they were very helpful during the ordering process.

Ordered a snowflake eel, and was so excited when it finally arrived. When I opened the box I wasn’t surprised to notice the cut on the eel considering how far it had traveled. I tried everything possible to try, and get it to eat with no luck. After not even three days it passed away. Would not recommend this place to anyone. These are nice people, but they need to stand behind their product.

These guys are awesome!! Customer support was absolutely on point. Even though there was a little hiccup in my order, Debbie was able to accommodate me and make sure I got exactly what I wanted. As for the livestock, they have a really cool and diverse selection to choose from. Everything arrived alive, healthy, and on time. I couldnt be happier and will definitely order from them in the future!

I can honestly say this was the best live rock I have ever purchased. 5lbs (so not a huge quantity) for a mini reef, and it had 3 crabs, purple algae, several corals and sponges, arrived over night, and is absolutely beautiful.

Really enjoying finding all the different little critters that are living in and on the rock we received last night. The rock itself is colorful and has abundant sponges, coral and macro algae. Truly delighted - a great choice!

I ordered live feeder shrimp for my Lion fish and eel to eat with the understanding that some and possibly most would be dead. I received all dead shrimp in a disgusting pink bag and not 1 live shrimp pout of all 3 bags of shrimp. The rest of experience was fine. Placing the order was easy confirmation of delivery and customer service from beginning to end was great but the ALL dead shrimp was extremely disappointing

I ordered 20 some odd invertebrates for work. Everyone arrived happy and healthy and are doing extremely well in our tanks. The staff at Salty Bottom have been a delight to deal with. We will not be ordering from any other companies in the future!

Arrived alive and all are still doing well, had a mishap acclimating 1 of the bags, it sank about 30 minutes in. But they all survived none the less, will be adding more to the tank in the near future.

Tried talking with them they say theyll get back to me never do..ordered 2 octopuses 1 lived a month other arrived dead.but nobody wants to fix it smh but I just read where ups killed someones octopus and they replaced theres hmmm guess I got tha bad end of tha deal

Salty Bottom is amazing!!!! I live in SC and have ordered several times now and every time everything has arrived perfectly. I do a slow acclimation and my little friends have done so well with adjusting. Their dry rocks are beautiful shapes. All of my little friends (skunk cleaner shrimp, several snails, feather dusters) are all thriving. My fish loved the ghost shrimp too!! Thank you so much Salty Bottom for always communicating answers all of my questions and even sending pics of items when asked. You guys are the best!! Can’t wait to order again!!

Awesome family owned business. If you want REAL live rock this is the only place to get it. Dont buy live rock from a pet store, that cheap stuff has never seen the ocean. Also allways well stocked with all varieties of marine life. If they dont have it they can get it!

Just wanted to take a second to give a review of my experience so far with Salty Bottom Reef Company. Im a stickler for customer service. I run my own business from home, so I know that customer service and satisfaction are TOP priorities. Let me just say, this company makes damn sure those two things are number 1 for them. Since before even ordering from them, Ive had the pleasure of speaking personally with them/their employees, asking questions about their products, even questions they didnt need to answer as they had nothing to do with a sale. Every message sent to them was answered ASAP. Every question and concern I had was addressed immediately.As far as their actual products: zero complaints. I ordered over 100 snails/crabs/etc in one go and we did lose a few, even with my babysitting the tank (literally) all night. It happens, I know. But all my little inverts came looking great! All snails and hermits were great size-wise. Shipping was very quick (as would be expected for this). And, as someone who had never added a new life to her tank (everything I have was part of a gift from a friend), I was very nervous about receiving and acclimating my new little guys. THREE different employees all spoke with me and walked me through (in addition to the instructions that come with livestock they ship) and assured me it would go just fine.Im pretty sure my toddlers like the new hermits more than the damn fish at this point, but luckily, I know this is the only place Ill ever go again for new members of our family. Just wanted to pass some unsolicited, unpaid advice along for anyone looking for a place to order that also has customer service that goes above and far beyond.

Amazing live rock! This is real live rock with lots of color and tons of living things all over it. I am very lucky to live local and the owners allowed me to come by and pick mine out. Very friendly owners and great customer service! I will never buy live rock anywhere else again and would recommend them to anyone. You wont be disappointed !!!

Ordered an octopus from them for my son. It’s beautiful I didn’t think I would like it that much but it’s amazing and they were soooo helpful and awesome since ups killed my first one but they replaced it thank you we love it ️️️️️+

I just got a 90 gallon cleaner crew and it is great. The pack has many more critters than any other place out there and for much less money. They even put in a few extras. The animals are very healthy and active. They were feeding the very moment I got them in to my tank. I will be ordering from them in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs live rock or invertebrates for their reef tank.
