I had a decent time here. The music and atmosphere were good. It was one of the more relaxed bars I went to on bourbon street. A lot of the other bars were unbearable. I’d come hang out here again if I had the opportunity. The bartender was pretty cool. I forgot her name to be completely honest but she had some piercings and tattoos. Really cool personality and she kept up with the flow of the bar no problem.
This is a really fun bar and I would give it 5 stars except for 2 reasons. The bartender overcharged us by adding shooters to our drinks which we never asked for or received. I watched him make the drinks and no shooters were added. Secondly. the lady selling shots literally forced them in the our mouths after we said no several times. Had to pay for those too. The atmosphere was great, the music awesome but they knowingly rip you off with no recourse but to pay.
I would give it a zero. My friends and I paid for balcony viewing and they just over booked it. It was not organized at all. We werent there for more than maybe 15 minutes before we were kicked out. The drinks that are included are watered down. There isnt enough tables and chairs for people to sit while waiting for the rotation. Best thing to do is to find a good dance club or bar for fat Tuesday if you dont want to be in the crazy packed streets.
Our stay in New Orleans wouldn’t have been the same if we didn’t come across the Bourbon Cowboy. From our bartender Maegon, the entertainment Jeff D, the DJ, security, the bull riding host, to the other patrons, it made our trip memorable. Drinks were cheap, bull ride was hysterical (yes if you tip well you will ride longer and you can also make sure your husband falls off instantly). This is a must go place if partying on Bourbon Street. Great people!
The place to go for Country Music and bull riding in the City! I bring all the out of towners here during Mardi Gras!
Honestly, I dont remember much about this place. It was part of an amazing trip, I loved Louisiana in general. So thank you for being part of our journey
Love it. My favorite bar in New Orleans...has the best Bar tender in the world( Mz. Garland) she is the best.........
Best Hurricanes ever. Great place to get wild and ride the mechanical bull..
The service was great, the atmosphere is so much fun. The only downfall is how disgusting the washrooms are. But that goes to say for a lot of the publuc washrooms in the area.
Fun party place on Bourbon Street. However if youre going to write a review you may want to do it when you first get there. Theres a good chance that you may not remember anything the next morning.
I wanted to say THANK YOU for hosting our event Friday March 8. Honestly, my expectations were to walk into a bar and have people order drinks. I figured it would be a blank slate and we would throw some beads. Not so...I dealt with Sharon through the whole process and she was so quick with her responses and was super easy to work with.Y’all set out tables, with linens, and adorable little centerpieces! It was so unexpected and meant so much! Such a seeet gesture. The balcony was huge and was more than enough room for our guests to throw the beads we ordered. And that security guard was on point!Thank y’all for being so easy to coordinate with. It truly was a pleasure and it kicked off our wedding weekend in a great way!
Popped in for a beer, was still here 3 days later. Good place from what I can remember
A super fun Bourbon Street staple where the drinks and the party never stop.
Good music, good vibes, and an awesome mechanical bull...ye....haw.....
This place had a lovely atmosphere. Awesome choices of Country music downstairs, while good choices of pop music played up stairs. Dont be a chicken, get yourself on that mechanical bull for a once in a lifetime experience. Gotta give some shout out to the roof top area too, it is the perfect place for the iconic bead throwing you come to expect on a busy Bourbon St night. 10/10 would Cowboy again.
FUN ON BOURBON ST! Good music, Good beer and good times! Loved it!!!
2 for 1 and large balcony cant go wrong
My girlfriends and i walked up to the balcony to enjoy a drink at this bar, where we were met at the top of the stairs with a shot girl who literally force fed us tube shots against our will even with us saying no. She proceeded to tell us we then owed her $40 plus tip for the 3 shots due to the “sexual favor” she provided by “feeding us” the shots, even though we verbally said no. A manager met us and stated we’d have to pay half of what she was charging but would give her a “talking to”. I’m posting this notify that if you are a young group of girls, DO NOT go to this bar. Management does not have your back against unsafe and aggressive employees. Not a safe choice, there are other safer choices on Bourbon Street.
Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere ! Not to mention, the bull .A must go.
FANTASTIC balcony for Bourbon street activities. Awesome specials throughout the night (weekday and weekends). Great for hosting parties, job functions, etc.
Tourist trap the food they serve for the private balcony party on Mardi Gras didnt worth the price
Not a bad place for a drink, if youre on a street with a hundred places to drink. PS. Like this review
Awesome place, drinks are a little high, $7 for a beer is way to high
Decent place, mechanical bull. 3 for 1 on some drinks.
Good laughs from the ones who ride the bull we enjoyed
Typical Bourbon street bar but with a mechanical bull. Great place to go if you want to be ignored by the bartenders. One played with her phone the entire time and waited on no one. She chatted with a few friends.
Great bar, the bull riding is a must, especially after a few grenades!
Amazing set up. Security is kind of rude tho
Good drinks and fun local atmosphere.
I Love This Place....fun and not expensive
The bull ride makes great entertainment
Fun experience and ambiance. The drinks were like any average bar. The bull ride was pretty novel for New Orleans for me .
Always fun times watching drunk people on a mechanical bull
Wasnt going to stop in as Im not much for country music, but I needed to wait for someone and the barker encouraged me to get in and stay warm. Great band with good music, found myself having a good time and had a beer while I waited and listened to some great music.
Drinks flow like water!!!!Music right on!The restroom situation could be improved.
What a good time! Ride the bull, if you dare, just not in dress, unless you dont care to share your wares.
I had so much fun at the Bourbon Cowboy! You can ride the bull or just hang out and listen to this guy on the microphone ranking everyone out! Theyve got great deals on drinks and even had 3-fers the night that I was there! They also had some well-endowed women selling shots. We had a blast!
Was kicked out of the bar because I asked the bartender to be nice to me. Approached him and asked for 3 beers and immediately started to insult me. I ended up tipping him because I planned on staying there for a while because I’m from Texas. He went and told the bouncer that I was being rude to him and they kicked us out because I asked him to be more nice and if he was I’d tip him. Prolly the worst bar iv been too since I just turned 21 the prior day.
My husband loved riding the bull here and drinks were good.
Bull was fun. Music was good. Name is catchy.
Umm great place and dj
Bull riding country bar in the middle of the French Quarter. Fun change of pace compared to the other bars in the area. Also a fun place to meet friendly strangers and do shots out of test tubes which seems to be a thing in New Orleans.
3 for $10 drinks = great deal!! Bartender offered to wash our cups from a previous location and took care of us at the bar even when it got busy. My favorite place on Bourbon Street
This place was fun but one of the bouncers made this a place to forget. Rather than slam doors and flicker the lights... Just ask people to go downstairs cause the top bar is closing. Wont be back.
This place would be cool if it werent for the shady servers. Also we bought at least 10 bull rides and the bartender wouldnt give us a free water.
Pretty good, typical Bourbon Street activities, with the addition of bull riding... A little crowded, little noisy and probably not the cleanliest, but it didnt seem like anyone cared...
Great atmosphere, friendly bartender. Good selection of beers. The announcer is fantastic.
Love the country music and friendly atmosphere
We were there just to get a drink but the pervert who passes out free bull riding tickets was trying to get some of our friends to go on it. One of our friends did it, the other (my partner) did not. The slimy perv with grey hair got mad when we said his approach was gross and sexist. After our friend rode the bull we decided to leave peacefully. As I walked out the man grabbed me by my bag, picked me up, then slammed me on the ground calling me a “little bitch”. He then proceeds to push me down the bar. I AM A WOMAN. The employees and bouncers did not protect me, instead they kicked me out when I was already leaving and protected this monster. If you put money into this place you are supporting sexual and physical violence. If I could I would give it no stars and light a match to this shit hole.
This place is fun if youre looking to ride a bull in New Orleans and get a few drinks while you wait. Its clean and a pretty cool spot, however the reason Im writing this review is because of the wonderful experience my friend and I had with a bartender named Courtney. She was quick, friendly, and not to mention incredibly gorgeous! She created a safe space for us late at night when Bourbon Street can get a little rowdy and uncomfortable, especially for two girls on their own. She told us to let her know if anything was wrong or if anyone harassed us. She made our experience really great, and for that reason we stayed longer, drank more, and tipped even better. Thank you Courtney! Those small gestures make a world of a difference.
Great atmosphere, wonderful people, wonderful service. Super fun place to be!
We had such a great time for our sons wedding reception! Good food, attentive staff and throwing beads off a private balcony was priceless! Would highly recommend!
Mechanical bull and 3 for 1 beer! Nuff said. Decent place with lots of women inside. Watching everyone fall off the bull was good fun.
Fun place to visit on Bourbon Street!
Had a great time here with friends. We all rode the bull and had a blast! Always a sure pick when in Nola
This place was awesome. Love the atmosphere. Rode the bull till I could no longer stand.
Very fun, my friend rode the bull!!!!
Great bull riding and fun place.
Great place for fun and laughs
Great pork sliders! We had a great time on the balcony watching the people of NOLA walk down Bourbon St.
I work there i love it
This is a great bar.. Come ride the bull :)
Fun place. Mechanical Bull..
Great drinks, music, and service!!
The Long Island Ice Tea is a must try at this place!
Always enjoy this place. Announcer is great during rides.
Service was great bull was fun to ride
$5 bull rides make for quality entertainment. Fun country music bar to switch up the vibe on Bourbon Street.
Too many shot girls and ok drinks. Pretty decent environment and country music. They also show games on a projector and have a pretty diverse crowd. Pretty good to stop for a drink, but keep it moving. Has mechanical Bull too. But too many females being aggressive with shots.
This is a pretty ok place. The atmosphere is for any on Bourbon that night that wants to kick it with the rough and rowdy bull riding ladies and gents of the French quarter.
Can be a fun time with your squad.
Love this place, live every day of the week! That mechanical bull is hilarious and very entertaining.
Tons of fun! Nice spot! Good music & drinks!!
An exciting and exhilarating experience. They helped us throw a great party in the heart of the French Quarter.
Could listen to country in the middle of everything else. Drinks were good, but bathroom upstairs didnt lock or have toilet paper!
BEST HAPPY HOUR!! 2 for 1 deal !!
Had an absolute blast here when in town for a convention. The mechanical bull was fun to watch (no I didn’t ride it) and the MC was hilarious. The hurricane drinks will kick your butt so be careful. Great location in the heart of Bourbon St.
Best place I have been so far. Awesome staff, great music. Fun times
Had so much fun here. You can ride a bull
The bull riding was fun to watch.
Definitely one of my favorite bars on Bourbon, love the balcony access!
Wasnt impressed. a very noisey dive bar.
Loads of fun
This place was a little ghetto for me and not to mention the restrooms were a mess.
It was a great atmosphere but the bartenders were more interested in there private conversations then serving beer
Fun bar I really enjoyed myself when I stopped in here. Drew the bartender was a great guy. Will definitely go back.
Wonderful upstairs venue for customer events when in NOLA
Had a lot of fun here and dont forget to ride the bull
