It’s a fun place to walk around and spend the day. Shop owners are very friendly and willing to explain the art if that’s what you’d like or just let you browse at your leisure. My husband and I have been on several occasions and always had a good time. However, set a timer on your phone for the parking meters. We received a ticket only 4 minutes after our time ran out. Bring your walking shoes. There is good food and drink all around.
A wonderful change of pace from the French Quarter. Competitive dining, amazing art galleries, and historical landmarks. A must see for a tourist or locals.
Had an Airbnb in the art district, convenient neighborhood, tons of galleries, easy walking distance to most areas, local grocery store... very convenient.
A great area to visit for art offerings. In a while range of tastes and notions. Some more predictable, some more challenging and compelling. Something for all.
A lot of great art galleries, mostly featuring local and regional artist. I spent about five hours making my way down Julia Street. Saw a lot of beautiful work and had interesting conversations with four of the gallery owners. If you love art, you should make your way here if you are in NOLA.
Nice. An upscale area with good mix of art available.
Gallery 600 Julia...finest Art Gallery in NOLA. Ive bought 3 plein aire Louisiana paintings here that you cant find anywhere else. Susan is the most knowledgeable art curator in town.
I so love culture. New Orleans is one of my favorite travel locations because of the art, music and vast culture. Its a must see!
Cool display of hand blown glass
