This was a marvelous tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the home, why it was built the way it was and its subsequent history. The grounds are amazing to walk through, beautifully maintained and you can take all the time you want to explore.

Exterior view. Southern antebellum sugar plantation built in 1831-34 by David Weeks. Restored in the 1920s by the builders great-grandson, William Weeks Hall, 1894-1958.

A great example of the Louisiana colonial style of building. There is a guided tour of the house but, you can roam the grounds on your own. A lot of original pieces are in the house. No photography is allowed inside the house.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Especially since we are both James Lee Burke fans and this house is mentioned in several of his books.

And incredible Plantation home once owned by the Weeks family and maintained by slaves. The tour guide was Chris and he was incredibly knowledgeable of the plantations history dated back to the 1800s. The grounds are well-kept and there is even a cemetery for the Weeks family. The home has many original relics. Only the first and second floors are available for viewing and the third floor and other rooms are not available for viewing. I recommend the touring of this property. My visit was on April 27th 2019 at 1:30 p.m.

One of the best spots in New Iberia. It is immersed in history and is absolutely beautiful. The gardens are gorgeous and I highly recommend a tour of the home. You will not be disappointed. You can also check out their Facebook or website. They have semi-annual craft shows and are always having little events for the public.
