I bought my little green cheek conure from this shop early in august. The staff and owner were very customer oriented and helpful. My gcc adjusted quickly to me and his new home. He is the friendliest little guy always wanting pets, rides on my shoulder and enjoys using my body as a jungle gym. Who says you can’t buy your friends. James

Its a beautiful store..wait until you walk in its breath taking ...The parrots are so aware of your presence there. They reach out so you can hold them even thou mama bird said touching the parrots, you sure want too ..The fish are top shelf fresh water exotics ...thai silk (baby blue) ..convict morphs ..salt water dream fish, with a fuc*n eal that will blow your mind..Go in there bring some chocolate and get CHOCOLATE WASTED!!!!

Must order from them, they are the best!! I placed my first time order with them, but was not happy with what I got. I was very up and reached out with my issue. The owner, personally emailed me back. This was the first time I have ever known a owner to be so involved. He is amazing. He was not happy until I was. I will order from him as long as possible. Great store with a good selection of birds and fish + supplies. The owners are very friendly and knowlegable and clearly care about their animals. I would absolutely recommend them. They currently have a small selection of supplies for dogs and cats but will be increasing their selection in the next year.

Nice selection of fish but the store is dirty and unorganized. The workers seem to either be high off drugs or just coming off a high. Place feels as if it would get raided at any moment. Definitely wont use my credit card here.

I went in checking if they sell dogs, which they didnt, but was helped quiet a bit even though it was clear that I wasnt going to buy anything. The owner operators are really a rare bred (no pun intended) of business owners who are passionate to help pet owners and their pets with best practices.

I called ahead prior to making the first order to make sure they dont use USPS. Not only was the gentleman I spoke to very personable, I was also glad to learn that they FedEx overnight. The shipping cost is very reasonable compared to other shops so I was happy to pay it. My celestial pearl danios arrived safe & sound & have been thriving with zero issues. Love those little buggers! Most recent order was for some amanos & red fire cherry shrimp. They also arrived in good order & were scooting around in their bags like the trip was no big deal. All the critters from both orders were packed very well, the red fire shrimp & danios are gorgeous. Even the amanos have lovely little patterns. All of the above were a good size upon arrival too. Very glad I stumbled across this shop & highly recommend!

Needed a battery powered filter or “bubbler” for my fish tank so my fish wouldn’t die in this power blackout, which may go on long enough to actually kill them for want of oxygen, Compliments of hurricane Isais. Pete had them and the drive to New Haven was definitely worth it. My fish perked up from sluggish to Their door usual frisky and inquisitive behavior in less than an hour of installation. Pete didn’t let me leave the store till I understood how to use the product...very appreciated as I had come a distance. Pete cares about the customers and I felt confident about his knowledge . Also, the store is quite interesting and entertaining, with live talking parakeets saying hello to you and the biggest tropical fish I have ever seen, looking clean and healthy. Many Fish tanks of various colors and shapes. It was like an aquarium!

I had cancel my order after I found that many items were not available online when they said they were.I had to go through my bank to get a refund because WORLD WIDE FISH and PETS would not issue me a refund even after they said they would through email and over the phone.They tried to take $230 from me and give me nothing in return, these people are CRIMINALS.DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS.Next time I will just call the police.

I purchased some fish on line June 25 only received 1 email stating they received my order after 2 weeks i called to see when order would be shipped he told me my fish had to be ordered and should be in Sunday as of today i have heard nothing from them have called everyday and no one answers .He said he had call and left messages and sent me emails and i have nothing not even in Spam mail. I’m very happy with my experience with Worldwide! I ordered six fairly rare Corydoras on a Monday, and received them on Thursday, that same week - 1 day shipping. I called up and spoke with Peter, who I believe is the owner, and he was very helpful and friendly. We talked about the different variety of corys I keep and breed, and the different varieties he sells and what he can get in. He made sure to tell me that any fish I wanted, he could probably get for me, which was super nice. The most important thing for me was that my fish arrived healthy, quickly and clean of any diseases. I received them about two weeks ago, and everyone is still healthy and active in my quarantine tank. Some corys seem to have trouble shipping, some people think it’s a specialized toxin that they produce during stress events but I don’t think it’s been proven yet, but (just to be safe) Peter and crew shipped me these guys individually to reduce the likelihood of that toxin killing the other fish. Their shipping methods are great; the box was insulated, strong, and filled with packing materials to keep the fish from bouncing around too much in transit. One of the best shipping experiences I’ve had, and I frequently buy fish online. I would highly recommend calling up and talking to the staff for clarification or help if you make an order online and have questions, Peter in particular. I highly recommend these guys, and I’ll definitely be ordering again.

PLEASE READ. Honestly felt like I was being scammed. Wanted to start up a tank of shrimp so I went in for supplies I’d need and the guy just grabbed a few plants and some product and told me it was $50. When I said I wasn’t looking to pay $50, the guy seemed like he was trying to negotiate a price by offering me a “deal”. I’m a young adult woman so I think he looked at me as though I didn’t know what I was doing. Honestly a horrible experience and the animals don’t look like they’re taken care of well.

Best pet store Ive been too. Great customer service, very friendly. Great variety of fish and pet accessories. Better prices than places like Petco. My boyfriend and are very pleased with the fish and plants we are going home with. We will come back again for all our fish needs.

Very bad customer service. Ordered 100 Cardinals and had to call 3 times and sent 4 emails before I got a response. 2 weeks later my items shipped. Second time I ordered I was charged and nothing was ever shipped to me even though I received an email saying it was completed! Called, emailed etc with zero response. Had to file a claim with my bank to get the money back. Very poor customer service...

Drove 50 miles stores hours open at noon . No one to be found waited an hour + just talked to someone the day before to make sure they were open for business and hours were correct. NOT HAPPY

Peter (owner) is a extremely knowledgeable and great guy! Dont let his vast knowledge about his fish and pets make you feel like he is trying to sell because he simply knows what is best for these animals. I have worked with him to fill two of my 40 gallon tanks and one 20 gallon tank. If it sounds like his is trying to sell more fish it is because he knows that those fish will create the best community and happiest fish for your tank. I would go to him over any of those chain stores that you will likely end up getting sick and diseased fish from.

Ive been shopping periodically at World Wide pets for approximately the past 3 years. I like their variety of fish and tank plants. The owner Pete is a nice guy, always knows the answers to the questions you may have. His prices are reasonable and their is alot to choose from with the decorations for your fish tank or bird cage.

Ordered some Corydoras hastatus that they said they had in stock online. Never got any type of shipping information to see when my package would arrive fortunately I was home when it did. I opened the box and they were all dead. Plus they sent the wrong damn fish!! Getting in touch with them is impossible! Avoid them like the plague! Never again will I order from them.

Purchased fish online for a gift. A week of calling with no answer. Then when we did finally reach someone we asked about our order, when it would be shipped so someone was available at home. Employee was snarky and rude on the phone then HUNG up. Second call we spoke with Peter. Peter explained that the fish purchased was sold out. Hed be receiving another shipment this week, BUT, only about 25% live and the rest need treated because theyre in such bad shape. We then addressed the employees behavior in which Peter got defensive and cancelled our order. He said We have no business. Then tried justifying no contact for a week due to the pandemic. He still has hours of operation, which we followed.Okay Peter, were fine with that. We prefer to do business with people who value their customers. We werent rude or nasty. We simply asked about our order. Also before replying know we record all calls with the app record my calls.As a small business owner myself, I get the customer isnt always right. Some are rude and unbearable. This wasnt the case. Take your business elsewhere. We have aquariums ourselves. We purchase online for the harder to find fish. Every seller prior has made contact or shipped within 24-48 hours. Getting an order later isnt an issue. Knowing when to receive it is.Anyone who orders online should avoid this business. Weve had great experience with Aqua Huna and live aquaria has been highly suggested.

Im reviewing an online fish order, and I couldnt be happier. Ordered a 25 pack of fish, and they arrived all alive, and now two weeks later there still have been no losses. And the order included more than 25 fish too! Am looking forward to the next time Im ready to make a fish-by-mail order, will definitely go back to this place.

With ordering fish online obviously comes risk, however all my questions were answered in a quick phone call before ordering. This, along with past experience with this company, was enough to reassure me to trust that the fish would arrive, not just alive, but in beautiful healthy condition and ON TIME as well. And my trust was definitely not threatened for a second, as all fish I ordered look amazing and doing very well in their new homes! *safe to say I WILL BE DOING MORE BUSINESS WITH THEM IN THE FUTURE*

Peanut Allergy Nightmare. There are peanuts all over the floor from the birds.We stopped on my way home from a weekend trip. I wish I hadnt.The store has a sign that says pardon our appearance during renovation however reviews more than a year old mention this renovation the sign should read were too lazy to get off our phones to clean up.Upon entering the store there are three large birds, two that look lovely and one, Dolly, that is in horrible condition. She has destroyed her feathers and was so cold she was shivering. If shes that stressed she shouldnt be on display, let her live in a calm environment.The fish look lovely, some tanks are very over stocked but the water is clean and they appear healthy.The bearded dragonss enclosure, while large was lacking in important things they need.The reviews for this store are great and maybe he should just sell fish online because thats what he seems to be good at.

When I first see the windows of the business, I didnt realize they have a large space with plenty of species and options. Their tanks look clean with many colorful fishes in it. Along with fish supplies, they have baby parrots, grown parrots, tropical animals, weird looking frogs (Im not a frog-guy, for sure) and some other birds and animals.The prices are unbeatable. Really great to shop in person or over the internet. They sent overnight and they really do care about their online customers, as well as walk-ins.

Went in a while ago because the site looked nice. The owner was at the front of the store talking very loudly on the phone when I first came in but I didnt mind too much and looked around. Many tanks were out of service and much of the store was very dirty. I looked at aquatic plants and almost all were dead or dying and they seem to have been there a long time. I noticed the variety and was impressed with stylish decor, but many species of fish were thrown together in tight and unclean looking quarters. I would have bought something if not for unclean appearance and lack of care for the livestock.Update: I recently saw that this business was stealing photos from another, more reputable aquatics supplier (AquaticArts). My review has decreased in rating. I was really hoping that there might be cleaning in the store and that I would make this a new place to frequent. However, business practices such as this are disgusting. Not going here again.

Guy was super rude for no reason there was no one else in the store yet he kept disappearing instead of helping us and anytime we had a question, he answered pretty much in the rudest way possible. Forget this place and just go to Petco or another chain store.

Great selection of fish, the most I have ever seen in a local pet store, prices are ok. Owner is ok, but I do believe that 90% of what he says is not accurate, feels like he will say anything to get a sale. You have to experience it for your self. I wouldnt say dont go there, but do your own research of what your buying and take anything he says with a grain of salt.

Very pleased with this company as a whole. I just received an overnight shipment. Absolutely amazing customer service. Packaging was phenomenal, and my puffer fish was alive and alert. After properly acclimating him, the minute I put him in the tank he was already eating. I was very skeptical about ordering fish online especially a $200+ fish. Lets just say I will continue my business with World Wide Fish and Pets. You have to keep in mind this is a mom and pop type company. Not a big corporate company. I see a few bad reviews on here regarding how they treat people or handle situations. I believe it all boils down to how you communicate to them. I was very thorough about what I wanted and provided them with the exact information they needed. Needless to say they delivered with exceeding my expectations. I hope everyone else receives the same treatment as I got. You won’t be disappointed!

I ordered 2 Green Terrors off the website. I called the store and spoke with the Owner, his name is Peter. I asked if it was possible to send me a male/female pair. Although i knew he was not obligated to since they were sold unsexed. He said he would try to find me a pair if possible.Things got delayed a bit due to the weather, which was no ones fault and unavoidable. Peter informed me they would be shipped on Monday the 18th.Today my fish got here, and to my surprise he threw in an extra green terror just to make sure i had a better chance at a mated pair.(which i did get a pair it looks like)He was very helpful and going that extra bit was enough to earn all of my future business when it comes to fish. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for fish!

I’ve been a customer of worldwide for over a decade. They have some of the most exclusive fish at the right prices. Yes, the store isn’t appealing on the outside, a little rough around the edges on the inside but the PRODUCT is so EXCLUSIVE you can’t knock it. The owner, Peter, while he is also rough around the edges, he’s a one-man-band and knows his FISH! You have to go into the store with an open mind, BE PATIENT and Peter will assist you as if you were his family.When you google the biz, they’ve had robberies in past 6 months because he has some of the most elcusive animals in the areas.Not making excuses for the people who had bad experiences....simply stating FACTS about Worlwide.

Bad customer service and unorganized business. The reviews for this company are great and I thought Id found a good small fish business to buy from instead of going to big chains but wow what a long and terrible experience. I really dont like posting bad reviews and was really hoping this would work out but alas.The company had Microctenopoma for sale and I was interested in getting 4 fish, 2 males and 2 females. I contacted them about this order and the owner kept wanting to call and text instead of email. At every step in the process, my order was delayed, ranging from excuses from the owner such as 1. Im switching banks right now and our website doesnt accept credit cards, 2. I want to get you pictures of your fish before I ship but I dont have any spare containers to put them in, 3. Thanksgiving is too close and the order will have to wait until after then, 4. I had a bunch of employees quit and Im too behind on work I cant get the order out now, 5. I dont have Styrofoam boxes to ship the animals in, 6. Im in a transitional period with my mail-order and cant get orders out, and 7. just not responding to texts/calls/emails in a timely manner. There was over a month of this, with the owner always requesting I call in a couple more days to sort it out, upon which I always asked if I could finally place the order and he made another excuse.I finally let the owner know I was leaving for a trip and couldnt have the animals shipped to me while I was gone, so I asked if he would hold them for me until I got back (which was only a week and a half) and then he could ship them. I knew that was a stretch but actually he agreed which was nice and said hed hold them, and we agreed on a date that I would call him again to get the order finally processed. When I did that, he did not return my calls or texts and when he finally did, he told me someone ordered them last week and I assumed it was you... I spoke with you about these over a month ago... I dont know why you didnt order them 3 weeks ago. When I pointed out that every delay was on his end, he told me that he tried to help as best he could (apparently not when you promised to hold fish for a customer then sold them), that he had been taking shipping orders for the last 3 weeks, and blame me if you want... I argue with men face to face, funny thing is when they are in front of me they have must less to say. No apology was every given.He told me to contact him in another 2 weeks after he got in touch with his African importer. I did so and he told me he did not get in any more Microctenopoma and did not suggest recourse or make any offers for how to figure this situation out. He seemed like a nice guy but very disorganized and forgetful and when he made a mistake that was clearly his bad, he became rude and unapologetic. What a shame, I thought Id found my small business fish store to keep buying from.

I’ve been to this store once before last year and there were dead fish in the tanks and widespread ich.Today there were no dead fish, but the tangs still had ich and the store owner was arguing on his cell phone about the phone line being shut off. A fuse blew while I was in there so the tanks were in all in darkness.The assistant tried helping me as best he could, but he seemed very stressed out.

It took over 3 months to get all of the fish I ordered online. The fish that I ordered online out were sold in store after I had already paid. The store seems very unorganized. I received diseased fish, and almost all of my neon tetras have died from what I now know as neon tetra disease. A few arrived with it, but unfortunately I was not educated as to what it was. I do not recommend buying from them, at least not online and without seeing the fish.

Pete and TJ are beyond nice and helpful. Amazing selection of fish and plants and supplies. They just got a ton of amazing driftwood as well! Im in this store at least twice a week. These guys are TRUE fish hobbyists keep up the good work guys.

I do not understand why the average review is so high - very poor communication and business practices! They left me hanging mid-project!I had been working with the store to get advice about installing an aquarium in our office. At first, I thought that the owner was pretty helpful, in spending some time in the store with me, showing me around and suggesting certain fish for our project. When it came time to get a set-up quote, it was all verbal (or un-professionally hand-written on a piece of paper.) The prices seemed competitive (although there are not many similar businesses in the area.) But when we decided to move forward with the project, I called the owner to say we were ready to proceed (we had already purchased the tank online, and had approved the budget) and he admitted that he had no one available who could help us, leaving us hanging, pushing our project back at least a month, thus we had to start all over again in researching helpful, reputable pet stores.Very poor communication and business practices! Do not deal with them! (And definitely do not go into the store, as youll be met with an ill-maintained environment and will witness dead fish floating in the tanks.) Ugh!

I live in the area and visit the store directly. I have purchased a few fish here and had great luck (EBJD, Frontosa, Red Terrors, Yellow Jacket). The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. There is a little disarray in the operations of the store but its a LFS, if you want prompt email and phone response call PetSmart. Love the store and planning on going this weekend to see whats in stock.

I have had the worst experience with this seller. I purchased two Rainbow fish online. They still owe me one fish and I have sent various emails stating the discrepancy. They have yet to send the fish or respond to the emails. Today, after three weeks of dealing with this problem I tried to call and nobody responds. If this is there way of conducting business, it surely wont be profitable. Reconsider, before ordering from this seller.
