Nice hiking trail with different elevations, but its poorly marked for each color trail.

This is a terrific trail! It begins with a nice, gravel trail, then transitions to larger rocks mixed with gravel. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being most difficult, Id rate this a 3 or 4, but with one caveat - the High Tor scenic overlook spot is more like an 8 or 9. To complete the trail, you have to cross it, and the sweeping, panoramic view is totally worth it. The Little Tor overlook is nice and less grueling, but its optional and not a necessary part of the hike. Except for the High Tor overlook, the trail is mostly covered with tree cover.

Fairly easy hike with a beautiful view of North Rockland

Classified as a moderate hike but includes scrambling up some pretty steep rocky trails. Loved the views. Saw some deer. Not crowded on the Sunday when we were there.

A 691 acre state park located in Rockland County. It has two peaks - High Tor and Little Tor. High Tor is 797 feet, which is the highest peak in all Hudson Palisades, can be easily accessible through Ridge Road. Little Tor, at 620 feet can be easily accessible at the South Mountain Road entrance. Both peaks offer views of Rockland County as well as Westchester County. The skyline of NYC can be seen at the summit of both peaks.

Park on top of Central Highway, then walk down the beautiful trail for maybe 1.5 miles. Then left up a short incline trail to some beautiful views of the river, the mountains, and NYC on a clear day. So nice!

Good place to hike.

Hiking on the Ridge is great. On a clear day you can see the Manhattan sky line. Generally you are in the shade as there is plenty of older trees. A great hike and aside from a few places pretty flat.

High Tor remains one of my favorite places, and Im not just saying that because its in my backyard (literally. In terms of hiking, the trails that run through it are a good challenge, though not so much as to give beginners too many problems. There are some offshoots, however, that will give you a rigorous hike if thats what youre looking for. The highlight of the trail is the views you get from several of the offshoots. Theyre spectacular! The best views of Rockland County, and on a good day you can see the beautiful Manhattan skyline as well as a huge swath of Westchester.

Good park, but pay attention to directions. The place we initially got to is not the park but a side road. Look at photos before so you will know you got to the right place. Worth the drive, just try to make it the shortest possible...

Phenomenal View

The day was less than stellar...had to pay for parking outside...it was complete disastrous and demeaning...after being at the park my significant other went to get his car to park inside the car was told that it was ok and upon his return...at the entrance he was met with hostility and disrespect...he was told he couldnt come in bc there was no place to park when there was a spot on hold for him...and to make matters worst he watched people driving in but he couldnt...He became discouraged and opted to just leave the area...the worst part its that hes not from new york...so this makes New York people look bad bc of the actions of two of their park employees....they were only letting women!!!...so sad

Not sure why, but Google maps led me to a private residence when I asked for directions. Eventually got to a parking lot on the road cutting across the mountain. Plenty of hikers along that trail, though that was south mountain park or something. Beware!

I hate it! Me and my mom went there to see my friends from my old school, but when I asked the lady at the desk why they didnt allow buses anymore, she accused me of shooting at the messenger and when the buses arrived, the people there told the group to leave. I was not the only one upset, my friends were too. My mom got into a fight with the people there and they told us to give our wrist bands back. I was crying hysterically, but a month later, my friend, Christopher told me that the people there made a big lie on us! Never go there!

A lot of traffic from NYC comming here. Ok pool. They need to renovate it. Nice place for the family. Come early on the weekends.
