One of the first foothills in southern NH, and the home of now deceased Dean Potter. Legend has it that Dean started his incredible climbing career right here in little old New Boston, NH on Joe English Hill while in high school. This is akin, to me, of having one of Americas greatest athletes from your hometown. Much of the hill is owned by The New Boston Tracking Station and is off limits, so, you sadly wont find any plaques or tributes to the great climber and base jumper. Deans dad was apparently in the military, so Dean had a pass. But, Dean seemed to regard rules as subjective from what Ive seen in his climbing films. Anyway I try to remind myself to acknowledge Dean Potter when I find myself in the vicinity of JE. RISP Dean...one of, if not the greatest rock climber of all time

Great little hill. The trail up looked like an old quarry road. The south side of the hill has the cliffs, great view. The were a few Adirondak chairs at the top with a little fire pit.

A very interesting, easy hike. Can be confusing if coming from the Summit Dr. side due to the trailhead being a few hundred feet up someones driveway. Just park your car on the side of the cul-de-sac and walk up till you see the up hill trail. Amazing views on top with one of the only summits with chairs and a fire pit.
