Free place to visit. History is focused on the house and its residents plus some area history. Was worth our time.

Come here and learn that history is alive and well and living in New Bern. From the brilliant eccentrics to the explorers they have all inhabited this little city. And, of course, Washington slept here! The New Bern Historical Society has the stories and information to guide you through people, places, palaces, and battles of New Bern.

Admin offices of the Historical Society located in a historical house built circa 1794. Some museum rooms to view with artifacts from Battle of New Bern and former owners of the house. Admission free. Donations welcomed.
