I come here every year with my family on vacation and always come home with a different painted ceramic. We all enjoy the activities and the staff are always helpful. Look for a coupon in the visitor magazines for a discount as an added bonus.

A terrific place to take kids and adults of all ages. They have a vast array of items to be painted. The process is very easy, choose your item(s), decorate them how you see fit and they handle the rest. Typically takes 2-3 days for them to finish them and have them ready for pickup. Very friendly staff and they even do events for children and adults. They also have a place in the back for semi private parties which is perfect for children. They will assist in everything from picking an item, to which paint to use, to creative hints and pointers and are excellent with helping with small children.

Lovely variety of paintable items. Very knowledgeable staff will make suggestions if you need help. Wide variety of paints and glazes, stencils and copy ready fonts to trace. Colorful atmosphere, populated with brushes, sponges, cups, tiles, all things you need to create your masterpiece.

The Accidental Artist is a great time. Whether you enjoy painting alone or with the family youre sure to have an enjoyable experience. Youll definitely want to plan for more than a hour. If you have younger children definitely plan on longer especially if youre painting a bigger piece. They have a great selection of items to choose from that fit all kinds of price ranges as well as different taste and interests. You pay a studio fee which gets you access to use any supplies for your paint project and the firing of your piece is included in the price. Keep in mind that there is usually a four or five day turn around for your piece being fired and ready for pick-up. If youre from out of town thats not a problem because the studio offers to ship your fired piece to your home once completed. All in all its a fun way to spend a few hours with good people.

This was such a blast! The staff was so attentive and checked on us throughout our painting process. They also gave us recommendations for what colors to use and how to do what we were envisioning. They have a lot of options of pieces that you can paint and although its a little pricey, its worth it!

Very cool place! There are all kinds of different pieces to paint! We took our 12 and 5 year olds there and they had a ball! They glaze them for you and will even ship to your home. You can tell the staff really likes what they do and were really helpful. We will definitely be back!

Always love painting Bowls for Empty Bowls

It was nice being able 2 paint our own items after picking them out from their selection, however the prices are rather high. It was also my families 1st time at this place & the additional pricing was not fully explained. I was told $8 each for a studio fee + cost of our items we painted, which is not 2 bad. They failed 2 mention other costs and that it would take prob a week 2 get our finished pcs. We had 2 pay for shipping ourselves. We were only in New Bern for the day & if we had known this up front, we might not have started. Also, I pked out 2 boots 2 paint thinking they were a pair, but wen they were rung up they were counted as individual items. They were on the shelf like a pair, so I assumed they were a pair. So, other than the seemingly hidden costs & the delay on getting your painted item, it was a nice family activity. I just wish the pricing & delay was explained more.

First time I have ever been to the Accidental Artists was for a team building events. They have a large selection of items to paint and decorate. The staff was helpful and full of tips and tricks for getting good results on your project. Plan to come back in a few days to pick up your project after it has been through the furnace.

I enjoyed painting my cup although Im not a real artist by any means. This was a nice place. The employees were helpful and nice. It was my first time there. Although the pottery was a tad on the expensive side, I still had a fun time. Ill be back to post a pic of my completed product. Wished I had took a before pic.

This store is in a cozy costal downtown. It is full of friendly, helpful, and laid-back staff. I went in with my children to get a handprint platter and they were so helpful. Call ahead with any questions.. they answer the phone, and can help you plan your trip there. The prices are typical for a pottery shop, I so wish they would have their prices posted in their webpage. The sitting fee is $8 per adult, $6 per child plus the pottery piece.. $8 gets a small Christmas ornament all the way to $55 for a really nice large serving platter. But if you go in with several people to work on one piece for a big anniversary or family event... You only pay for one sitting fee. I am super impressed with how helpful the staff was. We will definitely be coming back.

The Accidental Artist is located in beautiful down town New Bern. It offers paint your own pottery pieces. The pottery is pre-made and there is a wide selection of figures, dishes, and such. The staff will help you if you see a sample technique that you want to learn. You will paint your piece and leave it to dry and to be fired which takes about 4 days. The day of pick up is as much fun as the day of painting! If you are from out of town they offer mailing of final pieces. This is a great place for creative family fun.

My daughter Delanie attended the Paint with Santa Monday the 9th. The staff was fantastic! She had a great time! We had to leave early, Joan, Kathi and the elves made sure her projects were done with Santa on time! Santa told Delanie Happy Birthday (it was her birthday on Tues) and everybody sang!
