Its a very nice theater super clean and a good seating chart to keep everyone 6ft apart even though it was completely empty but i dont recommend seeing the movie unhinged :/
Great place to watch movies. Nicec n clean. Roomy seats. Just nice place.
This movie theater is good for what it is, but could use some updating. It’s has that old home town feel to it but some of the screens aren’t functioning properly. Last time I went none of the previews could be seen on the screen, but you could hear them. Luckily by the time the movie started playing the screen became visible. Just depending on who you are this may not matter, but I like to watch the movie trailers. Wish they would have gave us something for the inconvenience.
So they have a new self serve kiosk for ticket purchases... LOVE IT! Im damn near 50 and STILL love the feeling of entering a movie theatre.
Great theatres, great upgraded screens and seats. Great service and concession. Decent prices
If i could give this 3.5 stars, i would. I saw Star Wars IX in Screening Room 1 at 11AM. Bright overhead fluorescent lights kicked on as soon as credits started. What a terrible experience having the emotional impact of the movies ending negated by sudden brightness which also flooded out the credits. Meanwhile, the staff member walked around making broom noise as fifteen distracted customers tried to at least enjoy the closing music. The price we pay these days even for matinee viewing should include an enjoyable experience to the last note. The management kindly assured me that this is not normal practice, that the lights come up half way for credits and the crew waits for the screening room to empty. I imagine this experience was the result of a rushed decision of an over eager young employee. My other experiences at this theater have been acceptable, except for the occasional rude movie goer. The audio and video quality has been consistent and pleasurable. If youre looking for an optimal experience, try a more highly rated theater, but if you are looking for less travel time and less crowd, this theater is pretty okay.
The polar express fun movie
Took my mother-in- law and son to see the matinee of Dolittle. Maybe 15 minutes in the screen messes up and continues to do so for a long time. I get up to tell someone and am told they are working on it. About 10 minutes later an employee comes in and announces that they are working on it and if you want to leave you will get a refund but if you stay until they fix it you will get free passes. We stayed for about another 25 minutes while the movie continued to glitch with no audio. We finally got up and left. We were refunded our money but were told that we would not get free passes for next time because we got a refund. So we wasted over an hour on a movie we could not watch but they acted like they did us a favor by refunding our money. I go to the movies a lot and this makes me not want to go back to this theater. Very disappointed.
Ive gone to this movie theater for years. It is very family friendly and not very busy. The only true problem I have had is the cleanliness other than that its fine. Friendly staff and fresh popcorn and sodas.
We have been going to this theater for years and it has been going downhill over the last year. Tonight went to see Birds of Prey and the theater was so cold, you could see your breath. My husband (and another guest) asked the manager to please turn on the heat, but it stayed so uncomfortable we could barely enjoy the movie. We have had other experiences where the lights were not turned off as the movie started, the wrong movie started in the theater, sound has been messed up. In most cases the issue does get fixed or they offer free tickets, but not tonight. On a busy weekend night it takes a long time to get tickets because you have to buy them at the concessions. I understand it will take longer as people are ordering food, but only “hot” food is popcorn and microwaved pretzel bites. There are other theaters where there are more choices for concessions and much more comfortable seating that we will be visiting from now on. The longer drive is worth the added comfort and value.
GREAT play to watch a movie!
The normal cash registers were down and you had to buy your tickets at concessions. Even due to the line of gripping, nasty people behind me the kind lady who took our order was so sweet. Made sure to let her know they were doing a good job and not to let the rude people behind us give her a hard time.
We will no longer be going to this theater. 20-30 min wait for tickets on a slow afternoon. We decided to use the one automatic kiosk that was working so we could not get popcorn or we would have missed the movie. I can drive to nicer theaters and have less wait and better snacks. Sad because it is only 5 min from our house
Fine theater but I wish there was closer access to pick up people. Its a long walk from the front to an actual theater. Some folks need a little help with a shorter exit route.
If I could give it a zero I would. It was 45-50 degrees outside, the inside of the theater was Freezing! We were all bundled up in down coats, hats, scarves... We still froze! And our handicapped friend with limited dexterity had an awful time with that! When I let the theater know they did nothing. I emailed even, they did NOTHING. The whole movie was so uncomfortable for everyone in our group. Terrible customer service.
What started with weekly visits with Movie pass before the fallout, I was certainly a regular. Staff is always amazing here, and the location is very nice. Not top notch to be honest, but decent for a small town of New Albany.Recently was told Corporate informed the location to not use the ticket stand and instead sell tickets at the concession stand. This is clearly a ploy to advertise more sales on food, but is a bit of an inconvenience waiting in a longer line for everyone who wants both food, and tickets individually.
Went with my significant other to see the new My Hero Academia movie and had a great time. Great customer service also.
I always go to this location to see movies. It is a larger theater so it has more screens and more seating, which is always great if you plan to see a movie right around its premiere. The theater is always pretty clean, usually no sticky floors or messes that you have to work your way around. Staff is always friendly and very helpful, have never had a bad encounter with any employees here. My only complaint is that the seats are starting to get a little old, so they arent as comfy, should definitely be updated. But all around a great place to enjoy a movie.
Excellent service from Aya.
This is a hollowed out shell of what used to be a movie theater. The ownership has decided to save money by running the tickets and concessions together. This might work at a one screen theater, but not a multiplex. There are long lines to get tickets on weekends as a result, and the lines dont move quickly. We got to our show late as a result, and had the moviegoers in the seat next to us not warned me, I would have ripped my shirt on the broken arm rest attached to my seat. The cup holder was gone, and the end of it was sharp.I live movies, and movie theaters, and Im sympathetic to how theaters get squeezed by the film studios, Netflix, and the like. But I enjoy the movie theater because its supposed to feel special. At this place, it just feels like Im a barely tolerated house guest.
Clean. Wasnt crowded for us around the noontime matinee we watched. Zombieland 2. The movie wasnt bad either. I think the weird thing is that there wasnt a ticket booth. You could either get the ticket at a kiosk or you had to wait in a long line and get it at the concessions counter - so be earlier to the movie you want to see.
I used to enjoy visiting this theater until they got even greedier and now FORCE people to stand in line to buy tickets at the concession stand. They do this so that people will be more likely to purchase concessions. It’s unfair to people ONLY wishing to purchase tickets to have to stand in line waiting for people’s orders to be filled.
It is clean comfortable and the employees are very nice. I had not been there in awhile so the new upgrades are awesome Will definitely go back
First time we had been there. Prices were extremely high but thats to be expected. The experience was very nice.
Two people to buy tickets and all snacks from. They are super slow. Twice I have been here the movie froze and we have to go tell someone. Freezing cold inside during the week. The only reason I have came back after all because I had a giftcard. I wont come back. It is also super dirty everywhere. $10.70 for a matinee
Lousy experience, NO HEAT in theatre 16 and ticket sales never mentioned the problem. Management was busy doing paperwork in his office. No concern. Star Wars is great.
Went to see Ford vs. Ferrari on Saturday 11/16/19 at the 12:30 pm show and there were several problems. There wasnt anyone working the ticket counter. There were two ticket kiosks but only one was working property. The lines for the concessions were so long they stretched from one side of the room to the other. There wasnt anyone checking tickets as you went into the theater section. And lastly the heat wasnt on in the theater we were in and it felt like and icebox. It was so uncomfortably cold in there. The movie was awesome but the theater sucked. I wont be going back there.
Spacious, comfortable seating and clean theaters throughout. Pricey like all theaters anymore, but they take extra butter on your popcorn seriously. Bathrooms are always clean and lots of them. The workers are always nice. An enjoyable experience.
I bought tickets online, and when I get there the line to buy tickets was extremely long. They had nobody working the station at the entrance to go into the theatres. When I asked why somebody wasnt at there to scan are tickets. They said that I had to go and that long line and wait. Why do they offer tickets online if you had to wait in a very long line to get it scanned to see the movie? When I go to the movies here is Florida, I never have that problem.
Very nice theater, expect to spend a bunch of money though. Matinee Sunday tickets are still over 10 bucks..
As far as a theater goes it was good. Clean and seemed to be Well kept up. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cant believe the prices though.
This place was clean and the customer service was pretty good. The popcorn was ok. Im picky but it didnt seem to fresh. I like the reminders to go to the restrooms on the screen and I like how they use animals to guide us on what to do. The previews are very long and I began to feel impatient and wanted to watch the movie. I get it though. Trying to update.
When they are busy they work very hard and fast and getting every customer their tickets and food. I walked in stood in line, got my tickets and then stood in line again to get my food and drink and it was less than 6 minutes tops! And they were long lines. That is what I love about a movie theater! Seating was comfortable and overall just a good place to go. Price is expensive but what movie theater isnt?
Its a nice theater. However, the prices are extraordinary High. I mean who needs to spend $20 for popcorn and soda? Unless everybodys streaming off Netflix and thats how they compensate the prize but its to take to my son to a movie these days cost about 60 bucks. So we usually sneak our stuff in like normal people. In hindsight the movie Industries going out of business. And this we won the first to go?
Tonight I watched a lady make a fool of herself and made me embarrased to be an adult while two young men working there kept complete professionalism. Way to go guys! There would have been nothing you could have done to make that woman happy. I get the popcorn machine broke causing a back up that was inconvenient but for petes sake its popcorn.. Im sure she will call every manager she can. While I hope your manager shares this with you guys instead! I was impressed.
Nice that they give you share trays with the refillable popcorn.
Excited for Xscape to open. Maybe Regal will learn their place (dollar theater?) and stop price gouging all of Southern Indiana.
Nice clean movie theater. We were 2 of 8 watching an evening movie. Why these places dont cut the price of tickets and fill seats boggle my mind. You can make up cost on the snack and food side.
Awful experience! I came to the Great Escape Theater to see the movie Judy and waited about 20 minutes just to get a ticket ... they were terribly understaffed! Then I sat for over an hour just watching previews. I finally got fed up and went to the concession area and I was told that I was in the wrong theater. On the ticket, it said in BOLD letters “Albany 16” so I went to theater 16 ... but it was actually in theater 9. There is no signage outside of the individual theaters so you cannot check what is showing. While I was discussing this issue with the manager, another woman and her son came up with the same problem. The manager admitted that corporate had just made this change three days ago and they have had problems like mine. I did get an apology and a refund but that was it!!! One hour wasted and expensive popcorn and drink to go with it.
For the sake of the lord. Please move your ticket lines to the front again. Im waiting 40 minutes for some tickets and I miss 20 min of the movie.
Could use a face left but other than that its a great menu
I go here quite often, nothing wrong with the movie viewing experience, its getting to that part that is kind of lackluster. Minimal staff, that tends to move at a snails pace, but they are friendly. Of course they have the typical over priced popcorn and drinks, but thats to be expected. Tuesday is half priced popcorn day though.
Love this place. Staff is very friendly. Does need a lot more attention paid to cleanliness. Popcorn all over the floor and trash cans over flowing.
The new system theyre using now stinks you have to go to the concession line to get your tickets. We were in the line 20 minutes just for tickets. Rambo last blood was very good thou.
My son and I went to see Uncut Gems yesterday,305pm We got a large popcorn and large drink. My son had to take the popcorn back two times it was not fit to eat MISSING THE MOVIE, Finally on our way out we dumped out the popcorn and got our refill for it was much better, The kid at the counter said a lot of people were complaining about the popcorn, The hall way were dirty the bathroom stunk like pee. Lobyhad popcorn all over the place. I did take pictures. Our next movie will be somewhere else, Oh Movie ok.
Its overpriced as is all movie theaters and its dirty in the theater but clean as far as the bathroom and concessions *popcorn was stale*. We saw scary stories to tell in the dark. Had the place to ourselves and it was a good family horror movie
We will go to Louisville or the River Falls location from now on. Horrible service. Slow, rude and we, ourselves, have teenagers that are hard workers but the ones working there do not seem to have the same work ethic. Except whenever cleans, they keep it nice
Seemed a bit understaffed, and we had to notify the staff that the movie had started so the lights could be turned off. Miss the introduction that reminds everyone to turn their phone on vibrate because someones phone not only rung, but she answered it. The staff was friendly and the facility was clean. LOVED the movie.
Movie: Love and Mercy - St. Faustina story. A must documentary of the Call to Gods Love and Mercy! Worth see again!
Restrooms needed some work done to them but the rest of the place looked great
We arrived at 950 for a 10:10 movie and ordered popcorn. It was in a plastic bin on the counter, I asked why it wasnt in the popper and hot and was told they were cleaning the popper. This should be done after last movie. Also the place was filthy, trash overflowing from every trash can, popcorn all over the floor. I am glad our area will soon have another choice other than Regal. Destiny was not friendly.
Lines are rarely ever long and theater rooms are kept clean.
The Movie was great, the customer service ok but the theater needs maintenance basically needs to be cleaned.
It is a good theater. Some places blast the sound track so loud that yr ears ring afterwards. This one has a good cinema experience going on. Ive not had a bad show at Regal Great Escape.
No one to sell tickets had to get in long concession line to purchase. No one to take tickets or tell you which theatre our movie was playing in. It would have been easy to walk right in without paying.
Nice place but like all movie places snacks are sky high. Staff did great they were friendly and kept the place very clean. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the price of the snacks. If you are on a tight budget and want to take 3 grandkids to a movie the snacks will cost you a weeks worth of groceries. Its not just this movie theater its all of them.
Waited 20 minutes in line, there doing concession and tickets all in the same line, takes forever, and have taken pretty much every bench out, no place to sit for old or people who needs a break walking,
They really need better seats. Other than that theyre fine. Could use more staff.
Movie was Awesome But snack lines were Way to long to stand in
Service is great. All the young people there do a good job. Popcorn never tastes very fresh. Theater badly in need of renovation. Time to update to the recliner seats and make the theater a better experience for the money.
Need to clean better. Overall enjoyed
Needs to be updated and renovated. Run down
Subtitles were stuck on. Stinks and is over priced for what you get. They now force you to get tickets at concessions (so long lines to just buy a ticket) and their self serve machines are always broke and there’s no trash cans around anymore so no where to throw out the extra stuff that gets printed with ticket. Gosh this place is going down hill. Can’t wait until Xscspe opens up over here then I can never go here again and save some money for a better experience.
It was a nice theater. I hope they upgrade to the comfortable recliners soon!
I gave a 2 for cleanliness ! The prices for snacks are rediculous ! With the prices you have to pay now a days just to get in its robbery without the weapon ! Their self distructive !
No one working the ticket line. Had to stand in looong concession line for tickets. And then they dont take Fandango gift cards
Great place for an outing with my grandkids. Fire stick is great, but I like the movie and popcorn atmosphere. Reminds me of the weekend treat of family time.
Nice screens great popcorn high prices
Need more employees, excellent place to watch a movie!
Absolutely horrible. Its the middle of the day on a Saturday and there are 3 employees working. The concession line is approximately 30 minutes long, the self serve ticket kiosks are broken and the concession computers keep freezing. Poorly run, understaffed and overall a very disappointing movie experience. Do yourself a favor and drive to the theater in Clarksville. Youll have a much better experience and actually enjoy yourselves.
Its 1:39pm and it looks like nobody cleaned the place from the night before. Kid walks by with broom and dust pan looks at the floor and just blows off stopping, with the tools he has in hand, rather than stopping and sweeping the floor. Popcorn everywhere on the floor at the start of the day. This place should be SPOTLESS if there was anyone that care.
Friendly service, clean, surround sound, great screen and seating. Good popcorn and drinks. Theyre are games and a picture booth also for family fun.
Comfortable chairs, good popcorn, clean restrooms, friendly staff and movie and sound great!
Every time I have cone here there is only one person working the tocket area. The line is crazy, be prepared to get there early or miss some of your movie.
This has happened a few times: I recently arrived at the theater and the ticket counter was closed, with instructions to purchase tickets at concessions. There were two very long lines ar concessions. The concessions service is usually very slow to begin with, and now the concessions workers were doing double duty. I ended up missing the first several minutes of the movie.
Facility and staff are great, truthfully Im just going to wait for the DVD to come out the prices are outrageous.
Regal has the latest movies available in 3-D as well... Ticket prices are too much based on available outlets!
Great place if you want to catch a predator.
Entrance floor was dirty; had food, mostly popcorn, all over the floor. No one was at the ticket counter; instead there was a huge line at concessions with only two people behind the counter doing it all. The diet Coke was rank. Tasted awful. No soap at all in the womens bathrooms. I felt sorry for the staff. They were extremely understaffed today.
$55 for an adult two kids tickets with a popcorn and a drink. $5.20 for a bottled water. Made me remember why I dont go to the movies.
Very helpful workers and good movies.
Ypur facility was out of several items in the snack bar all items my daughter wanted. The snack bar area was very messy.
Ive been coming here for years little to no complaints but the way things were the last night made me think twice about coming back. I went to see IT and they never completely turned off the lights so my eyes couldnt focus on the screen. It created a haze or glare. I dont know if this was intentional for a safety reason or if someone just forgot to turn off the lights but either way ruined the vibe of the scary movie. On top of that it was freezing cold. I dont want to pay to see a movie in the light and be freezing cold.
Pretty clean facility. We did a birthday party. The room was not prepared at the agreed time, despite 2 week old reservations. Staff, including manager, were very young and didnt really appear to know what was going on. Just going for a movie is fine. I wouldnt recommend a birthday here.
Movie was great, but theater was small. Seats are not comfortable and I was cold
Roomy seats, nice theater and friendly staff!
Worst movie theater experience I have ever had. No one at the ticket booth. We had to stand in extremely long lines at the concession stand to get our tickets that we bought online. Only 3 registers were open for tickets and concessions in a 16 theater Cinaema. There were two kiosks to buy tickets, one broken, and the other very slow with about 30 people trying to get tickets from it. There were NO mangers to be found or even any Adults working there. Just a bunch of teenagers that were completely overwhelmed. When we finally got into the theater the previews had already started but there was no picture just sound which was way way too loud. I will never go to this theater again. This one will probably be forces to close when they open the new one in Jeffersonville.
The Best Theatre in the Tri-City. As close as you can get to being home. The most comfortable chairs that recline. Plenty of leg room. And the Screens and Sound System pur you in the movie. I highly recommend The Regal in New Albany, On Charlestown Road.
Just trying to help Derek give it three an a haf Starz ️️️
Today I saw Fathom Events The Wizard of Oz in Regal Theaters. My sister and I shared a large popcorn, and cherry coke. The drink tasted like watered down Pepsi right from the beginning, and was disgusting. Hoping that the popcorn would be better, we were eager to try our extra buttery popcorn. The popcorn did us no redemption, as the only part with butter was the very top. Already a little bit upset we sat down to enjoy the movie. About halfway through, the lights flicker on and dont turn of until about 5 minutes later. Annoyed at this we continued to watch the movie. Later as there us no more that 10 minutes left in this one of a kind American classic, the screen goes black and the lights turn on for the second time. Since I have not seen this movie in like 8 years, I was a little upset patending that I had forgotten the ending. My family and I waited for about 10 minutes, until one of the workers comes out apologises for any inconvenience. He tells everyone who hasnt already left that they can have a free pass to another movie. The pass was not valid for any special event movie, and 3D would have additional charges. This was a little disappointing, as I would have liked to see another back in time classic. Supposedly Dish networks was having technical problems, but it seems a little far-fetched since the lights came on the same exact time the movie shut off. I was not pleased with my visit, and have provided pictures of the pass they gave out. Also I just want to say this is the first time Ive ever had problems with Regal Theaters, and hope it wont happen again.
Even though it is a small theater and doesnt have all the great amenities of the larger theaters. Its still a good theater to go to due to the fact that it is very family oriented and your not fighting a huge crowd.
Great place to see a movie, very clean and great easy to get to easy parking. Food was great .
It was great. Had a wonderful time. My son treated me to a movie.
About 25 people in line with only 1 person working the counter. This made several people late for the showing, why not have more than one? Water was $5 bottle, crazy.
Enjoyed together time with my husband and going during matinee times cuts down on crowds and ticket prices.Concessions are way over priced, $15.59 for a small drink and large popcorn. And staff needs retraining in customer service. Most were not very friendly, no thank you, have a great day, or even enjoy the show. For the prices you have to pay now you should at least get friendly service.
Love this cinema complex. Im not sure why. It has a large number of theaters/movies to choose from, but it doesnt feel so spread out that you feel like you might get lost before you locate your theater. Has self-ticketing kiosks as well as regular ticket booths. Lots of parking. Near restaurants and Meiers.
