A very nice place to check out art openings and shows. I have been twice and its been a nice experience each time. The graffiti exhibit was really cool (12/19) and it was great to see a large, stately institution willing to go low brow! There was plenty of free parking behind the building and its super easy to get to. A friend told me about the shows Ive been to there, so I need to get on their email list or social media page for more updates.
We held our National Daughters of American Revolution meeting there and it was VERY NICE. I had not been in the building since I was a child visiting the library. They served coffee that we did not have in our refreshments. They were very accommodating to whatever we needed.
Fantastic Art/History Museum! We saw the Underground Railroad, Riverboat, and Skateboard exhibits! I learned so much and Al was such a great help! He answered our questions and even gave us more info about the exhibits than was presented. This place is fabulous! I recommend bringing the entire family here. It even has a place for little ones to play. Loved it!
Beautiful building! Art exhibit was fantastic and interesting. Information and exhibit about the underground railroad was phenomenal. The Carnegie Center is absolutely worth taking an 1 hr or 2 experience.
Great art in a friendly setting.
My little boy had a blast! He loves it here!Would love to see even more interactive stuff for smaller kids. Wish I would have taken pictures of his activities
Very nice experience. A lot to see and do. The staff is super friendly and it was a very educational experience.
Wonderful exhibits and lovely staff!! the lady at the front desk was so helpful
If you would like to learn more about slavery and the underground railroad in New Albany this is the place to go. They have an hour movie about slavery. Old shackles, etc.. Civil War memorabilia. Also, they have interesting art and activities to do with children. The building itself is a sight to see and check out the huge tree in the front.
Saw a documentary on Maya Angelou and it was very well presented. Enjoyed the discussion afterwards.
A great lunch and learn with Jamie Abesold today!
This. Place. Was. Awesome. So if you get a chance, drop in and take a look.
Very informative. Enjoyed live characters. Very clean and attractive. Employees friendly and knowledgable. Art for students was displayed in an attractive and accessible settimg.
We had a great time and a very special experience seeing Tibetan Monks perform a world Peace Mandala. We enjoyed the exhibits, especially the extensive section on the Underground Railroad!
So much history inside, very clean and very quiet

I had no idea this place existed and it was definitely worth the drive. Beautiful exhibits, and neat nook for kids.
Love it and its so beautiful
Quaint and lovely
Nice people and atmosphere.
Sure the Y, craft breweries, and restaurants are great, but the Carnegie Center is the real treasure in New Albany. Rotating exhibits, some nationally juried, an award-winning Underground Railroad exhibit, great art and its all free! I never tire of telling friends one doesnt have to go to Cincinnati and pay $20 a head to learn about the Underground Railroad.
Truly different and fun. History and art too!
You need to go here, absorb and mourn painful parts of our country and regions history, celebrate the good people who sought and fought to change it, see echoes of it happening right now, and figure out how we can avoid new painful history from being fully created, and seek to become one of the good people who prevent it from happening again.
A little known jewel that needs to be seen.
Went on their pet exhibit and dogs were allowed for one day. Was super fun
The historicness of the slaves and learning about my ancestors at this place really had a profound effect on me Ill never forget it.
This place is incredible. Please patronize this business!
The Carnegie Center is an invaluable asset to the community. They curate shows with artwork from local artists as well as other artists. There are frequently thoughtful exhibitions that provide a history of the area, insight into the lives of famous historical locals, or prompt consideration for social topics. There are education opportunities for families and children. My kids loved the papermaking workshop. Al Gorman is very knowledgeable and is happy to share with anyone who is interested.
Very insightful and the staff is great! Learned a lot from the Underground Railroad here in Southern Indiana and Kentucky.
