National City Golf Course

Fun course to play! This course should not be taken too seriously, as it truly has a light hearted demeanor. You will find golfers from all skills levels and ages here. I would 100% recommend if you are just looking to have a good time.

I love this 9 hole golf course that I can easily walk it if I wanted to. Nice and green, short holes long holes. Been getting better using this course will cont to go.

Cheap, conditions and pace can vary but overall I have a lot of fun here.

A little beat up place, range looks rough but again it is a range, staff is super nice though. Courses are fine. $12 to play plus $8 for cart

Be careful the new manager will charge you for people in your group that dont show. You can always dispute it by telling your card company You did not Authorize the charges.

The quality of customer service at times is just horrendous. I am almost 7 months pregnant and I have always been able to rent a cart with no problem while I am spectating as my husband plays. No where does it say that carts are for seniors only, and yet every now and again I will get an extremely rude man, whos name I believe is Rob, that will not let us rent a cart. Now that alone isnt the worst thing, but the attitude not my problem shes pregnant etc is just so unacceptable. There were 12 cars actively parked and he claimed there was a large group of seniors coming. When we made it back after finishing the course there were still 7 cars parked. We will definitely not be renewing our membership. I just hope management can remedy the attitude and inconsistency in policy, as well as lack of accommodation. There were other golfers around our age (mid 20s) behind us in carts, that had clearly had a different person check them in, and allowed it.

Im a beginner to golf. The staff is helpful. Food is great. A mobile bartender was also cool..

There are several attractive things about this course. First of all, it is just a 9-hole layout, so it doesnt eat up half your day. Second, even though its a relatively short course, it has a few holes that allow for a driver. Third, it was in fantastic shape. The fairways were lush, and the greens were impeccable. Lastly, $9 in the morning is pretty darn fair. I wish some of the bigger courses had 9-hole deals. This is not a great layout, or an over-challenging course. But it is a fun track, in great shape, and an excellent value. And, most of all, you can play it in the morning and still put in a full days work.

It may not look like much, but this is a great golf course and club. The people are always nice, diverse, and excellent golfers. As for the golf course, it is an amazing layout. Welcoming and forgiving for the beginner and challenging for the advanced. For example, there are at least 6 holes where you have to shape your shots to get them there in two. Additionally at night this golf course turns into a park for the locals. I can say this is truly a community and you see it everyday with the players club, the Pro instructors, and the jr classes that meet up after school. This is what golf should be, affordable, accessable, and welcoming. Leave your snobbiness at the other golf course and come here for fun, you will smile even after a bad round.

Is the best course to practice for a good price

I enjoy this 9 hole course. Lots of fun and chances to be a star(in your mind) but can kill you too! Par 3s, par 4s and a par 5. Cheap round of fun w/cart or tick you off.

Always a good local course with it all, nice driving range, always kept up putting green with some area for chipping, a cool snack bar and staff that is of the golf world

12/27/19 Played National City golf cource with my father and son.My spousr and I have been National City residents all our lives some 50+ years, My father 75+ years and my son 18 of the last 22 years before inlisting in the US Navy.Over the course of 20+ years ; We three men have played this golf course countless times; not only because of the location but also because we enjoy the course but also because we pride ourselves in supporting our local businesses.In previous years there has never been a time when ive been so disappointed with the establishment then our most recent visit. Under new management we learned that there is now No longer any discount given to local residents, military nor Seniors and its for these reasons that i will no longer support this establishment.When new management remove discounts for locals, milatary and seniors; It screams this establishment is focused on bottom line rather then building long term relationships.Course Fees & Food prices increased as well.

I dont think there are ever very many problens there at all. Its a cool experience, overall. I enjoyed it. Golfers are very courteous.

We went for soccer golf, made a reservation a week in advance and they didnt tell us they only had a limited amount of balls to rent. They told us to go buy some. They had no empathy

Great course for the price

This place is ridiculous. What a joke. Greens have divots running through them that mess your putts up. When we started the game the shop only said pay for 9, not 18 holes like we said we wanted to play. Show up to play back 9 and we cant. They said now we have wait over an hour to start another 9. Most other courses are a better deal anyway.

Im always extremely pleased with national City golf course. Whenever Im looking for a chill 9 holes, this is the course to go to. Its actually crazy because for the price, it is extremely well maintained. I pay $10 for being a Chula Vista resident.

Nice find. Visiting from Arizona and found this walking course. Great price for California. I got in with three locals and they showed me around. I enjoyed the course and the conditions. Have fun!

Well maintained. They just improved some tee boxes and fairways are decent. Good course to work on your short game too.

The course is overplayed, as many in the area are, which makes for an overcrowded and inconsistent grounds. Charged me for two rounds then I had to clean up their mistake at my bank. No hole markers, directional signs, and only ground placards giving distances (if you can find them at the end of the tee boxes). They allow their league players play six at a time which further slows your game. Better courses, better professionals, better playing conditions elsewhere.

Good place to practice your skills . quite good instalations and very easy to drive to it.

Convenient wouldnt expect a golf course there in the middle of national City

Was my first time golfing and it was pretty awesome. Have driven by this place all my life and never new it was there. Cant believe there is 9 holes here, and the distance for some of these holes is nothing to sneeze at! $9 for a full round of golf. Sold!!! Plan on buying some clubs (as I borrowed some to play) and hitting the course again! So much fun. The facilities are pretty decent staff is friendly and wasnt crowded when I went (Wednesday).

Love this little mom an pop golf coarse. Been playing there for over 50 years....worked there when I was 13 years old. It has changed over the years but always for the better. It is kind of short but rather challenging. Will use almost every favorite club in the bag. Week days is the best times....not as busy. Weekends can be rather slow because of senior play. Has a good practice range and putting green. Starters are personable and get you in and out in good time. Rates are reasonable....

Great play for a cheap price and the membership is unbeatable

Never played all nine there but grew up watching that # 3 and # 7 holes. That parking lot for the Las Palmas Pool. Watched a lot of slices right on # 7 and learned a few bad words there.

Live right by here. always busy especially the driving range. havent played the course yet but driving range is nice. nice staff and golfers that play here are nice as well. nice breeze from the ocean nice place.

Though only about 2,100 yards, the 9-hole course offers a par 5, four par 4s, and a long par 3. Narrow fairways (some) add challenge to the course. Greens are well maintained and test your reading ability. Shop for discounts online, and a round can cost less than a bucket of balls. A great place to tune your game in under 2 hours.

Fun little course especially that last hole.

Fantastic value. A variety of holes and situations, well maintained and well run. Friendly all around - from the ambassadors on the course to the guys in the café and shop. Also has a large nicely sloped putting practice area and functional driving range.

Greens are fine, bunkers are often with harder soil than most golf course but not all the time. However, this is a quick cheap and fast game. Well, as always, depending who is in front. But most of the time I go here its flowing.

For golf this place is great for a full 9 holes for foot golf it was fun but I really wish they would give you better rules because we were yelled at by employees for not following instructions when we had no clue. They need better communication and weve never went back.

Played on a Monday afternoon.. Not crowded at all... Greens were in great shape!

Very local.golf club. Not the greatest but if u need a cheap local place to practice this would be the place. Club rental also was reasonable!

If you want to play foot golf do not play it at this course. I didnt really mind the guy at the front desk being rude when we checked in but what was a major problem was the the foot golfers share the same space as the golfers. There wasnt a single golfer that didnt get mad at us. They were actually yelling at us to get off the course as though we brought our own soccer balls and snuck on to the course. Three beefy beer drinking golfers aimed golf balls at me and my children and almost hit us! The staff told us we had to hurry and we were going as fast as we could. Every golfer yelled directly at us. Foot golf is slower than golf that is all there is to it. You can not play as fast as a golfer because you cant kick a soccer ball as far as a golf ball. My son is a high level soccer player. It is a waster of your time to golf at National if you want to have fun playing foot golf.

Nice course to work on my iron play. Tight course which allows ou yo hit different shots.

Its a short course but is good for that days you dont have much time to spent in your game

Good place to practice if you dont have enough time for a full round. Decent driving range too if you just want to practice. If you visit, make sure you try the bloody mary made by Freddie. Its the best bloody mary youll ever have.

Do not play after 3pm on Fridays. They have a league that plays after 3pm- Plan accordingly I guess.

The course is okay for the price, but lots of old people play here so its super slow. Plus their course Marshall is basically nonexistent so dont expect someone to monitor pace of play. Just played today behind a fivesome and I bet their average age was 70...
