The scenery is gorgeous, and the park is perfectly peaceful! We stayed in a cabin and the view from the back deck was beautiful. The geese, the water, the enormous green trees and no guests on either side of us made this getaway a true delight. The fixtures, carpet and furniture in the cabin are old and worn, but we were quite comfortable and everything including the cold AC and refrigerator worked properly. There are no bells and whistles here, but if you like nature and enjoy solitude, you will absolutely love this hidden gem.
Small but quiet park, heavily wooded, clean bathhouse with great water pressure and hot water. Nicely spaced spots but not very many big spots for anything over 26/28 ft.WARNING: do not let your gps take you in via Tate Rd
Natchez state park has a wonderful nature for staying for couple of nights. The cabins are clean and nice. They have kitchen and appliances you may need. The cabins are located very close to the lake. Get your fishing license and enjoy the calm and quiet. The only shortcoming of this park is lack of hiking trails. Although, you can find beautiful hiking trails in 20 minutes drive from the park.
The park is well-kept, clean, and a perfect spot for being alone with nature. I was the only human at the park – except for the park ranger, who I envied at that moment – in the office there. The buildings and other structures looked practically new, and everything – including the restrooms – was absolutely pristine. The morning started out pretty cloudy and cool, which is reflected in my images from the park – but the place was still quite beautiful and had a pastoral quality that made me want to linger.
Camp here a few times a year and love to visit the downtown area and ride the trace. Only thing is our site had trees that had been cut down and the site was a mess. Wish we were told this when we made reservations.

A beautiful park at an affordable price. They offer a monthly rate. There is a lake view. Washer and dryer. They dont charge extra for electricity. Concrete pads, tables, fire pit, 50 and 30 amp. Friendly and helpful staff. 12 miles to Natchez and wonderful sightseeing.
We had a Wonderful time!! Nature trails was nice,,lake with wild life ..very beautiful! Clean park,play ground and bathhouse!! Cant wait to go back... there is a pavilion and boat ramp, neither which we used, but very nice.

The campground is very nice. Not many sites but i got a place right on the lake. Only a few campers in Nov. Very very quiet and DARK...difficult to find these days. I came to see the Mounds but stayed 3 nights because it was so quiet. The museum was so so, the Mounds magnificent but their story is sparse and most destroyed by farming around it. Still you can feel that its a special place and Im glad these have been saved.
A quiet, serene park. Its in a retirement city and the park is huge. Its rustic,old, with much history scattered around the park and outside it. It connects to natchez trace and your in for finding interesting history spots along the way
Great fishing lake. Caught 2 hogs 6.45 & 5+ lbr with the condition hard. Water visibility 1-in and still caught fish cant wait for his leg to clear up from all the flooding to come back.
A great place to take the kids & enjoy a pristine view of Mother Nature. The fishing is great two & the facilities are great for camping or picnicing. They have a wonderful playground by the lake. I encourage anyone to visit the Park service here & their personal are friendly & helpful.
Love the proximity to Natchez, and the Natchez Trace. I love the whole area and the people are friendly and helpful. On a number of occasions we were approached by locals, who readily identified us as tourists, and would recommend local sites of interest. Will we be back? You bet.

Very loud music, called office, got a recording to call police. They did not do anything. Park is not kept up, zero security. Walmart would have been better.
I like how woodsy the campground is, and most of the campsites are pretty spacious, but there is no camp host or anyone else on duty after hours, and we had very loud neighbors that sat outside and played there music loudly into the night.
The place is easy to get to and its quite gorgeous. There is a few spots for kids to play and areas for a picnic. I went for disc golf and hiking trails. I didnt get much of either. Disc golf grass was grown and the trail was in questionable condition. I dont think its due to lack of the park keeping it up. I think its mainly because most of the traffic for the park doesnt do those 2 attractions that often. Everything else seemed to be clean and well kept like the bathrooms and play area. I would recommend this for kayaking, fishing, and camping. I wouldnt recommend for disc golf or trail walking.

Nice space between sites, concrete pads, shaded, concrete fire pits, picnic tables, great bath house. Some sites have treed lake view. One of the best RV parks weve stayed in. Highly Recommend

The office was really far away from the entrance, 2.5 miles. It was tough ride on my bicycle to get there for a map, and the soda machine took my money. There were signs that warned campers not to go into the bush because there are hunters. They allow hunting in the state park? Ridiculous...

This was 5 days of wonderful bird music and soft wind ruffling through the trees. There needs to be some maintenance work done on the cabins but it was okay. Water was really muddy which made catching fish almost a chore....but it was just so peaceful!
Theres not many places to fish from land. Goose poop is everywhere so watch your step. Decent looking cabins and campsites. Dont have high hopes to catch any fish.
My best friend & I stayed in the last cabin 7B for 4 days & cannot wait to go back!!...staff is wonderful, & place is very quiet. Also I left my big purse the one with everything you dont need to carry with you ALL the time. I called the park, within 10 minutes i received a call back saying they had it. I received it in the mail today with everything still in it...loose change and all....and the lake...stunning!!!

I like this place. Its set deep in the woods and the cabins have space between them and offer a nice sense of privacy.Speaking of the cabins, the interiors and furniture are really run down and could use some basic updating. Hopefully this happens at some point but surprisingly, they do offer satellite tv. I believe all the cabins are satellite ready but some may not have a tv. Check with the office and if your cabin does not have a tv, you can bring your own. We stayed in cabin one and it had a 32 inch tv.And finally, the bank fishing for catfish is pretty good. We caught a fair number on chicken livers and stink bait under a cork and fried them at the cabin.
Yea amazing place to take the kids they also rent cabins with light already on refrigerator,water microwave already there clean cabins, you can canoe, launch boats,fish, swim in some places,always game warden on duties, safe clean place for families

Disc golf course is completely forgotten about, searched for vibrant colored disc in open field for 30 minutes. Someone needs to cut the grass

Our first stop before we head north up the Natchez Trace. Its a lovely State Park. The Park Office staff are great. She was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful. We always stay here whether we are at the beginning of the trace on our spring drive north or at the end of the trace on our fall trip south.

It has been a great place to spend a few days while visiting the historic sites in the area. The campground is very well laid out making it easy to set up on a site. Hunting prevents access to the entire park, but we still found hikes that allowed us to get our exercise. Not a fisherman so I did not take advantage of the lake.

I went to play Disc Golf and this was the worse place I have ever been. It had only 9 holes and that was the good thing. The grass was not cut short properly, so when your drive went off for about 10 feet or more it takes for ever to find your disc back in that long grass. There are no T pads, its very confusing to play. They have absolutely no idea what disc golf is about and it look like they even care less.

This is the most oddly laid out park Ive ever seen. The office is in the back of the park, miles from the entrance and way past the campgrounds, where the turn around is a difficult joke. The sites are hard to get in to, though some could easily be made pull-throughs with a Bobcat and about 20 minutes and the dump station is squirreled away in area B, nowhere near the exit and a long way from area A.On top of that their only nature trail is inaccessible as no one seems to want to spend the 2 hrs and one straight log required to fix the bridge over the water. Nice lake and friendly staff, but atrocious design.
Enjoyed it. Lots of roads and hills for biking. Peaceful fishing and small playground. Saw turkeys geese ducks and cranes.

Very nice state park and campground. We stayed there from May 26th through june 1st 2018. They have two campground sites and we stayed in campground A which is the smaller of the two. They have a limited number of full hookup sites wich it is alwaysnice to have sewer on your site. This is something I would love to see our Tennessee state parks do.The restrooms an showers were nice and clean and even had A/C.You are about a twenty minute drive from Natez MS. with alot of history in this old city. And best of all you can drive right across the river and save up to 20 cents a gallon on fuel in LA. and while you are there you might as well pick up some crawfish. um um good.The only neg. was the campground had loadsof ticks and horse flys but you lear to live with those things in nature.Happy Travels
We enjoy staying here in cabins at least once a year in the spring or early summer. Caught plenty of fish each visit! Took home 51 lrg.shellcrackers,32 catfish, 9 Crappie, 6 bass! We are from Saucier,Ms. 3 1/2 mi.drive

A few of us used the Reserve America website to reserve (we didn’t even check-in at the Park office) several RV campsites in the “B Loop” for a weekend. There was a sign on the campsites with our names and dates. We arrived late on a Friday afternoon and drove straight to our campsites and set up. We had little trouble backing. The campground is in a wooded area and each site had a level concrete pad, picnic table, grill, fire ring, 50/30/15 Amp electrical hook-up, water hook-up (mine leaked badly when used so to minimize mud around my Airstream, I only run water for showers), and a garbage can, but no sewer hookup.A short walk away from the campsites is a centrally located bathhouse with showers and laundry facility (I only noticed one washer/dryer). The showers had a few hooks and shelves and were not lockable. A bit of a security concern for me. There is a short nature trail that starts on the edge of the B Loop and finishes on the lake. A sewage dumping station is located on the way out of B Loop. Occasionally a park employee would drive through to collect garbage and mark the sites that have been reserved. Overall, the other campsites look clean & well-maintained. The campground is nice and quiet. There are few lights in the campgrounds, and therefore Im a little concerned about walking around at night.My AT&T cell phone was barely usable. My Verizon 4GLTE jetpack MiFi, using external antennas, had 2 bars and was usable. A few Jackson, MS TV channels are viewable.The Natchez State Park is located close to the Natchez Trace Parkway and only a short drive from the city of Natchez, MS. The roads going into and out of the Park are a little rough, narrow and curvy. The abandoned buildings are an interesting landmark.We camped at the Natchez State Park in Travel Trailers.
Loop A was closed. Looks like it has been abandoned. Stayed in loop B (sites 22-48) near the lake that was obscured by the thick undergrowth. A couple paths led to the lake but you only had what amounted to a 10x10 area clear of foliage on the bank. Lots of biting gnats and other insects and ticks were rampant. Also ticks were rampant. And my wife says to mention the ticks and how rampant they were. The ticks were eating flea collars off small dogs. Lots of low hanging branches to be avoided by 5th wheels and class As. Bathhouse had a washer & dryer along with a vending machine for sodas. Water and electric (20, 30, 50 amp) but no sewer hookup. Concrete pads were nice at first but after the deluge most were covered with about 50% slippery slidin mud. 2 pull thrus were available. If you like to watch satellite tv then you need to stay in 36, 37 or 39 and bring 200+ feet of cable and set your dish up by the lake. OTA TV had 3 public broadcasting channels with strong signal and 4 other stations that faded in and out. There were no cable hookups. We have verizon and had about 3 bars of 3G coverage. Several feral cats wandering about and I witnessed the ranger feeding them (nice man but he doesnt have to deal with cats foraging on the picnic table). The ranger checks on the cats more than the campers, seriously. Oh, and Do NOT take the State Park road off hwy 98 no matter what Siri says. Use the entrance off hwy 61. It was Memorial Day weekend 2017 when we went but all campers were quiet and respectful. We found one hiking trail but could only go about 150 feet because the footbridge was out. There was a creosote pole you could walk across but there was a sharp tree stump from a tree about 2 in diameter that would likely impale you if you lost your balance and fell off. Met lots of nice people. Prettiest spot is down by the office. Thats where you get the best view of the lake. Its best to stop at your site if youve already made your reservations and drop off the rv then drive down to the office to register. The turn loop at the office is kind of inadequate especially if other people have parked their cars for the day.A day trip into Natchez was nice, casinos, tours, good food. No complaints as the wife scored on the slots over $400 using the $20 credit they gave us
