We had an amazing time making our candles at the workshop over the weekend! Everyone in the staff was very sweet :) The facility is beautiful as well as the vessels that you get to choose from! I recommend going online and getting a feel for what scents / vessels you might like so that you dont feel rushed to choose in the moment with all of the awesome varieties / colors they offer! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5:#1 My candle smells AMAZING but it just isnt as potent as I thought it would be. Its great for small spaces but doesnt really impact any bigger rooms. That being said, after its blown out It smells amazing for a bit. It also burns a little fast, but I did choose a 3 wick candle as well and have trimmed the wicks as said to be appropriate.#2 The Bride to Be poured her candle and it came out short sadly! Unsure, but we werent sure if the scale possibly was off a bit or if her mixture might have been a little off. They quickly assured her that THEY would fix it before we returned to pick them up. Although that was very sweet, we were all hoping they would help her fix it (and let her have a part in it) during the workshop as we didnt think it would have been anything major, but not a huge deal and we were thankful that they at least fixed it up for her. We had 3 other candles -- 2 out of the three were perfectly filled with the recipes and the other was slightly low but not too bad.Ultimately that being said, we would visit again as it was a great experience in general :) They all ended up being beautiful.COVID Pro Tip:Be prepared to have your mask & gloves on the whole time youre there! It gets a little stuffy and keep the makeup on the lower face light for comfort :) A back up mask is also recommended if you dont want to smell like tons of scents that you smelled while you are there choosing as youre supposed to smell them with your mask on as well.
The workshop was such a fun experience! We want to make this an at least annual thing. It was very difficult to choose a scent because nearly all of them smelled great. They also have plenty of nice vessels to choose from. The employees that were leading the workshop were all friendly, professional, and patient. The teacher led the class in a way that was easy to follow.Tip: get there early and pick out a scent before the workshop starts, because you won’t have time to smell them all during the workshop.COVID days tip: don’t plan to use the mask you wear to the workshop afterward. It’ll smell like 100 different scents from when you sample all the scents. I was so glad I had an extra mask in my car.
This was a great fun thing to do with some friends! It would be good for a day date/night also. The instructor was very knowledgeable, nice and helpful.I believe $35 is a little pricey for the class and everything involved but it was something good/fun/different to do. Also, once your candle has burned, you can take it back and have them do it again for you for $20. That’s pretty neat. You get to pick your vessel, scent and make the candle. Once the wax has been poured it has to set for 3 hours and you come back to pick it up. They will make sure your wicks are even and look nice as the final product and cut them down. When I picked my candle up, it looks like when they cut the wick, the part that was cut off fell into the wax and they didn’t/couldn’t get it out. Not a big deal but since it’s laying on the top layer of the candle I can see it.I’ve only burned my candle for 2 or so hours and it smells nice. I haven’t noticed if it’s any better than other candles so far.
I really enjoyed my experience making candles at The Candle Bar. They have an emphasis on sustainability, meaning if you bring in a vessel from a past candle making class you can refill the candle as a discounted price. Some of their vessels you can reuse as a margarita glass, an ice cream bowl, or a small potted plant.I love the process they walk you through and you feel confident in pouring and mixing scents. It was a great activity for a birthday or special occasion and you can even have some alcoholic beverages while you pour. The little shop inside is also fantastic if youre looking for some local businesses to support. I love to buy gifts for house warming and birthdays in here as they have not only candles but soaps, lotions, lip balms, mens products (OLIVINA Men).Definitely stop in to see how cute it is. Worth noting that the candle that you pour in the workshop lasts a LONG time and is strong :)
It was 1st time making a candle... And I really enjoyed myself and I would recommend trying it at least once
Update: Ive been burning the candle often and am pleased with the longevity and superior fragrance.Fun night out doing a low-stress activity. I guess the most stressful thing is maybe deciding the container and scent. It was fun. The facility is beautiful! We enjoyed it. The cost included everything and you can refill the vessel for a discount. Thats pretty cool.
Took my teenage daughters here during a weekend stay in Nashville. Did not disappoint! We all had a great time choosing our vessels and picking the perfect scents and making our own candles. Such a fun and affordable experience. Would recommend for families with tween and teenagers as well as girls getaways and groups. It was also cool to see the behind the scenes of Paddywax corporate.
Great experience. We went for the wifes birthday she loved it
It was an enjoyable experience, though short. The real disappointment is that neither of our candles burn well. They are both three wick candles, but they both burn unevenly. They end up putting one or two wicks out on its own. We feel we paid a lot of money for pretty disappointing candles.
Knowledgeable staff. The candle making price is really fair when you compare how much a nice candle typically cost, and its a fun short outing with friends. Really nice shop and a look into their open office space at the headquarters at the Berry Hill location.
Smells great, ladies are great. I understand why the price is why it is.This is my second experiences here and I enjoyed myself alot better. Meredith ( sorry if misspelled) is awesome. She did a great job. I will be back for another occasion.
The experience was unique. Instructor kept trying to make people laugh but humor was far too dry for most the audience. My group and I felt slightly rushed and packed in like sardines. Picked up my candle only to find it’s super soft and doesn’t burn right, same outcome for 2 others in my group. Very saddened by this considering the price tag. Smelled great the first hour it actually burned though.
I didnt make my own candle, but it looked fun. They have a ton of premade candles and other random notebooks and stuff like that to match. It obviously smells amazing, just like their candles. And the woman that checked me out was really pretty, so thats nice. Id 100% go back
This place is amazing. The building is located in the Nashville Design District, the minute you walk in the amazing aroma of candles will make you swoon. Whitney and Emilie couldnt be sweeter! Highly recommended
Great for a birthday, friends getting together, or just mixing up date night.
A bit expensive, and not as creative as I wished, but not their fault, it seems. The class was fun, but I wish you got a little more bang for your buck. The shopping area was interesting, lots to choose from. Wouldnt do it again, as I could have just bought the exact scented candle I made and the class wasnt very long. Workers were nice.
I came here for a group pour event. We had such a great time. They were very accommodating. The instruction was amazing and well practiced and we greatly enjoyed the new Chandler system. The scent selections were very nice, though Id love to have been able to mix my own or to get what was available on the sales floor. Also, be prepared for choice fatigue: there are so many options. I might come again when gold goes back out of style.
Oh man. This was one the coolest experiences I have ever had.I went in with super low expectations. I mean, how much fun could making a candle really be? Well, it turns out it’s super fun and interesting.First, I showed up early because of our baby’s nap schedule. You guys cleared a spot for me and squeezed me in before the class even started. Meanwhile, you set my toddler up in the waiting area with beverages for him and my husband.I was walked through the entire process. Your staff was super patient while I smelled every scent known to man. They were really helpful going over what smells I liked and didn’t like.I ended up choosing a sandalwood vanilla mix. The process to make it was way more scientific than I anticipated. I chose a beautiful white ceramic container. The next day I picked it up before we flew home to Alberta. This was one of the coolest experiences and unique souvenirs of our first family trip. To top it off, I have NEVER had a candle scent my entire house so wonderfully.
Such a fun experience and what an amazing work space! All of the staff is super helpful and even the candle I made was amazing!
I absolutely loved the Candle Bar. Such a fun experience to share with friends.
Its amazing and how fast its grown,I look forward to visiting the place again
This was a great experience! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The candles (& all the other merchandise) are beautiful! Well definitely be back!
A little pricing. Candle.bar provides you with everything you need but, I would like to bring my own candle vessel or container for my wax. Containers are 25 & up. You cannot creat you own scent. They have vessels with scents that you may select. Plus you fee for the class. My bill was 65.00 when completed.
We had so much fun! This is a great girls night out or date night!
The process was short and the quality of the candle is not worth the fee to make it. The staff was friendly, but I will not come back. The candle we made here is practically leaking through it’s base. As you spend $35 to make it, I don’t think it’s worth it.
Delightful little experience. Perfect for a bit of an afternoon.
Great experience, enjoyed learning about candle making and talking with others in the class. Friendly staff and a huge variety of candles make. Recomend you put this on your list of things to do.
I made 3 candles for my wife’s christmas present and she loved them! Thank you, it was a great experience choosing the scents and then making the candles. Mom loves nothing better than a great smelling candle made with love.
The class was a lot of fun and the candle turned out great. I wish they had an option to make more than one without repeating the class.
Great experience, staff are always friendly love the candle scents and they last a long time .
Engaging and fun. Not as daunting as you might think and the scents are unusual and extremely enticing.
Great thing to do for girls, or if your significant other loves candles. The actual class and candle making doesnt take that long.
We had an Amazing time!
