When walking in Nashville this is a good place to visit. It is not original buildings or location. The settlement give you a feeling for what the first settlers managed to start a place on the river that we all have come to enjoy. The first child was born in a cave along the banks of the river.
Nashville is a must see! A small city with a plethora of character and charm. This beautiful little city has an abundance of music and architectural landscaping. The history of Nashville and it’s deep rooted musical connections are something everyone should see. For me, This year, it was Christmas is Nashville.Merry Christmas to all and to all a Happy New Year.
Nice to see if youre walking downtown and doing other things, but not if you are necessarily driving here just to see this fort. The buildings have no historical value; they are just replicas of typical fort buildings. In fact, one of the descriptions states that the fort was located somewhere in the area. Lots of homeless people sleeping in the fort, but we felt safe. This is an open type of historical place. There is no attendant or guide. Its kind of like an open exhibit, so its accessible 24/7. Many of the signs need to be rewritten for non-history buffs. As tourists, they were pretty hard to understand if you dont know much about the area.
Lots of cool information about the history of Nashville. Dont miss the plaque to the north about how it got started and the display to the south honoring the local native tribes. Was recently renovated and a decent 10 min history lesson.
We arrived to find all the buildings closed and locked. Dont know if it was a scheduled shut down or what, there were no signs to that effect. But we walked through the fort and read all the signs and enjoyed ourselves regardless. Being in the fort makes you feel like youre stepping back in time. Also got a great shot of Nissan stadium. So definitely put this on your list, just call first
I would love to see the plaques updated with more PC (and more accurate) information. Its not actually the historical site, but a replica of it nearby the original site. Not that I expected differently, but Googles description is slightly misleading
Nice little piece of history. Has a great feel to it.
It was cold but a nice experience. Glad we made the stop. The people in Nashville downtown are friendly. Some downtowns weve visited, you just feel this vibe that its not family friendly. But in Nashville, even theres music bars everywhere, it just feels family friendly. Its really nice that you can rent bikes and scooter almost everywhere.
Pretty much just an open space homeless shelter. Seriously, the Nashville homeless need our help. They just hang out down here to skim off the tourist.
More history for you buffs and I see my past ancestors once walked my current path
This is a cool little stop off of the beaten path of Broadway. There isnt much there except for the historic log buildings. But, its really cool to have a little piece of history that survived and still being maintained in the downtown area. Its probably not something that I would go to downtown to visit, but if I am walking around it is a nice little side distraction to the hustle and bustle of the city.
Cool to see the replica of the fort which was actually not in the same location but close. Didnt care to see all the garbage below the fort on the edge of the river. Hope the city of Nashville takes some pride in their riverfront and cleans it up.
Cool historic spot. WAY too many homeless people here. I felt like I was exploring their home instead of visiting a historic fort. They were sleeping on the ground everywhere and all posted up like they have been there for awhile
Smelled disgusting because of all the homeless people laying around trashing the place. Couldn’t really walk around because they were all spread out blocking the walk ways.
We had a lot of fun going around and looking at the area. Its also right next to the river. Really beautiful
Nice bit of history by the water. The bums pretty much hold down the fort, if ur lucky you can catch one peeing on the historical spot like we did
The Rich Cultural History of Fort Nashboro is preserved amidst a stunning view of the Cumberland River!
Awesome place to visit
Neat place to check out and read the historical placards. Its a small destination, so it doesnt take long to walk through. Its right on the river straight across from the stadium. Its a very scenic spot in downtown as well as an important part of history. I dont know if the doors are ever unlocked to go inside of the buildings but everything was locked up tight on the Saturday we were there
Great historical site. Also gives you a true idea of just how high the flood waters of 2010 were as you can see the water line on the fort.
A self guided tour. It would have been really nice if it wasnt for all of the Drug addicts (not homeless) hanging out and sleeping around the beautiful river walk (incl the fort)
Historically rich. Any Indian should make a personal trip here.
Nice !! I love old history . Amazing construction
Not a fun place the only people that where there where homeless sleeping on the benches.
Interesting but it is not a museum, so no exponants. Great view
Great place!!
Great historic feel when you think this was the beginning of what is now Nashville. The only thing to wish for is live reanactments with actors portraying people from Fort Nashboros history.
They need electrical outlets to charge phones and lookout machines you put a quarter in like binoculars and an open mic night, thank you, love you all
Cool to see the historical sites. I was surprised at how small it was!
The building itself and the historical plaques were great. However there was limited shaded seating and there was trash around the site.
An Amazing time in History. God Bless
Cool place to visit if your in the area for sure
Definitely take the time to walk through this historic gem, just up the hill from the main drag. A glimpse back in time.
Nice historical area
Wanted to visit with the kids, I didnt even let them out of the car. Very dirty, junkies laying around blasting music.... Would not recommend
Interesting place to visit on the river
It looks good but miss it being open so you could see the inside of the houses
Learned some history that I didnt know; very interesting.
Fun little spot to walk around. Not really much and little supporting information, but if youre interested in American history, its nice to check out. If not, its a good for 15 minute walk if youre looking to burn some time.
I am glad they rebuilt the site but I miss the reenactors...
Nice history
Awesome place but wish you could tour the inside of the cabins.
Not very much info or things to do... Cant look inside
Awesome history, the guide new what they were talking about
Love historical places...
A very neat little place on the riverfront that was actually redone from original it has an original had to be restored and they did a very very nice job right across the Cumberland River from Nissan Stadium very nice little Park
Cool to read about the history
Historic option if youre close by.
A cool piece of Nashville History.
A great piece of history
Very rich in history.
Great historic location.
Homeless people all over it. Begging for money, making it dirty and littering.DONT TAKE THE FAMILY!
Great history of how the town came to be
Worth going. Definitely history there
Nice historical park alongside the cumberland river in downtown Nashville.
Here for CMAfest. Food trucks are near the fort and it was shady there so great place to sit and refresh.
Very cool to think how old that place is.
The birth place of Nashville. If you are into history, go visit.
Great place to visit.
The remodel of this place is great and all the new stuff to look at really brings in the tourist good job Nashville
Not as nice as 25 years ago alot homeless people and drunk bums sleeping at building very disappointed
Amazing music.. food great also..So a win win place
Nice place to visit
Great sight to visit.
Cute little piece of Nashville history.
Okay but all the buildings were locked at 11am on a Tuesday.
Nice clean historic area.
Cool views.
Great construction, nice piece to look at. I just wish it was more interactive...
Very disappointed. Its all new construction, there wasnt much information and it was all locked up tight even though we went in the middle of its open time.
Relaxing night out of the city, drink is ridiculously expensive
Informative display of an early settlement.
Historical significance.
Replica of original fort.
You probably should visit the site where all of Nashville began
Great history of Nashville!
