Cannery Ballroom is a nice venue, with good acoustics and great bartenders (beers run between$5 & $7). Ive seen two shows there in 2019. My only complaint its that its j-shaped so there are definitely better views in some parts of the venue than others. The mens bathroom was in good shape mid-show and there is no bathroom attendent.
Hidden(?) gem! Great place for a show. One of the few venues that even attempts to book shows for fans under 21. For a family that enjoys live music, this place is hard to beat.
Good size place for a sold out show. Loooved the fact that the water (in a cup) was free. Was so helpful for a pregnant lady just trying to enjoy some of her favorite music. Gets hot with a bunch of people so that was a big plus for me Plenty of bathroom stalls too. Didnt have any problems & everyone there was friendly. Had a blast
This is a great space for a venue for a meeting, which is how I experienced it for two days for a training event. There is a large space for teaching and then several areas that can be used for separate smaller groups. The room is very nice with good views of Nashville out the large windows. The location is also within walking distance of some nice hotels.
This is a good place to see a show. Even if you arrive late, there are good views from the back. The acoustics are good and the staff is friendly and professional. Most pleasant surprise is the bathrooms which were very clean and in better condition that a lot of clubs this size. Overall, this is a great venue.
Great venue. Also used for weddings and other major events. Great for many occasions. But a great concert venue!
I went to this venue last night and was close to the barricade up front. Thanks so much to the staff/security for handing out free water to everyone and doing a great job and making sure everyone was alright. I have been to so many concert venues around the country, none of them have done that and that was very kind. The stage, speakers, and parking were great too. nice venue!
Nice venue for live performances of bands. Plenty from Nashville too! If you like converted old warehouses, this is a venue for good music and hangin with friends. Parking can be a challenge as with any location in Nashville.
Had a blast! Nice intimate, clean venue, only drawback is its SRO. I would definitely see more shows here. Close, free parking available, if you get there a little early. They have a full bar, and the bartender we dealt with all night was great. Some of the security guys had chips on their shoulders, but the others were pretty nice.
This was a great concert venue! It has a cool industrial feel. The security at the show was the best Ive seen. They were polite, friendly, and funny. They also gave away cases of bottled water to the fans in the front rows. They made us feel safe and gave us room to have fun. This seems like a new attitude for a concert venue and it worked well.
Every time we have the opportunity to see a show here, we have a great time. I love the smaller venues that Nashville still has. You lose those in the major cities and its nice to be able to see great bands up closer. Ticket prices are reasonable. Parking isnt bad but can be a little hectic. Drinks arent too pricey. The restrooms are always clean and stocked. If you havent seen a show here, yet, do yourself a favor and go!
Saw Poppy at this venue and the concert was amazing. The small loft style made this event feel more cozy and close than larger venues. I really enjoy the Cannery Ballroom and its location in Nashville.
I went to the venue last night and was a little worried about the reviews commenting on security but they were absolutely great! They were very helpful and friendly, anytime I had a question someone was there and more than happy to answer. The drinks were about the price you would expect for a bar having shows they were no more than the price Ive paid at any other bar closer to home especially for one with big name bands. The sound was great, nothing like people really getting into the music and singing along to a band they love. There was plenty of room to linger in the back of you wanted or you could squeeze your way up front. We were up front at first since we arrived about an hour early but moved after a trip out to the smoking area and bathrooms which was still fine. Its just a place for shows and the staff was excellent, definitely would return.
Entertainment is as advertised. Some great bands. Service is good. Security needs work. Directions given by security as to where to line up to be able enter when doors open were misleading and downright wrong (or security did not follow normal procedure). Was told to line up at fence on sidewalk as have done previously but security totally blowed that off this time and let people enter first that had lined up at the door. No apologies ( they actually laughed about it.
Great venue, clean bathrooms especially considering that it was a big show. Friendly staff as well but also felt safe. Had an amazing time thank you.
Felt like I was in a trendy studio apartment watching a live show. The sound was great and the hardwood really gave it a nice feel.
Great venue but the acoustics really pick up everything. In a less than packed show, most of the way to the front, you could clearly (and loudly) hear conversation from the dingbats in the back who were more concerned with chatting than they were with listening to the performer. This of course is more about show etiquette than anything, but it says something about the acoustics of the room as well.Gorgeous historical venue with a great vibe.
I photographed a lovely wedding here in 2018 and it couldnt have been better. The space is huge and is laid out for easy functionality. Ceremony in the main ballroom, then have cocktail hour in a room off to the side while the ballroom is flipped for the reception. There are plenty of windows for natural light during the day, and it has a beautiful view of the city.
This place is awesome to your favorite band up close but unfortunately when it is hot it isnt ideal. I felt that they had no air on at all not even a fan. Made it almost impossible to enjoy and their beer selection sucks.
Great venue for concerts. Can get a little crowded depending on the performer. Drinks arent crazy priced. Some bands will meet and greet with fans. Recently revisited and after two years I would still agree with original comments. I guess if its not broken dont fix it.
Fun venue with some history to it! When I went though. The air had gone out and it was VERY uncomfortable; a girl even passed out! There is a beautiful bar right next to the stage so you can stay nice and liquored up while jamming out to your favorite band!
Great music venue that often gives you an opportunity to chat with the musicians before or after the show.
Saw Bad Religion here. Great show! The beer prices were the biggest surprise. $5 tall boys!
Great Venue! Intimate, Sound is great, & Beer is very reasonably priced!! Check it out!!!
Excellent concert venue! Parking was very good. Ill definitely be going back.
Had a blast seeing Wheeler Walker Junior. Three bartenders kept the wait for drinks short. Get here early for a good view! Its a long room with the stage angled off to one side
Kind of strange in that the Cannery Ballroom and Mercy Lounge are literally in the same building. Both are genuinely good venues.
Lovely place. Great space for entertainment.
One of my favorite music venues in Nashville, (Mercy lounge being one of them).
Went to church at ethos there I love praising God with my ethos family.
Great small venue. Love the atmosphere and has great sound.
Had a great time seeing Yonder Mountain String Band at this venue.
Great venue for live shows. Note: the parking lot charges $5-10 for event parking.
Bartenders were great. Security was tight and took out anyone who caused actual issues. The Bad Religion show was AWESOME. They made sure every area was staffed well, so there was no wait anywhere, which was nice. A+ for handling punk and metal dudes.
They have a good set up for entertainment. The staff are nice. They keep it pretty hot, Im sure to get people to buy more drinks. Their mixed drinks arent very strong at all. It was a very fun night though.
This place was great!! all staff was friendly, view of stage was awesome, sound was great...well definitely return for more shows!!
Awesome bartenders that handle crowds well. Good space for a large or small show
A lot of fun if you drink. Really cramped with more popular shows.
Great atmosphere. Hope to see another show soon. Worth a visit
This is a great, small venue with a unique environment that combines and industrial vibe with warm woods for a cool concert/event space. The bar tenders were extremely friendly and attentive, as well.
Intimate and lovely venue. I had a blast at a concert there!
This is a great little concert venue with a long bar and friendly bartenders! If you have a chance to see a show here, you cant go wrong. The only downside is that the room is longer than it is wide, meaning that you may not be able to get as close to the stage as you would in another venue.
Went for the Mountain Goats concert. Really nice venue. Parking was only $5 right beside building.
Had a decent experience seeing Wallows, great atmosphere but the audio seemed a bit distorted. Great place for an event though, we had a great time!
I have lived in Tennessee for 4.5 years. Only found out about this place a few months back. It is amazing. The setup, the bartenders, the acoustics were all great. What really got me were the security guards. Most had smiles on and were pretty laid back. You could catch some joking around with people, actually holding conversations, and dancing at times. Coming from Denver you don’t see that. I always read reviews on places I’m going to go visit so I know why to expect. After going here numerous times all I can say is just be respectful and they will do the same. I’ve been to my fair share of concert venues in Nashville and Denver, this one takes the cake. Do yourself a favor and go visit. You won’t regret it.
If you plan on going to concert here, be sure to wear comfortable shoes as well as cool clothing as its a standing venue & it cant get pretty hot in there as it begins to fill up. Other than that, the staff is phenomenal & on top of their game & the venue was very clean & well kept, they even passed out free waters during the intermission between singers which was nice. Get there early & get a great spot right up by the stage.
This venue was nothing special. It did what it needed. The sound was okay, restrooms were nice and clean. I love small shows like this. Up close and personal.
Staff is very friendly and efficient with security when artists come to perform. I went here for a second time to come see Poppy, and there was someone at the concert who kept trying to jump over the rail to get on stage and trip me, and security handled her very well. Whether it be Mercy Lounge, Cannery Ballroom or the High Watt, all of the venues are neat!
Great little venue. Lots of good name bands come though here. Its nice to see them in an almost intimate setting.
My favorite venue in Nashville. I have been so many times now and every single time the staff were amazing, bartenders friendly and wonderful, and the music always sounds fantastic. Even with the poles and being in the back you can still see the stage and band very well. Parking does suck but that is why you Uber or Lyft! There is not a single time I do not feel safe. Its always a good time! Last concert I attended was Blue October and lets not forget to mention how awesome prices are for the amazing experience you will get there.
The staff and extra security were all very nice last night for the Rival Sons concert. I am hoping to be able to attend other shows here in the near future. Parking is plentiful and plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby. A very good, long bar inside, also.
Devil makes 3! Hot fire!
Great Venue love the shows that are played here.
Awesome watching Ryan Hurd there tonight!
Great show from My So Called Band and great venue
Great historic building, not great sound unless you find the right spot. The performance area is brick and angled which can make for weird acoustics. Not like theres anything to be done about it, just a reality.
The Kim Petras concert was amazing everything flowed very well will return.
Decent venue. Nice and intimate setting for concerts. My friends and I went to see Steven Wilson (Progressive Rock) in December 2018. The show was great and the staff were pretty friendly. The concerts get pretty loud cause of poor sound absorption, so I recommend getting ear plugs if you are sensitive to loud sounds.
The sexy big room in the Cannery building. It is a much better room since they moved the stage: you can see better from the back of the crowd.
Neat venue with multiple shows occuring on different levels and rooms. Show was quality for a great price!
Alana Baraz concert was awesome!! Vibe was really cool and the performances were really good too... (Opening act JMSN was REALLY good!!). Alana has a stage presence that is relatable and real AND she has a GREAT voice live (not all performers do). Overall a GREAT experience at a GREAT venue!!
Love this place. Great sound and good drink prices. Best part though is the burger vender out in the parking lot. That guy is awesome!
Its an oddly shaped venue for a concert to be performed in with a weird set up outside wait in line. Can definitely tell it was an old warehouse. Wish they would do some more updating so the bands could have more variety with their shows.
Nice venue. only complaint is how hot it gets. had to wait in a line across the street before being let in which was a little odd.
Great Old School Concert Venue in the area of nashville referred to as The Gulch. They serve affordable Alcohol and have an outdoor smokers patio. Looking forward to visiting again.
I would have preferred to be able to buy beer without having to go up to the next floor, but the Cannery serves its purpose.
Shows are great, venue is awesome and security really does a great job keeping the shoes safe!
Great place to watch live music.
Great music venue for small concerts and shows. It is located right out of the busy part of downtown so its close to all of the city life but away enough to enjoy great music
Good atmosphere but very strict. You can only drink at one little area...which isnt close to the front and, if you have someone with you who isnt 21 or doesnt drink, you have to seperate. Also, I got tired of moshing so I stood on the edge and the bouncer said he either had to push me in or I had to back up. I paid to be there, so theres no reason to be a jerk...
Great place for a show even when sro
Went for a Triumpg party. Great space
Im usually accustomed to Rockettowns mediocre security and lack of enforced regulations leading to uncontrollable mosh pits and people getting pushed to the floor- so to see the wonderful security provided at the Cannery was a welcome change! These security guards were extremely polite and diligent. They seemed to be truthfully enjoying the concert themselves and were bantering with other concert goers but at the same time they made sure to keep the mosh pit under control and make sure everyone had a safe fun time. I would definitely come back to another concert here anytime!
We attended the Goon Anniversary party here. The venue was spacious and the bar was big. There is an outside space for smoking and the bathrooms were clean. There is parking close by.
Great venue for rock and Americana. They book amazing acts on the regs.
Great place to see live music! #kflay
Great place to see your favorite band up close. Been going here for years
The show was awesome. The venue had us wait outside for almost a hour to get in. We missed the opening act. It was a cool night, but everyone was complaining about how hot the building was. Still a good place to see a show.
Not a bad spot, but if you are going to have a packed house at an event in the middle of the day you might want a better air conditioning system.
Love this place! Super cool venue! Great security team, never have any issues! HUGE BAR! The only thing to remember is that when you go to a bigger name band it will be packed and it will be hard to get to the bathroom if you are near the stage!
Amazing show and great spot for a venue
This venue is nice, but there are no chairs for concerts!. Having back issues, this was difficult to think of standing for 2 hours; however when asked they did bring me a stool.Acoustics are good, but feel this is much better as a party venue than a concert venue.
Went to see Tank and the Bangas. The show was PHENOMENAL!! The venue is nice and set up good. However, my only complaint was the sound. During the opener and Tank and the Bangas there were several times that the music vastly overwhelmed the singer to where you couldnt hear a single word. The mixing couldve been a lot better. But overall the venue is good. Decent bar pricing. Would recommend.
Very orderly lines and affordable prices. Security gave out water.
Decent venue. I would have liked it much better if they had put in a couple rows of chairs. I have a minor back problem that flares up and I had to scrounge for a chair to sit in. One thing I thought was great was the abundance of security and the excellent bar tender who served to be having a lot of fun.
A top notch venue for a concert. I took my son to see Passenger and we were blown away by not only the show but all that the venue had to offer. The security there kept everything in order and moving smoothly. Eron, the head of security, helped us with a personal situation and went above and beyond to get us taken care of.The cleanliness of the venue and the old school feel made the experience one remember.
