We visited Collier-Seminole State Park in July 2020. It is a real nice park. The park has a few historical sites on premises (see photos). There is a boat launch, kayak launch, trails, and dock for fishing and boating. The bathrooms are older but well maintained and clean. There are some quaint areas locally. There is beach access, but it is paid beach access and rather expensive at $2.50 an hour. Also, there is airboats rides in the area.

Great Campgrounds! Went tent camping at site #8 for Labor day weekend 2020. Had a great time despite some rain (but hey this is Florida so you kind of expect that). The campgrounds were clean, the bathrooms were cleaned daily so no issues there. There is a kayak (& boat) launch on the Blackwater River you can launch your own kayak from. There is a hiking trail nearby but that was closed while we were there. San Marco island is not far and worth the 20 minute drive. We rented jet skis from splitting waves and spent a day on San Marco exploring the islands and the Cape Romano Dome Houses, I would highly recommend!

Another fantastic state park camping experience in Florida. I was surprised by how many available campsites there were! Everything is well kept and clean and there is no shortage of things to do like hiking, fishing and nature viewing. There are also some historical sites to check out. The campground was very well kept with clean bathhouses. Some things were closed off due to Covid but still plenty to keep busy. The proximity to Marco Island cant be beat! We definitely made a few beach excursions during our stay. Bring bug spray and sunscreen for the trails in the park!

Love the peace and tranquility. A perfect place to be one with nature. They do offer some modern conveniences like a bath house and laundry services. Or you can bring your RV or hauler and plug in. Each camp sight has a bench, non-gas grill, electric, and water.

Nothing really going on here. The old walking dredge was cool but thats about it. One could go into town and find stuff to do but you could stay home and do that. Camp sites are too close together with no block between your site and the one thats only 10 feet from you. It is a clean park so thats a plus.

Is a nice good soccer park. Is well kept. We did camping, or did was a good size enough for a16 people tent had a ground grill, water and power. You have to be prepared this is in the everglades so expect tons of mosquitoes and Flys. It was extremely hot so we couldnt do the trails. A lot of wild life, we heard wild boars, saw eagles all kinds of insects and frogs. It was a great experience for our family.

We just spent a couple of days camping with our two kids in our travel trailer. We live in Naples, and we did not expect much from this park. Yet, we were pleasantly surprised! Here are a few tips:Wait until the bathhouse and tent-loop renovations are finished around mid-April before booking a site here.If you have a pop-up or tent, stick to the shady, more private sites in the tent-only loop.In the large campground loop, book the sites on the outer periphery (35-39 and 81-89) for a bit more privacy and reduced traffic.Bring bikes and/or scooters for the whole family.Do not miss the opportunity to go on a paddle among the mangroves. Bring your own kayak or rent one.Mosquitoes were pretty bad and we are not even in the summer yet, so load up on DEET!

This Florida State Park is 17 miles south of Naples. There is camping but you need reservations November through March. Expect lots of insects and downpours during the summer. Theres a $5 admission fee per car.The only concession of any kind in the park is the canoe and kayak rental station. There is a friendly and helpful fellow there who is probably lonely and likes to talk who will rent you kayaks and or canoes and give you information about not getting lost. So, I repeat again, no concessions. No little store no place to buy a Coca-Cola No place to get sunscreen or food. Come prepared! There are guided canoe tours which occur Friday Saturday and Sunday only. I believe they start at 10:30 in the morning. I have the impression that inexperienced people should not go out on their own kayaking on the river that runs through the mangrove swamp but your results may vary. There is a nature walk out into the mangroves which is somewhat interesting if you have never been among mangroves... We saw very few birds there but it was still and peaceful. There are other trails that we simply didnt have enough energy to go on.There is a very involved looking machine which is one of the actual dredges used to build the tamiami trail through the Everglades. When you see this machine which is a glory of mechanical engineering for its time, You were marvel at the energy and money and time it must have taken to dig through the Everglades and get even the beginning of what we have today a way to travel up from Miami to Tampa. We happen to run into a garrulous old fellow who was very familiar with the equipment and he answered all my questions and then some.So come to camp or come to see the Bay City walking dredge or come to take a guided canoe tour, but be prepared with everything you need.

Great park for kayaking from beginners to more advanced. Able to kayak to various campsites (permit needed to stay overnight). Had a nice boardwalk trail (a little less than one mile). The 6.5 mile trail is closed, you can still use the service road to hike - it is about 2 miles. Highly recommend for kayaking or canoeing. If you use a tent and dont go primitive, try to get campsite 1 - 19, they are more private.

I love state parks. This is a great camping spot but remember the bug spray. Lots of mosquitos especially as soon as the sun starts to set. We camped with a self contained RV camper so we kept the a/c on and windows closed. Call ahead to make sure there are available spots or better yet make an early reservation. State parks are very popular. I highly recommend them.

Beautifully located just south of Naples with quick access to the beaches on Marco Island. Beach parking is $8 and cars only, no RV parking on Marci Island. One of the less private state parks with no vegetation between sites but our site 47 was very roomy and level with crushed shell and grass pad, picnic table & fire ring. There are bike & canoe rentals. Most interesting was the swamp dredge and its history. We were there in January and there were few insects but we have also been there in November when its still hot and there were tons of biting insects. Bring a screen tent or plenty of feet. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the loud road noise, especially on weekends when there were a lot of very loud motorcycles going by.

If you like kayaking in wide open waters with strong currents and strong winds this is the place for you. After you paddle for 2 hours to get to a good spot youre too tired to go look at the good spot you just wanna go home because you know you have a long way to go. I would not recommend this to anybody.

We have visited many Florida State Parks and have enjoyed all of them, except Collier-Seminole. Its a shame because the park has a great location. Granted, the parks just reopened after COVID-19 closure but we were told that park personnel worked during the closure. We just dont see that here. The campsites are absolutely infested with ant hills and these are fierce ants! We were originally on site 79 but requested a move to 78 due to the ants. Mosquitoes are crazy but that is natural to this part of the state. The ants need to be addressed, however. There was quite a bit of standing water between sites which adds to the mosquito population. The canoe livery was closed and you couldnt even launch your own canoe. We decided to ride our bikes on the 3.5 mile bike trail but after 100 ft on the trail we turned back due to poor conditions. We tried walking the .9 mile boardwalk loop. Turned back due to mosquitoes (even spray didnt prevent their attacks). I have never written a negative review of a state campground....until now.

Don’t recommend canoeing here at all. I went with my boyfriend and we flipped because of a branch of the mangroves and there are gators here and they don’t tell you anything at all. Everything was done over the phone they gave me a code to get the gear and just told us to go get the canoe on our own and go. Not professional at all. I lost my brand new phone here and a fishing rod and fishing supplies as well and other personal valuables. They don’t warn you about your valuables nor do they tell you that in the past 2-3 years they have picked up about 50-60 people that have flipped their canoe. Scariest day of my life and I still haven’t been able to get my phone. They don’t do anything for u to even look for it and they didn’t even give us a refund. Horrible experience I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. They don’t even make u sign any papers or nothing everything was off of the phone. Police were involved as well.

Nice, interesting, pretty park. Mosquitos/biting bugs are unreal during bug season, right next to Everglades. I really enjoyed the park. It is close to Marco Island which has beautiful beaches, lots of shells and access for kayaking around the bay. The park has a kayak launch into the Mangrove canal which offers lots of bird watching. The sites at the park are varied. Some are very close to the next site and some have more space. Its location is the most positive attribute!! There is a trail through the Royal Palm Hammock which gives it a canopy to walk under and most of it has a boardwalk. We were next to the host site which was lucky for us. Bonney was an excellent resource for us and steered us toward the islands off Marco...which are easy to kayak to and spend time on the beach on the island and hunt for shells. We will be back for certain. We drove down to Everglade City which has many airboat ride opportunities. All in all...Collier Seminole and the history how it came to be is interesting.

As great as any Florida State Park. The camping area has nice amenities, including fire ring, electric and water hookups, and a central dump station. The sites are various sizes. If you have a bigger rig, make sure your reservation is made way in advance, as the bigger spots fill early, especially for winter camping. There is a really nice bicycle trail thats a 3.5 mile loop. The trail is generally flat and not super narrow, plus its covered in pine to make it a nice ride. Most of it has a shady tree canopy, and we even saw an alligator. Too bad we didnt get lucky enough to see one of the elusive Panthers.Youll also find some neat historical displays. The rangers are helpful and friendly, making this a really nice park to visit.

Nice area, clean restrooms but they don’t have full hookups, it’s missing the sewer connection so if you are pulling a small trailer it gets full with just 3 showers in one day, you have to hook up the truck drive to a dumping station and then try to back into the tight space again because spots are small and back in so if you are staying for more than 2 days, you have to keep dumping away from your assigned space.

Park is clean and well maintained. Bring your big spray and apply liberally! Those Swamp Skeeters laugh at dry-feeling, pretty-smelling sprays, you need lip-burning, synthetic fabric-eating maximum percentage DEET! Florida State Parks are awesome and this one has a wonderful variety of activities to keep you busy for days. The Blackwater River is an easy paddle through mangroves, no worries about getting lost and the tidal influence is minimal until you get close to the bay. The tent camping loop (1-19) is quiet and shady; the RV loop is just that, mainly a large open area packed with huge RVs. Id highly recommend the park as a hiking destination and a paddling destination. It is also a great place to stay and use as a base for trips in the Everglads, Big Cypress, and surrounding areas. Youre only about 10min away from a grocery store so if you need more ice or something like that its not a far drive.
