Wonderful experience in the garden! Crab cakes were delicious, salad was so fresh and dressed to perfection. Dessert was a symphony of almond, strawberries and cream. Service was impeccable!

The CIA at Copia is such a wonderful place to hold a wedding! The architecture of the building is modern and striking, making for many beautiful photo opportunities. The garden is absolutely stunning as well, giving a lot of variety for backdrops! As a wedding photographer, I couldnt ask for more in a venue! And, of course, the food is amazing. I loved that the guests could go to the museum when they were wanting to get away from the main event as well.

The Grove at CIA. It’s an outdoor dining surrounding by the garden terrace. Quick bite, simple ingredients yet so sumptuously tasty. Dining under the sun was quite an experience itself. Great service and I love the food here. You get to sample all of the herbs and veggies right at the source and onto your table. This reminds me so much of my trip in Italy. It’s hard to find restaurant that can serve food as tasty and freshly like this.

Was here for a conference, the chefs prepared quite a few dishes, overall the staff was phenomenal, organized. The gift shop is open for everyone and they frequently have discounts on certain items/groups of items. Check out the clearance section in the corner. The staff working it is super friendly and will guide you as much as possible about the items for sale. They have a coffee shop outside, a great fork sculpture made of forks, and you can see the garden area where they get many of their foods. Parking for the institute is technically across the street from the actual institute, otherwise the lot is shared with Oxbow Market.

Wish I could give this place 5 stars. Really enjoyed my lunch here. The place is airy and sunny during lunch time. The fried chicken sandwich with gochujang was yummy and so was my pomegranate and lemon mocktail. It took some time to be be seated even after a reservation. The food was was slow to arrive but we weren’t in a rush. The servers and host were really sweet.

:(We were really looking forward to our night out at the CIA.We ordered appetizers (two of the tasting options), and two entrees. We received wine very quickly. After that, the experience went downhill. No one came by our table for close to an hour! During this time, guests who arrived after us received their dishes. We tried to grab the attention of the wait staff, however, they were very good at not making eye contact. We noticed what looked like our entrees ready to go at the kitchen, they were sitting there for about 15 min....then they took the dishes away, to someplace. Shortly after that our entrees then showed up, BEFORE our appetizers, we informed the staff that we had in fact ordered appetizers. The (what looked like the) manager came by to apologize and to hope that it goes well going forward. After this mix up the appetizers showed up very quickly (which made us wonder why it was over an hour). Our server was nowhere to be seen and we had to flag down another server to order our 2nd bottle of wine.Ordered dessert.Paid in full.Lackluster attempt by staff to even recognize the errors in service. The food was amazing, the wait staff was the complete opposite. This was to be our big night out meal while on vacation, we wanted to enjoy the experience and the service we got made us leave very disappointed. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 full, so one would think that the service would not be the issue. The staff at a McDonalds (no offence to McDonalds) are more attentive than the service we received at the CIA Copia.

Review is strictly for the restaurant. Poor overall experience beginning with a bad seating experience. Wine list without food menus. Missed a side order that didnt arrive until the mains were finished. Very dirty wine glass. Coffee at dessert didnt arrive until the dessert was nearly finished. Peking duck lacked any hint of seasoning. Beans side dish is completely flat and bland. Lots to improve here. With so many options in the area, this shouldnt be on your radar.

This review is for the Chuck Williams Culinary Arts Museum. This museum was very clean and beautifully organized. I did not appreciate that some of the labels were harder to read because the text was blocked by some of the display items and they were sort of higher up so I had to stand on my tippy toes to read it all. There were some items that were on display that weren’t even labeled so I didn’t know what they were or what they were used for. The museum was empty so I figure I came in at the proper time to enjoy walking through the exhibit alone and was able to enjoy my visit in peace. The music they played wasn’t like the music you hear in other museums because a lot of the music was very modern but they kept it at a low volume so it wasn’t distracting. I would definitely like to come again to visit the store and maybe possibly eat at the restaurant here as well.

The time we were there, CIA was hosting an exhibition on the life of Julia Child. They shared some funny and interesting quotes from Julia child and her husband Paul. It also showcased their personal photos wherin both of them looked madly in love with each other and food as well. My wife is a big fan of Julia Child and she was really mesmerised looking at her quotes and photos. Some of them showed the funny spirit of Julia and how she made preparing food so interesting. CIA made our day...

I ordered a Ceasars salad. It came without anchovies even though it was stated in the menu. Had to complain, and they managed to get two tiny slices. The entire menu is overpriced and not worth the experience. Try the Food Market across the parking lot for much better options and culinary experiences!

CIA Copia in Napa is amazing! Beautiful setting. We arrived around 4pm hoping we could have a very late lunch. They were welcoming and said yes! The manager and staff were super nice and attentive. Thank you Andy for being nice and entertaining too! The cuisine was delicious. Plus their store is amazing. You can find every cookbook you can think of in the CAI Copia store. I cant wait to return and take a cooking class. Look at their schedule.

Food was 5 Stars! Credit card payment was all messed up and we havent been able to contact anyone on the phone to get it straightened out. We had 4 cards try to pay $75 per person, and one card got charged $236.41 while another got charged only $86.41 for two people instead of $150. Im using this review to send out a SOS to somebody there. Again, though, we had been eating at top restaurants around wine country, and the food here was the best!Update - problems fixed quickly, service 5 star. New rating should be 5 stars.

We had the mussels and they came highly recommended and were amazing. The bread in the middle my wife and I fought over the last bite. My wife had the papredelle pasta and with the cream sauce said it was the best shes ever had. I had the chicken and it had a lot of great flavors and very tender.

Lunch in a box was never so tasty, creative and served with such a smile. Our take away for picnic in park was a great surprise. The “ other Napa” named establishments were so crowded. We turned into the parking lot to turn around, and there was that delicious sign, a small box office type order station outside of the building. Lamb pies and a delightfully seasoned green salad with San Pellegrino. Sun, sat by the river, with tasty food and the rush of the day seemed far away. What a great surprise! We are excited to try dinner...inside of course

This is a fantastic place to come for dinner if visiting Napa. The restaurant has a very unique serving style, where the chefs bring the dishes around to the tables, tell you about it, and if you choose to eat it, they mark your menu, otherwise they take it to other tables. This allows you to see all the dishes, hear about what the creation is, and get to experience much of the menu without having to worry about coursing things out. Its a bit reminiscent of a Dim Sum serving style, but with elaborate dishes created by the CIA students. Beyond that, the cocktail menu has quite the selection and the wine menu has an extensive list of local wines to enjoy with your meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for creative and delicious dishes in a unique serving style, with an upscale feel.

My wife and I had a great time at CIA in 2008 so we took our children to CIA for lunch. Were we disappointed... The children looked at both of us asking why we brought them there... taste of food was questionable and the plating was not to the level that we remembered. Perhaps CIA has downgraded itself.... It may have been better to have lunch right across the parking lot.
