First visit:Seats have no leg room...my knees were against the seat in front of me....and I’m only 5’8”.Second visit;Went to see “Once upon a time in Hollywood‘....projection was faulty during ads, half the screen was blue and garbled and continued until 5 minutes into the movie. Finally, it was shut down.Staff tried to reboot for a period of twenty minutes or so, then finally announced to the audience (somewhat flippantly) that it couldn’t be fixed and everyone would be refunded. It was a sold out show. One person was handling the refunds. It took almost 35 minutes to get mine. Vouchers were offered but at the height of summer, most of the people were vacationing and opted for refunds...and left with a bad taste.Third visit...saw John Wick 3 in the Harbor View room...it was a matinee so the sun was still out. Curtains didn’t come down until 15 minutes into the movie, and then only partially; two windows were still unshaded for another 10 minutes before they went down.Fourth visit....also Harbor View Room...”Rambo”...volume was way too loud...some in the audience left to report it...but it was never resolved.Candidly, I cut them some slack....given their mission and reliance on public support. It had the feel of being run like a volunteer organization looking to a greater good...growing performing arts on the island and I didn’t mind paying higher ticket prices because of this.Fifth, and final visit:Went online to purchase two adult tickets...$14 each with a $2 ticketing surcharge as is customary with online ticket purchases. Since I live within walking distance, I went to the theatre directly...two tickets $28...when the price was $32, I inquired. I was told it was the $2 per ticket ticketing fee....when I pushed back on it, I was told it was a mandatory ticketing agency fee and could not be removed. Apparently I had been paying this fee all along and never noticed. When I returned home, I called the Dreamland and asked to speak to management ....the only person I could get to appeared to be a lower level person ( I would hope not indicative of management). My point was that if $2 service fee is mandatory then just show the ticket price as $16....it disrespects the customer and is deceptive, not the norm...to do otherwise appears sketchy and tarnishes the branding and image of community support that the Dreamland strives for.His response was scripted, cavalier, smug and borderline arrogant. It’s not about the $2.They can’t have it both ways...rely on the largesse of the community from which it derives its support, and then try to arbitrage that same community.Shame on me for never checking my ticket stubs before....shame on the Dreamland for disrespecting the customer. My only lament is that Stardust is no longer in business.
Nantucket is a tough place to build a business on, and its nice that theres something for the locals to love- especially with community nights. A clean facility with helpful staff.
Love Dreamland for variety of Times( I usually do afternoon) and variety of venues (like the Harbor room) best. Usually can see Oscar winners without standing in line. Its 10 of 10
Very pretty little theater. Feels like youre transported in time. They have interesting events.
Nice small theater. The A/C was broken when we came, but they gave us free water and drinks. Luckily, it was a cool, rainy day so it wasnt too hot anyways.
Wonderful cultural center and theater both for live performances and movies.
Other than some crowd control help at the front door at busy events, the Dreamland continues to amaze. Beyond blockbusters, the independents, film fests and now an increase in contemporary musicians (live and not just classical!) makes the property the premier entertainment destination on island. Kudos to all!
You pay for crazy expensive tickets only to end up sitting in lawn chairs on a wood floor in front of an incredibly modestly sized projector screen. Its just not that good
I think they have good quality sound and screens, they have improved their seats and I appreciate that very much! I think it is a clean environment and they have very good staff.
The seats are folding chairs and very uncomfortable. The movie screen was quite small. The room was clearly a conference room. Ps what nba games are you going to?
Though the senior ticket price is posted as $11, the person at the entrance charged me $13, insisting that I had to pay an additional process fee of two dollars. Huh? Shouldnt it be posted? Imo, the practice of charging a processing fee is nothing but grasping.
An awesome movie theater and its great that its downtown so its in the center of Nantucket its just amazing
The renovation of this old theater is fantastic. It is still clean and well kept. Unfortunately it is the only movie theater on the island now that the Starlight has closed.
It was a quaint place ...not too large
Has public restrooms. Has more than just movies for shows. Nice place but bloody expensive !!!
LOVE the Dreamland. Very generous to students and senior citizens.
I had a wonderful time. Seats were comfortable but snacks were a little costly.
Finally saw bohemian rhapsody here!!! Nice theatre, great popcorn!
Quiet, clean and friendly people there.
Intimate feeling with a local flavor
Very nice show
Best theatre. Great first run shows.
Best cheese enchiladas on the island.
Great movie theater!
Great place i dont really go there much but gonna start
Only 1 actual theater that has a smaller screen than normal. The other theaters are just 15 by 20 rooms with folding chairs and a screen that looks smaller than our tv. TOTAL SCAM.
Wonderful theater. Always a good crowd. Great overall experience.
Seats very uncomfortable cup.holders definitely in wrong place
Love this theater...great movies and lots of great things for the kids too
