It was just the right size for our 2yr olds first trip to an Edventure. The staff was so friendly.
Its kinda small but was perfect entertainment for my son for a couple of hours. He really had a great time here.
So we live in the area and this is a really great place to take my kids! Although a little small, they have a lot of amenities for my three little ones! Unfortunately, my newborn will have to wait before I would let him loose in there haha ;D They have a really great volunteer staff and some pretty cool and educational stuff for kids.
Good for kids but there is not a great deal of space. They seem to be heading in the right direction. I look forward to seeing them expand.
It is pretty small but we ended up spending like 3 hours there. My kid just kept bouncing between all the displays. We may have stayed longer but they were closing and we had to take the kid out kicking and screaming, lol!
While the place is very small it still keeps my 2 year old daughter and 1 year old son entertained for about an hour almost every Saturday after dance class. It is well worth the annual membership if you come to market common often. The only issue I have is I wish they didn’t have toys for sale or would put them in a different room.
Its on the small size but there are enough hands on activities to keep kids busy for a couple hours. Best part, I was allowed to bring my coffee inside
My 8 year old daughter LOVED this place! Its a small space, so not stressful at all for parents keeping track of little ones. The activities are all great for autonomy for the kiddos too. Theres a locals discount we took advantage of which made it $6 for each of us. We will definitely be back!
Went with my almost 3 year old. We all loved it. It was the perfect size for us... not to big or too small. He loved everything and the price was fair. We left for lunch and came back for another hour or so.
Its a cool place to bring the kids thats indoors but its rather on the small side with only a few activities for the kids. Everything is centered around airplanes & space, there was also a cool flight simulator. They also have a separate place for babies & small toddlers. There is also a dress up area & stage for the kids.
This place is much better than the old location... which smelled of sewer and was literally falling apart. It is small and opening weekend was very busy, but now that it is normal crowds, the kids are having fun and really able to play in the exhibits. I heard they are still working on improvements and new ideas for play areas. MUCH better improvement that the last location and the staff is really friendly.
The staff are extremely friendly but it is quite small as its located within one 25x40 foot room. A child will lose interest rather quickly as there is not much to do. 4 star rating is for the staff and cleanliness. I hope they move to a larger venue soon.
One room! Only one room! And they charge adults. It’s not worth the time and the effort. Definitely not worth the money. Plenty of other attractions in Myrtle Beach that rip you off less.
Exhibits are nice but for the price, the entire exhibit is in one small room. As expecting more. Able to spend maybe an hour there.
This is a place to Explore bring Adventures to Our Children and to the Adults that are with these little Ones. Teach Positive Experiences !!! In todays world we need to go where we can be children and Focus on learning letting go and being a safe place.... No matter how BIG or small. Dr. Seuss had a GREAT mind. He was always searching to teach US. Lets make this an AWESOME PLACE. Please support Our Community Not limit it. WE ARE THE PEOPLE... make it FUN.......
Weve been waiting for Childrens Museum of SC to re-open in their new location. We were really excited to bring the grandkids back because they loved it so much the first time. What a disappointment. Apparently, from what another customer told me, this is a temporary location in Market Common. We paid the full price for about a half hour of activity because that was all they had. If this is a temporary location and one small room was all they had to offer, then the price should have been cut as well. Honestly, if Id known that this was temporary and it was just the one small room of scattered play things, I never would have paid that ridiculous amount. They made such a big deal about the grand re-opening from their location on Oak Street and we were extremely disappointed. I should have asked for a refund. They are located in a former clothing store. That should tell you how small it was. Dont go until they open their real location. Its truly a waste of time and money. The kids had more fun at Savannahs playground right down the street and that was free.
Not fit for kids older than Id say 10. Very small but good for a Rainey day if you have very young kids. Staff was very friendly. My daughter had an accident any they were super nice about everything.
As others have mentioned, its fairly small unit and with limited activities. Our 3 year old and 1 year old were entertained for about an hour
My two sons enjoy going to this museum. But it is realitively small compared to other childrens museum. Expect your kids to be done with the entire museum in less than an hour.
Very good choice, good service, staff are great, good food, huge portion, good bar
Im writing this because of the previous review. I remember the old location. I didnt smell like a sewer, thats unfair, it clearly had leaking problems but I feel more could have been done to fix it. It was in a good location too, not all the way out here. Theres no parking at the new place on weekends and its such a small space. The old space was 3 times the size at least. The Dino Dig was my nephews favorite and the Pirate Ship my niece, neither of them are at the new location. I feel like we where let down, the old one needed fixing up but it wasnt falling down as far I could tell. Even if it was and they need to move, the new space is for different aged children than before. Im disappointed we lost the old space. Im happy theres something for the little kids but saying this is better than the old museum left me feeling upset. This is a play room, not a museum. That being said when I stopped in and asked about the new space, the lady at the desk was just as friendly as at the old museum. But this is sadly to small and young for my niece and nephew to enjoy. I hope they expand it or the city builds that new one with the library so children of all ages have a museum to enjoy again.
Amazing, educational place for kids! We will be repeat customers for sure.
Great time to spend with your lil one. Small musuem but your child will love it.
We visited on opening day. It was a bit noisy and crowded. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. My 3 and 6 year old really enjoyed the flight simulator, climbing on the space shuttle, and pushing yarn balls and scarfs through the air tubes. We love Edventure and will visit again next time we are at the Beach.
All the kids I know that have been there loved it.
If i could give 0 stars i would. Well $8 to play in what exactly? It does NOT have a 60s style house. There is one little teeny tiny rocket ship for kids to climb in. The interactive exhibits were clogged. The workers did not do anything to help. They were busy talking and bsing on the computer. The only good thing about this place is the ac was amazing. Never coming again
Great place for kids, hopefully it expands in size
Small space but great place to kill an hour and cool down after visiting Savannahs playground
It’s one single room. Mainly for babies. They charge for adults and it’s nonsense. Family of 4 two adults and two children ages 5 and 10. We were done in less then 10 min. Seriously disappointed with the cost vS what it actually is.
Tiny, only one exhibit-space themed. All in one room that was transformed from a previous clothing store. Very disappointing. The old children’s museum on oak street was sadly better. :( does not even compare to other children’s museums.
Cute little place to spend and hour or two with your children! Really friendly and understanding staff.
Even though the place is wonderful for kids, it is entirely to small and not enough activities to keep a child interested. I would think for eight dollars each (to include 2yr olds and above) we would get at little more than just one room to play in.
Very disappointed in size of building. I was very excited to take my children and we toured the one room building and walked out. Very very small and not what I was expecting. Glad we went to look before buying a membership. The children museum was much better.
Its pretty neat for a couple of hours of entertainment for young kids, but dont expect to make a day of it.
Save your $ and take your kids to one of the parks across the street. One room and literally 3-4 exhibits. Done in 10 minutes. Don’t be fooled like we were thinking there has to be more for the price and/or an upstairs.
Its a smaller version of the other Edventure facilities but still packs alot of fun NASA related play areas. Also has a play house and toddler approved area.
This location is surprisingly small. There are very few interactive playscapes features, which include a reading nook featuring local library books and a construction paper and glue stick station.Compared to the previous children’s museum that this company bought out, there no value to your dollar. Each family member, child and parent alike, must pay full price. There is no local discount to aid rationalizing parents having to pay to watch their child play across the small room. To their benefit, the staff are kind and make a point to walk the space, checking for issues and ensuring the equipment worked. You are better off going to the Windmill Playhouse for a fraction of the cost.
Kids will like it...small room...wont keep them busy long...
Love this place, is a great place to take kids and let them run and explore. This is a big upgrade from their old location. Great parking locations as well since there is a parking garage on back side of complex. Great local spot. Not overcrowded like the reviews of wonderworks. Also all the items do work. Support the local Childrens Museum and not some big tourist attraction. Alos this past saturday they just added some 750 sqft of more play space. Can not wait to come back next year for vacation and explore the new addition.
The new exhibit is awesome and perfect for younger kids! It is space-themed with lots of interesting learning areas and even an inflatable planetarium!
I feel like most of these reviews are being a bit harsh. The original building was beyond repair with water damage and the city of MB wouldn’t assist with finding a building equal in size. This was the location available. Yes, it is substantially smaller, therefore leading to less exhibits. Someone posted wanting Edventure to rent out the second floor. That would be very hard seeing as those are apartments and people live there. Let’s be honest, we all want the same thing from a place like this... take our kids, wear out some of their energy, let them be kids and make messes, and let someone else clean it up. It’s ok to admit that. Maybe they’ll lower the admission price, because I do agree that it’s a little steep for a smaller place. But that’s no reason to trash the place. The staff is always friendly and willing to help in any way they can. And that’s very important to me. I’ll continue to visit and take my kids because I can sit back and let them have fun and then take them home after. For those that are just super mad, my suggestion is stay home and have fun with your kids there.
Clean, fun, but small and not great for kids who are mobile but unable to do independently. The staff was great!
Excellent place for children of all ages.
The place is very small and there is not much to do. I prefer the old location.
All in one room. they wont stay open long! Dont waste your money.
Did not get impressed, nothing special, too many people in a small room, too loud. We walked in, took a tour and walked out. This place doesnt look anything like museum or childrens activity place. Who ever came up with this has no taste or vision. Its not even worth half of what they charge to get in.
Really small. Approximately 12 interactive stations about 1,500 square feet. Meh.
Nice place and helpful staff
I want to do a Disney World to DisneyLand experance but....I cant even do that! I have taken my son to the EdVenture in Columbia several times and we spent the whole day there! I really wish I read the reviews on this place before driving the 2 hrs to get to a place that had maybe 30 min of keeping the kids entertained! This place is super tiny! Its one room that about the size of a small clothing store!! Super dissappointed! This place is really not worth going to! Even if I lived in Myrtle Beach I would not take my child here!! Dont even have images to share! I would not recommend this place.
We paid $40 for our family to go here. It was a joke. It is one large room with a few exhibits and play areas. The bathrooms were dirty. There was a weird back room that we were invited into under the guise of seeing the “planetarium.” It was an inflatable planetarium that began to deflate as soon as it was unzipped. We were told to “follow closely so it doesn’t deflate all the way.” We chose not to see the “planetarium.”The staff were however, very friendly and helpful. The large room was mostly kept tidy and there seemed to me a lot of staff ready and willing to help at a moment’s notice. The only saving grace for our day was that Edventure was running a special on memberships and we were able to purchase a family membership for $99 and our $40 admission counted toward that. We will just plan a few trips to Columbia to the Edventure mothership to get our money’s worth.Edventure, please rent the upstairs unit and make this thing two floors to expand your exhibit space. Alternatively, lower the price of admission so it’s not a total ripoff. Thanks!
Very limited, space theme. If you have boys its perfect for them!!!
Highly disapointing and not at all worth anyones time or money. This is an incredible down grade from the previous childrens Museum that we frequented with all age children with enthusiasm. I will never visit again or encourage anyone to go. Such a horrible down grade. Venture over to Savannahs playground for more excitement than this place and its free. You even have to pay as a parent to go with your child, its ridiculous.
Small but loads of fun. Astronautical theme.
Pretty expensive for one room of stuff. May want to decrease your rates a bit.
Don’t waste your money.
Small but nice
Expensive n make u pay to just stand there!! My kid is 2yrs old. Its supposed to be 2 n under free still got charged!!
This place is overpriced and a waste of time. My 4 and 6 yr old were totally disappointed.
It is geared towards space, the moon landings, and a flight simulator. There is a small space for crafts and for little kids. Very hard to spend a lot of time there
Very small, crowded, extremely loud, not much activities. Overpriced.
What they have is very updated from previous location, but it is very small and pricey for the size.
Its a must see if,you have kids
Overpriced, small place.
This place is not open
