Really good public course for the price. Can be challenging if you want it to be, but it’s still fun and manageable for the average golfer. The fairways, rough, and tee boxes were all in great shape. The greens were good, but we played in the afternoon so they were pretty beat up with spike marks by the time we teed off. If people would fix their ball marks and not drag their feet on the greens they could be great instead of just good.I gave 4 stars because of the pace of play (like many others have mentioned). We were a foursome and were still having to wait 5-10 minutes on every single shot because of the group in front of us was so slow. They were 3-4 holes behind the group in front of them and holding everyone up. Having a Marshall ride around to monitor groups like that would be an easy solution, but the course doesn’t have one. Just be mindful you’ll be looking at a 5 hour round if you play here.

Pretty good golf course in Murfreesboro. Challenging on some holes, easy on others. Could be kept in better shape. All things considered an enjoyable course.

A good layout but almost NO yardage markers on the fairways or cart paths. Come on its pretty easy to mark them!! Greens really quick.

This course seems to continue to go downhill. Played is many times but today the fairways were so bad. Globs of grass clippings everywhere. Poor drainage and a few beat up greens.

This golf course books way to many people. You can’t even enjoy your golf because you have to wait 10 minutes for each hole. It’s ridiculous, I ask for my money back and they give me a rain check to come back and wait another 10 minutes to play each hole. There’s more waiting then golfing.

Course is in great shape except for one green. And theyre building a new green to replace it now. A nice mix of length of holes, especially the part 3s. Nice layout and very cordial staff.

Recently played this over-priced, links style course for the first time and was sorely disappointed. You HAD to wear a mask to enter the clubhouse (first course to require this so far this yr.) with one person inside to take your $$$. OK..went back to the car, got my mask and ponied up the $38 plus change.Went out to practice putt...no holes and over-seeded, poorly conditioned practice green.A lot of the greens didnt get much better...especially that odd-shaped, poorly designed 6th green (theyre replacing it by the way).Fairways were in good shape and the bunkers were OK but for the price...I wont be coming back.

You might as well go north of Nashville to Nashville Shores water park. Bring your floaties to this place cause it’s soaked year round. They have a contract with the factory next door that allows the factory to drain water into the course. Cart path only and make sure to wear your mud shoes.

Drove 50 miles to golf here and were turned away by the pro shop attendant because our 3 year old granddaughter was going to be riding along with us. He informed us rather rudely that no one under 8 was allowed on the course. We were of course a little disappointed after driving 50 miles one way but we were respectful and said Oh ok I guess we wont be golfing then and turned to walk away when then he said I cant bend the rules. My rant isnt because of the rule, after all, rules are rules, but the whole manner in which the attendant conducted himself. It might be handy to put that kind of information on their website also.

Course is good but the staff is rude and you can tell they don’t want to be there. They won’t let you hit driver on the grass when it’s Matt’s only. That’s so stupid. It’s way over price. The only good things is the hot concessions lady, the course and the free water they give you.

I felt like I was not welcome at this course. I wanted to just use the driving range but found out it was closed on Thursdays. I asked about playing 9. I arrived at 5:20 and the staff said they close at sunset around 7:30 and they back the last tee time 2:30 hrs from closing. I thank the staff and went to the putting green. When I walked up to the club house, a foursome was going to 1st tee, a two some was paying for 9 holes in front of me and heading to 10th hole, while on the putting green a single got a cart and headed to the tee box. I guess we will see if I can play if I show at 4

Very very tight. Ob on one side and houses on the other. Great layout though. I walk and this is not for walkers unless you do it with friends like I do. You will have to catch a ride between 4 and 5, and between 7 and 8. Doesnt drain great after a big rain but still a fun course. If you play around 9 am you will have to deal with a train right next to hole 1, 2 and 3 making all sorts of racket. On the weekend it is very busy but the staff is very frendly and they have carts with food and drinks making their way around the course. I prefer Old Fort but when I cant get a tee time there Indian Hills is a good second option. I recommend it but just understand the drawbacks.

So I have been meaning to write this review for a while now because of the horrible experience I had at Indian hills. When I first started playing golf almost 20 years ago my parents signed me up for some type of golf school at this club. Which was for beginners. I played on my middle school and high school golf teams. And played this course maybe a hundred times. So I hadnt been there in a couple years and I decided to take my pregnant wife to ride along with me. Judging from the parking lot it looked like a slow day. The man in the pro shop was immediately rude from the moment I said hello. I asked for 18 and a cart and he intended on me riding with a threesome and I kindly asked if it was possible to wait and get my own cart. He basically yelled at me and said do you want to play or not. I mean he was so impatient and rude he didnt give me a chance to say hey this 7 months pregnant woman beside me is my wife and she wants to ride along. I also called in advance and asked if It was possible to walk on and who ever answered told me I didnt need a tee time. I know I usually dont dress and look like a skilled golfer and I am sure he was judging me based on appearance. So after I explained to him the situation he was still rude. Its like if he knew who my extended family and friends were then he would have treated me completely different. But anyway we got a cart and tee off. I guess they were finishing up a tournament or something because we caught up to the traffic and after almost 3 hours we finished 9. And I realized that we would only get a couple more holes in before dark. I go in the club house and ask him for a raincheck. It isnt raining out there he says and I explain we couldnt finish. He basically told me sucks for you. So I finally had enough of his rude mouth and addressed it. He calls me a punk and tells me to leave. I served in the military and I have good manners unlike most of society. And Im a punk? Just because your in a bad mood. My wife couldnt believe it. She played college softball and wanted to learn golf until she had this experience with a broke snob at Indian hills.

Why does your course not have 150 yard marker? Why does your course not have a pin location system either the popular red, white and blue or some sort of quadrant system? It is impossible to get an estimate of yardage without a range finder. Also, greens are very thin and extremely hard. A lob wedge takes at least ten yards to stop. Maybe you guys should water the greens?

This is a fun course to play. I think at times, they have it a little over priced for the condition the course has been in, but still a fun course to play. The staff is usually pretty friendly as well. Ive played this course at least 20+ times and it always seems to play at a nice speed too. No 5 hr rounds or anything crazy like that.

I will preface this review by saying I used to love to play this course. I made my only hole-in-one here. Unfortunately, it has been mismanaged into the ground. Played on a Saturday and it was packed. This course has an eight minute gap between teetimes on the weekend. That would be fine if everyone played a round of golf in two hours and 24 minutes, but no one Ive ever met does that. We were pushing 5 1/2 hours for our round of golf and spent the majority of that time waiting for the log-jammed groups in front of us. The temperature was in the 90s and, as should not come as a surprise if youve played here, the water coolers were empty. A member of my foursome called the front desk to alert them. The employee seem shocked. It wouldve been a little better had there been a beverage cart, but maybe thats too much to ask for a packed golf course on a Saturday afternoon were the average cost for 18 holes is close to $50. At the turn we were hungry and decided to stop in the clubhouse for a hotdog. There were no hotdogs. Let me repeat, there were no hotdogs in a golf course clubhouse. The kind lady offered to nuke one in the microwave, but I declined. She seemed perturbed that I did not want her microwave hotdog, or her nerves were shot from dealing with unhappy patrons all day. I vehemently hope that a person or group of people that know how to manage a golf course buys this one, which I cant imagine will stay afloat much longer.Update: the general manager called me and we spoke for some time. I do believe he legitimately wants to make IHGC as good as it can be. Ive given this track another star because I respect him for doing this.
