Overall the golf course was in great shape and was beautiful.Unfortunately the starter/ranger named Lou decided to be an absolute train wreck and ruined our experience at this golf course. (Our tee time was 7/5/2020 at 3:00 PM)Here is a quick break down on his incompetence:1. Our 4-some arrives to the tee box at 2:57 ready to go for our 3:00 tee time. Lou decides to be smart with us and say Oh! You are the late 3:00 tee time group. Great start...2. Our group has some newer golfers and we were about 10 mins into hole 1 and are putting/chipping to finish up and we are beading in sweat in the summer heat and turn around and see Lou riding his golf cart in hot pursuit to us. To our dismay he states, you are playing too slow to not 1 but 2 of us during our swing!Overall, we finished 2 minutes behind pace and the group behind us never caught up to us and Lou needs to learn customer service. We were all disgusted in his actions and something that did not make our group feel welcomed to a nice golf course.Safe to say we wont be back any time soon thanks to you Lou!
This is a great course to play. Its fair but very challenging. The greens are super fast.the pin placement was great. I will play it again.
Fun to play and in great shape. Greens not to receptive but hey...its golf!
Well maintained course with a challenging layout.

Always enjoy this venue. Great course and friendly staff make for an enjoyable round.
On Thursday June 11, 2019 my friend and I decided to play a round at Steeplechase golf club in Mundelein IL. This is a Municipal course run by the Park District of Mundelein. The course is overseen by Bill Brolley (PGA Professional). The overall head of the golf program in Mundelein is Margret Resnick, the Executive Director of the park district. This course is on the top side of the price point for a municipal course in Illinois and rightfully so. It is beautiful, manicured and kept with care. But it is still a municipal course. Many municipal courses in IL. can be played for under $25 Steeplechase is firmly in the $70 range. Note: My friend and I got a slightly better rate through golf now.My friend and I arrived in time for our 12:48 Tee Time. We teed off without problems. We played the front nine and on the ninth fairway we ordered our lunch through the GPS screen. We got to the clubhouse and parked in front. There are two steep flights of stairs to get to the clubhouse if you park in back.We did this because I am Handicapped with a terminal disease and have very poor mobility.I went into the clubhouse to explain why I was parking there for lunch when I was informed by him that we had to be on the tenth tee in five minutes or we would not be able to finish our round. I told My friend who was grabbing the food (already in a togo container) that we couldn’t sit and eat because the course was to busy overbooking to allow for a $30 meal, they were selling to us, to be eaten in the club house.I asked the bartender if we could sit to eat and he literally laughed at us. So, I canceled the meal and he gave us a pretty ugly glare.I asked for the manager and found that it was the same person who told me I only had five minutes at the turn.If you have ever golfed and rode in a cart you know that it is impossible to eat while bouncing around the course. For me it would have been considerably harder because of pain due to my Handicap.I called Margret Resnick to discuss this and she was polite and professional. She told me she disagreed with my view that a person who buys a meal, sold by a restaurant, should then be able to enjoy that meal without consequence. At this point I decided that I was not going to get her to admit to any mistreatment, so I politely terminated the call. There is a lesson here, the people of Mundelein own that course. It is profitable and well attended. Squeezing tee times so tight that there is no wiggle room is bad business. People like me must eat regularly, you sell food, you have a fully stalked restaurant complete with bar and tables. Yet you tell people they can’t sit and eat. RidiculousFor $70 I cannot recommend this course and in fact would have trouble recommending it at $25
One of my favorite golf courses in Lake County. Challenging, especially #18, and always in great shape.
Great course. The greens are some of the fastest I have ever played. Staff is friendly and course was in wonderful shape. Pace of play was good and all around a great round of golf.
Very nice course. Could use a few restrooms.
Beautiful course and always a good time.
Very nice EXCEPT for the ranger. I used to work at a golf course for 8 years and was a ranger for years. 4 of us paid full price for Sunday morning golf. Thats almost $300. Yes 1of my guys cant play BUT we kept up. LESS than 1/2 a hole behind AND played in 4.5 hours. We did NOT enjoy our round. I will never return. To many other courses out there. Some even have 10 minute tee times to avoid JAMMING the course. 1extra 4some per hour to make more money and you guys pushed us to make a 2some or 3some happy? It only takes a smart ranger to nicely say ok guys, I talked to them but there are 4somes ahead of them too. There is nowhere they can go. They cant go faster. It just seems slow for you guys because theres only 2 of you.
Finally played here and it did not disappoint. Hillier terrain and green areas than was expected, great mix of holes. Need some local knowledge on a couple of tee shots or youll find trouble. Good challenge
One of the worst Sunday golf outings ever. Was in a foursome behind a foursome and a foursome behind us. The ranger ordered us to tee off on the back nine par 3 while they were still in the green!! This guy was a complete disgrace to what is a great course. Never ever will go back there. Played on Sunday 7/29/18.
Delayed one hour by frost warning. As a result, the round was pretty slow. Fairways were in decent shape. Greens were recently aerated. Wish that GolfNow or the course stated that ahead of time as they were pretty bumpy.
Course in excellent condition. Challenging greens. Forgiving fairways. No practice range.
No marshall 30 minutes to play a hole on average
It was a pleasure golfing here. The fairways were challenging but at times very forgiving. I will definitely play here again.
I really liked this Golf course. Many of the holes had very cool layouts.
Gorgeous golf course not only did and a bit challenging but great views and birds. Love that course.
Best course ever. And great staff.
Great shape, challenging, yet forgiving. Water not as bad as first feared. Several greens had some challenging breaks, others fairly flat. Staff was very friendly as well.
This is a great golf course with friendly, courteous people to assist you in having a nice time.
Very nice course
Well groomed and manicured. Fast greens and good pace of play.
