As long as they dont have the range closed for shot gunners or other special events and if the barney fife range police guy isnt hovering this is a great place to shoot for a good price.

I love the MTCC. Ive been a member out there for many years and have really enjoyed bringing guests and introducing people to the shooting sports over the years. Today, however, another member threatened to Kick my ass. When we first arrived, though we werent aware, people were adjusting targets down range. I know full well that nobody should touch a gun while people are down range, and since you could tell by how many cars were in the parking lot that the range was busier than usual, I reviewed the range rules in the car before we got out. We were carrying in our weapons, and one of my guests, who had never been shooting before, was trying to open the chamber on the .380 shed brought. In hindsight, I should have checked this before we got out of the car, but as I took the gun from her to set it aside--as per the rules--this old guy chastised me for handling a gun while he was down range--in fact, he said, Maybe I should just kick your ass. Now, I was with two women--one of them my wife--and I was always taught to use respectful language in front of women, and besides, he was an old guy and even though he was acting like an ass, I ignored him. Later, he also criticized me for placing my targets too high on the board, because my .22 was going to chew up the top rail.Anyone who knows me, knows I always approach shooting carefully and adhere to the range rules religiously. I wouldnt mind anyone talking to me about the range rules, etc., but the tone he used was so disrespectful, I guarantee that my guest will have no interest in shooting again, let alone joining the MTCC. The MTCC has been a wonderful place, and Ive been going out there since 1970, but every now and then youll encounter someone like that old man who behaves like he built the place and owns it and who assumes--incorrectly--that hes the only person interested in safety.
