Recently moved to Mountain View and Showplace Icon is my new favorite theater!Leave it to Mountain View to make you feel classy just for going to the theater. I like ICON a lot cause it’s really accessible on El Camino, lots of parking available, and clearly they’ve taken a lot of time and money to jazz it up on the inside - it feels pretty much brand new and I’ve never been there when it’s been crowded. They have a really quick automated check-in process with very eager attendants to help you out if you get confused. Everyone there is very hospitable. The upstairs is where it REALLY gets classy - felt like I needed a tie. Really good food, private 21+ bar area, lots of drinks, tables for hanging out, and priority theatre seating on the second level. The theaters themselves are all pre-reserved, recliners, VERY spacious, and with 3 tiered seat warmers. A luxury experience. I will say that most of the theaters here have limited seating given the size of the chairs, but honestly it makes for a more intimate movie watching experience and who doesn’t want that.Come here for the full experience!

Ok. This theatre is crazy. Who in their right mind ever thought to put seat heaters on theatre seats??They are amazing!!The only problem is, now I can’t stay awake! And they get a little too hot. Thanks for the nice nap... and the occasional movie I get to see in between dozing off.Seriously though, it’s a great theatre.

Super friendly, super helpful, with my disabled friend in a wheelchair with a service dog. Comfortable seats, lots of space for wheelchair manuevuering. The elevator and bathrooms were easily accessible for a wheelchair. It was a great experience. My friend and I will definitely be coming back to see more movies. Very nice lounge and restaurant. Easy access from the disabled parking spaces in the parking garage. Door opening buttons/bars are located with easy access for someone in a wheelchair.

This is my theater of choice. The VIP area features a surprisingly good restaurant and full bar. Its in mountain view so the food is pricey, but thats to be expected. Theres a large free parking lot attached to the building. If you buy the VIP level tickets, youre able to take the food and drinks into the theater with you. And now through the Atom app, you can join their Extra Plus program which is amazing. For $9.99 a month you get 20% off concessions and restaurant food. Tickets only cost $9.99 including VIP tickets, and they waive all processing fees. That means a ticket that would normally cost $16 to $22 is only $10. The really crazy part is that they give you one free ticket a month, these tickets roll over if you dont use them, and never expire. Because of the free ticket, the program is essentially free. Its crazy! I dont understand how they can afford to offer sick a deal, but I like it.

It was such a great experience! As folks have mentioned, the reclining chairs were spacious and fabulous. Be sure to get a VIP ticket (actually almost the same price as the non-VIP ones) - the view on the balcony was truly better, and the table was handy as well. Will be back!

This is a new theatre and there isnt too much traffic. We walked right up to one of the kiosks to buy our tickets. Customer service was excellent! The food options are better than standard movie theatres (e.g., avocado salad and chipotle chicken tacos) but youll see the same markup. You can order food from the theatre or from the kiosk. Ordering from the kiosk means youll have to pick up your order in the VIP area and bring it to your seats. The problem is there doesnt seem to be any trays readily available. One associate offered to help us carry the food to our seats. Another issue is that while you can eat your food in the theatre, not all theatres have tables. If these theatres are packed you wont have space for multiple baskets of food.It was also hard to determine which seat is which. We recommend starting from the end. Every person who sat down after us had the same issue and there was a bit of seat swapping.

Another option for going to the movies aside from Century Theatres on Shoreline. It is located in the San Antonio Shopping Center on California. The theater is new, so facilities are very clean. Would highly recommend. They utilize using tablets when buying tickets, getting your tickets youve bought online and when buying food. They offer free refills on popcorn. They have two lines - VIP and Premium. The VIP area is the one where you can have alcohol and I believe they bring your food over to you and is on the second floor once youve entered the theatre and have gone up the initial escalators. We were in the Premium area when we went to go for a special early screening of the Lego 2 movie. The seats are wide and you can recline the chairs. They also come with a seat heater.#reclinerchairs

At $15 or less this is the only way to see a movie! We hadnt seen a movie in a theater in years and the a friend raved about the Icon. Hands down our favorite. Clean and comfortable from the lobby to the bathrooms to our seats.Theres plenty of parking and the parking is free too. The kiosk takes some getting used to but the helpful staff is there to answer all your questions. I do have to say that once you go VIP its hard to go back to standard. The seats are wider and heated the only problem is not all movies are shown in VIP theaters. Have yet to try their restaurant or bar but it looks good and we have it on good authority that it doesnt disappoint.

Super nice, super clean, and very friendly staff. The seats are very cozy and I love the ticket purchasing kiosks! At the bar upstairs, The bartender was very nice, but their drinks are so-so. My margarita was too sweet and acrid. They need some fancier booze and fun drinks—I’m sure the bartender could be a great mixologist if he had the right ingredients available.

I was immediately impressed when I walked into the entrance of the theater. There’s a huge red eye catching chandelier and the option to use the escalator, elevator, or stairs to get to the second level where you purchase tickets and concessions on a kiosk. The bar/lounge area along with the VIP showing rooms are located on the third level; with a Happy Hour from 5-7pm this is a perfect location to hangout with friends for drinks and a movie. Their general showing rooms are comfortable as well with heated reclining seats, which is a nice touch. I enjoyed my first visit here so much that I returned the vey next day to watch a movie with my kids and enjoy my experience again. I will definitely keep this movie theater on my list for my next date night.

Soft drink tasted like excess soda water. Popcorn was cold and way over salted. Ate about 4 bites and couldn’t eat more. Theater gets really hot especially in the rear seats which are closer to the ceiling.Management has no clue which tells me they just simply have bad managers. Any experienced management team would be monitoring these things continuously.I didn’t ask for a refund but when I told a manager about these things he looked at me like I was nuts. Didn’t care one bit.Don’t bother going to this theater. You’ll be disappointed.Management needs to be replaced with real managers.

Everything about this theater is awesome except for the sound quality. We went to see the fantastic beasts and the crimes of Grindelwald. We booked the VIP 21+ lounge seats. The theater is really good with heated reclining seats. We got cheese popcorn and icon nachos with chicken. Both were really good, especially the nachos. But the sound quality was so bad, even though they say it is Dolby Atmos. I personally prefer the picture and sound quality to be good in a theater, irrespective of how the amenities are. So it was a big turn off for me.I really loved the amenities, snacks and seats. If only they had good sound system, this would have been my favourite theater in the area.

Have gone there twice now, both times around 10pm, will not go again, the service in the bar and food areas are really bad, why would you stop serving food 10 minutes before your last movie starts, why even bother having movies that late. Also every time we have gone and ordered two drinks at the bar the staff in the bar are so slow that we missed 20-30 minutes of the movie. The best Icon theatre compared to San Jose ().We were skeptical in the beginning since weve seen already the following amenities (Cinemark and other cinemas outside the country): spacious, luxurious, heated recliners, tray tables, assigned seats and alcohol bar. However, what differs and what we truly appreciate at this location are:-21+ for adults (this is A PLUS for us and other parents who are on a date night will love it)-very organized-great and attentive customer service-employees who are truly working and not just yapping away-very clean and well maintained restrooms (dyson air blade tap hand dryer) hallways and auditoriums- great teamwork, all staff along with their leaders work together to clean up each auditorium after the show has ended. Were not sure if this is just due to this theater being new, but if not please continue. First time at ICON to watch Star Wars on Christmas Day. Access is to the theater is simple. Although having to cross a road between the parking lot and the theater should be avoided. Maybe a walkway across on the second floor. Inside the theater seemed pretty simple. Not as confusing as some theaters can be. The sound system was clear and strong. Like most theaters, a little louder than necessary during some of the previews. The seats are reasonable but not well suited for anyone who is short.

My favorite theater in the bay area so far. Theyve got a nice bar with a decent selection of liquor. Not an extensive selection of beer but its alright. Theres a lot of food - full entrees you can order or smaller snacks like pizza/hot dogs/quesadillas and so on (and of course popcorn and the regular movie theater stuff). The seats are great - large reclining seats that are also heated. The regular ticket section is a little too close to the screen, you have to get VIP tickets to sit towards the back.

I would like to like this place and I wish them success but I just cant. The backs of their chairs dont recline as much as I would like so I always feel a bit uncomfortable on them. I feel like a lot of the seats are placed in bad position, e.g. too close to the screen with not enough good seats per room. The sinks, while neat with the combo drier, tend to get scalding hot very fast. I also feel like its unnecessarily trying to do too much that a theater doesnt need to do, but most people would probably enjoy this maybe.

Disruption has come to the Old Fashioned Movie Theater....in a GREAT WAY!! The Showplace Icon at Mountain View is located across from the beloved Milk Pail Market (Actually it is in the old parking area for The Milk Pail). This theater is a luxury experience. You feel completely pampered even outside of the Theater, with ample off street covered parking, and elevators for complete accessibility. There is a lovely outdoor lounge area featuring couches, easy chairs and cafe tables. When you enter, there are many people delighted to help you navigate your first experience at the Theater. One must purchase their movie tickets online, as this theater only has the comfy reclining seats with in-seat heaters.A big surprise is the gorgeous third floor bar and restaurant area. The design of every space is sleek modern and chic.Lets talk about a GREAT movie experience!!! There are three ICON-X screens. This experience is about 25% more expensive (so $16.00 instead of $12.00 per ticket) but well worth it. ICON-X is a large format screen with AMAZING ATMOSPHERIC SOUND and EFFECTS! There is a VIP area for adults 21 and over, along with a bar and the serving of (gasp!) Adult Beverages. It’s not obvious to us that there was an upper half floor restricted to VIP when we bought the ticket online. When we mentioned we wanted to switch to upper floor, all the staff there kept telling us we need to pay extra fee.Only after I complained it’s not fair since this is not clearly noted when we bought the tickets, they mentioned we can get free membership to upgrade our tickets...Honestly I’m not a fan of this VIP section idea since I don’t really think upper floor should be an extra... The lower floor isn’t that comfortable that you have to bend you neck to watch. With all the movie theaters I went, this is something I heard the first time...

It’s a great location for a theatre. Love the assigned seating and food to the seat etc however; -2 Stars for a couple of things.I found it archaic that even if you buy your ticket on your phone and have a QR code you have to print your ticket at the kiosk and take it upstairs only to have the usher to tear it in half. Super redundant (and environmentally unfriendly) especially for a theatre that seems like it wants to be considered tech forward.I didn’t want to believe the reviews about the seats but after trying the seats myself.. the reviews are spot on.. the head rest is unusually hard and at an uncomfortable point on your neck. I came out with a neck ache. -1 star for that.. because sadly if the seats aren’t comfortable.. they take away from your entire movie watching experience. Just my 2 cents!
