I didnt know this place existed. I Googled hiking trails and I came up on a spot that caught my eye, The Stevens Creek Shoreline Nature Study Area. This is a must go to if you enjoy nature and water, The Rengstorff House is a nice place to visit and it was interesting to read some history on the oldest home in Mountain view.
As both a guest and having been a volunteer here, Ive found the house museum to be a good place to learn some of the interesting early history of Mountain View and the Bay Area. Therere complimentary tours of the house museum on Tues, Wed, and Sun. Sunday tours are led by a docent in period costume which folks enjoy. The grand tour finale in the music parlor wowed me with the opportunity to hear music players do their thing the way they wouldve for audiences over a century ago. The museum and grounds are also rented at a reasonable price for events and special occasions, like tea parties and weddings during non-touring hours. The grounds at Shoreline Park where the house stands are also a pleasant backdrop for all sorts of visitors including nature seekers.
This place is awesome!Ive done video and photography in this place multiple times. Its spacious enough for couple hundred people and there is a lake near it! The Victorian house is also very nice, although a bit dark inside. Otherwise, the outside is freaking awesome!!!
This is right by shoreline park and is a great place to walk around.

We have our wedding ceremony here! Nice staff and great view! The existence is very happy. Thanks a lot for their help!
One of a kind. My friend had a wedding here. The entire ceremony is outdoor. The space felt relaxing by day and cozy by night especially with the string light set up. The house was mainly for the wedding party to hangout and get ready. Theres a kitchen available to prepare food.
Beautiful and fascinating historic house, but Id like to see the upper floor opened.
Great location for wedding reception or a special event.
Attended a wedding here. The venue is really nice.
Wonderful place for events. Had a great time.
Historic house in mountain view. Worth the visit if you are going to see the lake anyways. They have several tours going on every week. Several times a week you may tour the house and learn about the entrepreneur rengstorrf and his family. Several times a year they do environmental tours as well around the bay. Also check their calendar for other annual activities. You may event rent this venue for special occasions.
I’m a wedding coordinator who had a wedding at Rengstorff House. If you like a natural outdoor ceremony and indoor reception, this is a very affordable place. Plus, highly recommend the catering services. Their food is delicious! All of our guests, including bride and groom— were impressed with the food and service. Highly recommend it!!!
Great tour guide and a memorable experience. He was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions that most people wouldnt have asked. I would recommend this to anyone but more strongly to families with kids.
The only thing I would like to see is a free version of the game

Not too much to see inside, but I love that a group of historic buffs cling on to this place.
I always pass by this place going to the plaza and never knew it was a landmark
I remember back when they moved this house to its current location back in the early eighties. The area was mainly landfill.
An interesting piece of Mountain Views history
