If youre looking for a kind and supportive community then this is it. I went to Camp Q for two years and seriously considered coming back as a counsellor. During two weeks, I built meaningful friendships that I cherish till this day. The staff are wonderful as they are all about spreading acceptance and positivity. They allowed me to step out of comfort zone and enjoy activities such as riding horses or rock climbing. It really feels like one big family. Especially when we gather around the bonfire and sing camp songs. Counsellors are so fun and caring! They always make sure each camper feels included. My favourite part of camp was taking hiking trips. It was always a group of new kids and you got to built friendships and meet all kinds of different people. I would definitely recommend this camp to someone who wants to have a classic camp experience.
During my first year of college, I was looking for a summer internship and I came across Camp Quinebarge. When I applied, I didnt realize how wonderful an experience it would be. This camp is so special for each kid, and being a part of the staff here was a truly unique experience. The campers at Camp Quinebarge truly have the summer of their life, and I hope to see this camp grow even bigger so that more kids can have the best summer possible.
Camp Quinebarge is a friendly and fun place. It was my first time attending a summer camp. Everyone here made me feel welcome. I made great memories and friendships. I am very proud to be a part of this amazing summer camp! Can’t wait for next summer!
Beautiful location, camp feels like Im back in my childhood! Traditional (with upgrades), picturesque and so many things to do - wish I was a kid going here!
This is the BEST CAMP EVER! Our son Jimmy has been going for the last 4 years, this year will be his 5th and each year he looks forward to going. He liked it so much that his cousin and his BF have been joining him the last 2 years. This is such a great experience, it gives the kids an amazing opportunity to explore the outdoors and make friends with kids from all over the world. They get a glance at what it was like when we were kids and had no electronics and played outdoors and had a BLAST! The counselors are absolutely amazing and they truly add to the Fun of camp. This is like a family and We cant say enough good things about it. Love Camp Quinebarge!!
This camp far exceeded our expectations for a summer camp for our daughter! The owners, directors, and staff are all amazing!! My daughter counts down the days ALL YEAR until it is time to go to camp again! This camp is simply the best!
We love Camp Quinebarge! Herc, the director, made a real effort to connect with our two kids prior to camp starting last year and it made all the difference for their comfort level. Our daughter was only 7 when she went last year and when we picked her up after two weeks she told us she wanted to stay for the whole summer! We are missing Camp Quinebarge this summer but will no doubt be back when it safely reopens.
Both of our kids have gone to Camp Q for years. They cannot wait for each Summer and always ask to go longer. A great place to have fun and learn to be independent.
My 7 year old daughter went here last year and had a great time. All off the staff were extremely friendly and everything about the place was great. My wife and I were a bit uneasy at first sending her away at such a young age but everyone at the camp was very reassuring and when we arrived to drop her off it was clear that she was going to have a safe and fun time. She made lots of friends with kids of all ages and we loved seeing the photos each night that get posted for parents. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we would happily send her again.
Our family loves Camp Quinebarge. Its a wonderful summer camp for kids. The staff treat the kids like family and the location is the perfect summer camp experience for kids!
We loved Camp Quinebarge. Our kids had a wonderful experience and they cannot wait to return to camp next summer!
My 12 year old daughter has been going to Camp Quinebarge since she was 9 years old. She loves everything about it- the waterfront, the counselors, the sense of community, her friends, and Monkeytown! She cannot wait to return next summer!
My 12 year old has gone twice and absolutely loved it. It’s great to get him away from his devices and spending time outdoors with wonderful staff while establishing friendships that will last a lifetime!
I’ve been coming here at camp since 2014 and I love this place. My dad used to come here when he was little and I have so many good memories in the place as well with the people and so does he. Every time I come back I love all the activities and I love getting the time to be with the people that I have grown up with here at camp. Since I was little I got to hear stories from my dad about the great time he used to spend here and about all the things that he remembers from this place. I looked forward to coming here and being here has accomplished and exceeded my expectations every time. It always breaks my heart when I have to leave and wait an whole year to get to be here again. They have amazing people to guide us and to help is through all of the good and sad times. The place is like home, where I can go back to all the great experiences and memories that I have here.
My grandson’s 10th year would have been this summer. He started as a 5 year old when Quinebarge offered day camp. Out of various activities offered, both outside and inside, his favorite was hiking the trails of the White Mountains. The vacation from electronics has been huge...allowing kids to be free to connect with nature!
I highly recommend Camp Quinebarge!!!!! I attended many years ago and had such warm and positive memories of Camp Q that I realized it was the perfect fit for my daughter when she was ready for camp. Owned by a former camper for the past several years, Camp Q continues to have the same down to earth and genuine spirit that it had when I went there almost 40 years ago. The facilities have been refurbished (the main hall and some of the other buildings have been restored to way beyond their original glory) and the waterfront is full of fun inflatable structures for kids to play on as well as all the swimming and boating activities that were always offered. At the same time the camp still retains a rustic feel with open air cabins, in a beautiful wooded landscape on an idyllic NH lake. The camp embraces a friendly, cooperative, non-competitive atmosphere, emphasizes conservation and environmental awareness, is inclusive and offers all the traditional activities one expects in a summer camp. My child made lasting friendships with kids she stays in touch with throughout the year.
This summer camp experience was wonderful for my grandson. He is not the most outgoing child, but being at this camp did wonders for his self esteem. He made friends easily as the camp counselors consider it a priority to make sure each camper makes at least one new friend during the weeks they attend camp. My grandson appreciated being able to make his own schedule instead of being forced to participate in sports or activities which did not interest him. This flexibility is rare at summer camps, and it was perfect for Kyle. Camp Quinebarge gets high marks in my book!
Staff is top notch. Very thankful for their attention to detail and focus!
I had a great experience last summer, which was my first summer at Camp Quinebarge. I stayed for the full 8 weeks. I made really good friends. Monkey Town was really fun because we got to do carnival games, buy special snacks with Monkey Town money. The food was also very good compared to most other sleep away camps. I am excited to return this coming summer to meet my friends and make new ones. Nick and Liz the two co-directors made me feel welcome and made sure I had a great time.
Great camp! Nature, community, activities and friendships that last beyond the summer months.
This camp provided me with the best summers imaginable, year after year. From the wide range of interesting activities, to the fun and friendly traditions, Quinebarge knows exactly how to craft an amazing set of experiences in a scenic NH woodsy environment. The culture is terrific, the vibe is low-key, friendly and genuine, and the memories last a lifetime. Smiling even now as I think about the great times I had over many summers at Camp Q!
I attended Camp Q for many years as a kid, and MANY of my cherished memories are from that time. I still follow the camp and personally know the leadership there (who attended camp when I was there), and it is comforting to know that so many traditions still exist. Based upon all I read and know about the current state of the camp, I am certain that it is a great fit for prospective campers.
My kids had the best time at camp. They made life long friends and brag about their wonderful summer. As a parent, it was great to see them come back with more confidence. We appreciate the great staff.
I can’t say enough about Camp Quinebarge! This was Summer’s 3rd year and to say she loves it is an understatement. The staff and everyone here are wonderful! Thank you Anna for the pictures! It makes my day to see her smiling, laughing with her friends, and having a great time. Thank you Liz for always going above and beyond as you all make Summer feel like family. There are so many fun activities and it’s such a great experience. She has made lifelong friends and memories that will last forever!
Camp Quinebarge is the best camp ever. It is a loving, caring, and safe home away from home for children of all ages. Professional and loving staff will care for your children. Nurses will provide everything from head checks upon admission to medical care throughout your childs stay. Kitchen staff will accommodate all dietary needs as my son had food allergies. Payment plans available. Immaculate cabins with storage space for clothing. Safety, security, and an amazing experience for your child is their number one priority. We enrolled our son for the first time in July of 2019 at barely 7 years old. Within one week of my call, he left Connecticut and arrived in New Hampshire. Nick Hercules and Liz Odiorne are co-directors who developed an immediate relationship with our family. All throughout the year if you have a question or concern about anything at all, they are there for support and remember parents on a first name basis. When you arrive at camp you will also meet the rest of the amazing staff including the owners who are onsite and part of the fun. I signed my son up again for 2020 in September of 2019. My son participated in everything from swimming, bike riding, sports, to horseback riding. (Which by the way he said he would never do. Every night pictures of the kids are posted and every night Matthew had a smile on his face. He was so happy. I cant say enough about this amazing camp. I wish I could go. We are so thankful to be part of the Quinebarge family. Thank CQ for all that you do! Sincerely Wendy Burroughs
I have a set of triplets that absolutely loved this camp . They spent a month there this past summer and still talk about their adventures, friends and counselors ! They had so Much fun and truly learned a lot. I also feel they matured while they were there. They seem Much more confident, knowledgeable, and responsible after attending . They will be returning in 2020. Great place with great values .
Our son is so excited to return to camp for his third year! We are grateful for the connections he made during camp with not only the campers, but the staff. He will also be joined by his younger brother this year who wants to experience the Camp Q fun, too! Co-Director Nick Hercules has been nothing but generous, accommodating, and caring with his interactions with us and our son. I would highly recommend this camp!
I was just sitting at work and was thinking about the summer. I need to tell Nick Hercules with a smile on my face I appreciate the opportunity he gave me to send Colin to camp. I sincerely want to Thank You for making this summer extra special for Colin. He had a blast meeting everyone and having a true camping experience. He has made lifelong friends and the confidence and stuff he learned is priceless. Just wanted you to know.
This year is my fourth year at this camp. I think the main thing that has been bringing me back has been the amazing staff and amazing people. A great part about this camp is definitely the concept of developing social skills without a phone so that kids can learn how to properly communicate with each other without the dependency on phones. Over my years at camp I have formed long term friendships which of who I have made great memories with. Overall this camp called camp Quinebarge is definitely a camp to remember for years to come.
I’ve been going to Camp Quinebarge for two years, and the summer of 2020 will be my third. All the people I met at camp became good friends that were always there for me. The counselors and CITs are always there to help and are supportive. The food at camp is the BEST! The food they make is always amazing, and if you do not like what they are serving, there is always a salad bar available. I love all the activities, especially drama, horseback riding, arts and crafts, and all water activities (love the slide, trampoline, and rocket that are in the lake).
My son worked at this camp during Summer 2019. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay there. He felt it was a great experience for young people to have. Would highly recommend
I might be biased because I am the Camp Director but this is the best camp in the world. Campers come here to have a lot of fun and make a ton of friends. Be themselves and learn about others. I can not say enough positive things about Quinebarge. I love it here.
Our child won a scholarship there through an essay contest through Franz Acre Hall in Salem NH. It could not have come at a better time he was having a rough time being a teen. It was a 2 week stay at Camp Quinebarge. It was the best thing that ever happened to him. After 3 days of being there, he was asking to stay for another 2 weeks. After being there for 2 weeks, we went for a visit and he ask for another 2 weeks. By the end of our visit, thanks to our friends and family, he was booked to stay for the whole 8 week session, now in training to be a CIT and was asked come back next season to be a camp counselor. He has not only made a ton of new friends but might have found his calling in life as a career. Hes having the time of his life. The Camp Director, Nick Hercules and the amazing staff, the food, the people, everything about this camp is just AWESOME AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE I KNOW..
As a mother and educator, I deal with youth of all ages daily. Many of these children are lonely, disconnected, craving real friendships that can only be born out of deep, meaningful, shared experiences. The impact of your child’s summer at Camp Quinebarge will last long after the the glow of the campfire has flickered out and the dust of the trail has fallen from their boots. They will dig deeper. They will become resilient. They will connect with themselves in a way that will allow them to connect with others and the world around them.Camp Quinebarge really knows what happy and healthy children want and need.
First impressions are amazing. This is our first time sending our daughter off to an overnight camp and didn’t know where to start looking or what to expect. Back in January, we starting simply searching for camps online and came across Camp Quinebarge. The website was simple to move around, well done and just had the family feel to it. I spoke to Erik, Camp Director, during an online chat while just answering simple questions. After talking to him for a bit, he gave me a call and we ended talking for over an hour. After the conversation, I knew this was the camp for my daughter. Eric made me feel like this was the right choice, went over the importance of how the camp will help her grow through so many activities and different experiences. Most importantly, I knew my daughter was going to be safe and part of a great family. We are not able to look at the camp due to snow but still signed her up because of Eric. In May, Eric reached out to us and invited us up to see the camp before anyone else this season. Once we arrived, he was all about my daughter in making sure she made the right decision, which was great because it was about her. He drove us around the camp that seemed to never end. The camp is huge and there is so much to do. When we it was time to leave, my daughter didn’t want too. If this experience is anything like how actual camp will be this summer, we can’t wait. The process was simple, talking to Eric for hours was reassuring and comforting that we are sending her to a great camp. Just want to simply say thank you Eric and can’t wait for this summer.
I enjoyed 7 summers at Camp Q and would highly recommend Camp Quinebarge. Those summers were an important part of my childhood that gave me great adventures and experiences as well as some lifelong friendships.
I worked at Quinebarge and I loved it. the friends and memories I made at this place mean so much to me. I only hope more people get a chance to experience this magical place!
Reading the other reviews, I see that I’m not the only one who’s been impressed be the Camp Quinebarge experience.Even more heartening are the the comments on the website from the campers themselves. Comments about overcoming shyness, wrestling with uncertainty and walking away a little more confident, figuring out where we fit in in this world, both among the humans and the other critters.Keep up the good work!
My 11 year old son and 9 year old daughter just spent 2 weeks at Camp Quinebarge and absolutely loved it. Our daughter was home sick at first but Nick and the crew were quickly able to make her feel at home and address her concerns. Nick called, keeping me informed of how she was doing. On the last night she told her counselor she didn’t want to leave. Both Of our kids begged for us to send them back next year.
Having been associated with Camp Q for over 50 years, I have seen it grow from a small boys camp to the medium sized beautiful co-ed camp it is today. I attended, at the time, the sister girls camp. The setting is ideal for summer fun for kids. It has large waterfront access, on lovely Lake Kanasatka, in a rustic, wooded acreage. Children come back year after year for the beauty and the friends they make. Now it is in the hands of an global environmentalist, who was a former camper and staff counselor. He and his family care about the grounds, to keep it pristine, and to teach our new generations to care for our world. Children learn about nature, animals, arts and crafts, sports, and much more without realizing how much they actually are learning. It is done in a safe, nurturing and fun way. Quinebarge is ACA accredited, which means it meets very high standards for safety, cleanliness and regulations. Please check this wonderful, magical place for children, deep into the lakes region and at the foothills to the White Mountains in NH. Your child will have a lifetime of memories to cherish, and lifelong friendships too. I know, I married one of the campers I first met over 50 years ago. What a wonderful place to grow up!!
It was a long time ago but going Camp Quinebarge was a pivotal experience for me. It is the place where I fell in love with mountains (especially the White Mountains), and made long lasting friendships. Visiting recently, I still found my Camp Q but also noticed the improvements in the buildings and grounds, programming, and felt the welcoming spirit of the campers and staff. There arent many places like Quinebarge, that seamlessly integrate tradition and progression with a strong social and ecological ethic.
Great camp on a beautiful property! Staff is highly competent and dedicated to providing campers both a fun and educational experience while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
We love Camp Quinebarge. The friends that are made, the staff, activities, and so much more. Even the food was incredible and fresh. The whole experience is is life changing. We urge any family looking for the best summer camp experience to look at Camp Quinebarge.
My kids loved their two weeks of camp this year. They are very excited to do four weeks next summer. My son was engrossed in woodshop and and my daughter was a fish who spent a ton of time in the lake. Counselors were awesome. As parents, we lived the daily FB pictures that allowed us a glimpse into their experience.
Camp Quinebarge has been an amazing experience for my daughter and she cant wait to go back next year! She had never been to camp before and decided to go, even though she didnt know anyone and we had only lived in the US for a year. She loved that everybody was so kind and respectful there, she made new friends in no time and created strong ties to her cabins maids. She enjoyed every single activity and cant stop talking about the delicious food :) Thank you all at Quinebarge for creating this supportive environment.
Wonderful camp!! My daughter age 11, was a little timid about going to sleep away camp and wanted to do the minimum number of weeks (2wks). When I picked her up at end of session, she was all smiles. The first thing she said was, “I’m coming back next summer and staying longer!” She loved all the activities there, especially swimming and overnight tent camping and made friends from all over the country and even from abroad.
Camp Quinebarge was an amazing opportunity that allowed my children to make new friends, have fun, practice independence, and grow in so many ways. The staff were warm and engaging, and made the transition to camp life smooth and enjoyable. The camp has high safety standards, which was important to me as a parent. Swimming lessons were offered daily and the setup of water inflatables on the Kanasatka was quite impressive. My kids were excited about the various activity options they were able to choose from and looked forward to special trips off camp. I would highly recommend Camp Quinebarge.
Before Quinebarge, I had never stepped foot onto a summer camp. I was so lucky to be hired as a counselor for this past summer and had such a fantastic time. I had never been a part of a more accepting and motivated staff as I was this summer. It was a joy to be able to connect and work with the children who attended Quinebarge. An excellent experience for anyone wanting to work with kids while also having a wonderful summer!
In summer 2018, I flew all the way from Madrid to America to work as a camp counselor. I was a very nervous at first but they made me feel at home when I arrived and I learned a lot of things during my time staff training before campers arrived.Things became even more amazing when the children arrived, Camp Q is the nicest place you could find to send your kids. Everyone is welcoming and its a place where friendships are made and cherished, Children choose their activities and its amazing to see them try things and become better at things like boating, horse riding and much more.
The activities at camp were so much fun! Had a brilliant time thanks to all the staff.
My experience as a CIT at Camp Quinebarge was an excellent experience to say the least. I have been coming to this camp for 7 years now and this year as a CIT was one of my best by far. Over the course of the summer I learned so many skills in leadership, teamwork, and communication. Not only did I learn many things and gain many skills, but I also had so much fun while doing it.
I visited the camp for one day. It was on a very beautiful lake and everyone seemed to be having a great time!
Former camper for 9 years. Cant say enough about the camp, ownership throughout the years, staff, other campers, buildings, activities on and off property, beauty of the area and the camp. It is the camp where I want my children to attend. Q-U-I-N-E-B-A-R-G-E, heres to our Quinebarge, we sing to thee... Fairest of all the camps, give her a 1-2-3!! Ever we praise thee, love and adore, heres to our Quinebarge for evermore!!!!
Our son’s been attending for two years and absolutely loves it. Great international presence amongst campers and counselors, and the staff is wonderful. Highly recommend.
Camp Quinebarges activities and staff were awesome. My sons really enjoyed camp and are looking forward to going next year!
My two boys have attended camp Quinebarge for the last two years and have loved it. They have made many new friends and have learned to be independent. The counselors are kind and supportive. Both boys have food allergies and the kitchen staff has been accommodating to ensure they are safe at meal time. We hope to return next year!
My experience as a CIT was great as I got to learn how to be a counselor along with getting to bond with the other CITs and going on trips with them such as white water rafting and hiking. I’ve been going to Camp Quinebarge for 5 years now and my year as a CIT was one of the best yet. We also get to experience all parts of camp and all the different activities.
2019 was the first year my daughters (age 7 and 9) attended Camp Quinebarge and they loved it! The camp has so many options for activities and my girls loved all of them. They loved the camp, food, cabin friends, independence and being able to choose their weekly options. Months later they are still talking to all their friends and trying to recruit them to come to Quinebarge next summer. Im sure well have many more years of fun at Quinebarge! Thanks so much!
Worked as a counselor here the summer of 2017. The facilities are amazing, and the kids were terrific. Saying goodbye to them was tough at the end of the summer. The owners are really invested in the camp and making it fun for every child.
We love Camp Quinebarge! Our 2 boys (now 12 & 14) have gone 3 years in a row and will be back next year. Neither wanted to go away to camp the first year and then didnt want to leave when we went to pick them up! They started with a 2 week session and have been increasing since they enjoy it so much. The co-directors are fantastic and the whole staff really cares about the kids and their experience. The place is idyllic - just what youd picture for a New England lake camp, with traditions going back ~100 years. No phones, just conversation and fun and activities. We love that it is a co-ed camp, since neither of our boys had girl friends in their groups at school, but made great girl friends at camp among the many life-long friendships that theyve formed. Our oldest, in particular, was having a rough time before starting camp, and the camp has made a huge difference in his social life, confidence and outlook. We are so glad we were able to provide this opportunity for our kids. I cant say enough good things about the camp and the positive impact it has had for our family- if you are looking for camp for your kids, you cant go wrong here.
The best times of my childhood happened in this camp! I highly recommend it.
Camp Quinebarge is a traditional camp where every kid or counselor can feel at home. The staff is friendly and really helpful. The moment you arrive you are a part of the Quinebarge family. Whether you come from around, different state, different country or even a different continent. Everybody feels united and act as one. Its a place where you can make everlasting friendships, memories and where you are able to learn life lessons. Quinebarge provides you of a lot of entertainment, special trips, improvements of yourself in any directions you want and teaches you a lot about yourself. I couldnt think of a better camp to be a part of the family. I had some amazing experiences there as a counselor. If I ever have the opportunity to come back I defenitley will.
Worked at Quinebarge for 3 summers, I love this camp! Such a special place️
This camp’s staff is unparalleled! Fun, warm, professional, and experts in cultivating community.
We sent our 9yo daughter to Quinebarge last summer for her first sleep away camp. We were a little anxious since this would be her first time away from home and she was going to be so far from home (we live in NYC). She was there for 4 weeks and loved every minute of it! Every day we saw photos of her happy smiling face and we knew she was having a blast! She raved about the friends she made and how the counselors lovingly encouraged her to try new activities. Hands down her favorite activity was riding the horses! To this day, she still talks about how much fun she had and is looking forward to going for 6 weeks next summer. Thanks Camp Q!!!
One of my best friends works at this camp and the empowerment and familial vibes are so strong!
My daughter absolutely loved camp. The staff was amazing to work with. Would highly recommend.
This camp is run by a compassionate and caring family ! Couldn’t think of a better place for kids to spend the summer!
Beautiful setting and super fun place!
I have been part of the Camp Quinebarge community since I was 11 years old. I have gone from a camper, to a CIT, to a counselor and have loved every second of it. Now as a 21 year old college student I still cannot get enough of Camp Quinebarge! Camp Quinebarge is a special place. The memories that I have made here whether it was as a camper, CIT, or counselor are memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Camp Quinebarge is the best place to let kids just be kids. All activities are fun and engaging and may include things that children would not normally have access to! Growing up in New York City I didnt really have a place where I could do horseback riding, kayaking, and archery all in one day!! Camp Quinebarge fosters an environment where children will gain confidence, leadership skills, and endless friendships!!
Thanks to Quinebarge, my two children just had a very, er... ANIMATED discussion about who their top three favorite Quinebarge counselors are. 30 minutes later they agreed to accept ties for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Clearly, Quinebarge kids are the real winners in this contest!
I live in Paris and my 2 children have returned from their 2nd stay at Camp Quinebarge ... and have already planned to return next summer! They are delighted, had a great time with the friends they met at the camp. They took advantage of all the activities of the camp, being very well supervised by the different counselors. They loved the food (important for the french people ...).Camp Quinebarge has a very international culture and has shown that they are able to welcome and integrate children from different countries.Special mention to Liz who was very responsive to my requests and reassured me about their great experience to welcome children who travel alone.Thank you to all the camp staff for this great holiday!I highly recommend!
I’ve been at Camp Quinebarge for 7 years and each summer has been better than the last. My first year I was a day camper and I was always sad to to leave early when I was having so much fun. I begged my parents to let me stay overnight, and for the next 5 years I steadily increased my time at camp, staying for 8 weeks my last year as a camper. I was a CIT this year, and really enjoyed the balance of my newfound responsibility with the chances to go on trips and have fun with other CITs. Being a CIT felt meaningful because I had the chance to help the staff and ensure campers could have as much fun as I did when I was a camper. We ended our summer with a 3 day CIT trip hiking and white water rafting, and it was probably the most fun trip I’ve ever been on. If older campers are unsure about being a CIT, I would encourage them to give it a shot like I did because it definitely pays off.
In the summer of 2018 I attended Camp Quinebarge as a swim instructor and counsellor.I spent a little over two months working with children and other counsellors which gave me an insight into an eclectic range of cultures and backgrounds.I consider my time at Camp Quinebarge to be the happiest I have ever been because I made such incredible friends here, whom have given me an opportunity to see different parts of the world with.I think of the people I worked with very highly and I make sure to still keep in close contact with them, and I really cant wait to be reunited with them when I return for the 2019 summer. The children I was tasked with looking after are in my opinion remarkable, and to see them leave at the end of their visit was something I truly did not enjoy, as I built such close relationships with the children I was directly looking after, and the children I coached/taught how to swim. What at first glance seemed to me to be a simple summer camp turned out to be the best thing I have ever done in my life, and I would not change my time here for the world.
Working at Camp Quinebarge has been the best job experience I have ever had and my time there is something I wont ever forget. There is no other place where you can wake up every morning and know that your day will be filled with fun and laughter. While working at Quinebarge I got to meet and work with so many amazing kids and got to see first hand how friendships would flourish between campers from the moment they arrived at camp until pick up day at the end of a session when they would make promises to stay in touch until next summer, and you just know they will be lifelong friends. That really is a magical thing to witness. As a counselor, I have also made so many connections with other staff from all around the world. Some of whom I now consider to be lifelong friends.
The staff are professional and willing to help out in any way possible.
2019 was my first year at Camp Quinebarge. As a first year C.I.T, I can say with absolute positivity that this summer was been the best ever in my life. I made amazing C.I.T friends that I am keeping in contact with. The counselors have been so caring and kind especially with the kids. Being a cit at Camp Q has been the best in the world. The camp has been so incredibly helpful and caring. As a cit we had special camp trips and had an amazing three day white water rafting and hiking trip. The people I have meet at camp have helped me through the eight week that I spent here. I was very nervous being an eight weeker and coming to camp alone but I have learned so much and excited for another amazing year at Camp Q. Friendship is definitely ever lasting here at Camp.
Camp Quinebarge is an incredible place to go to! I have spent the past 7 summers at camp, starting at age 10. When I first came to camp for 4 weeks I had never been anywhere but day camps, but the staff and directors helped me settle in and feel at home, and I have been back for 5-8 weeks every summer since. Returning every year I have seen Quinebarge grow, with not only a brand new dining hall but also the new yurts for girls. Every summer the counselors have been amazing, and camp is a place that many campers call home. This summer as a CIT for 8 weeks I have loved the CIT program, from working with activities and cabins to doing projects such as building compost bins and a poly pong table. Working with campers this summer I have seen many kids who were initially hesitant about staying for 2 weeks turn around and beg their parents to stay for longer. Coming back every summer I have made friends that will last a lifetime, and can consider to be my best friends. Quinebarge truly has a special place in my heart, and I cannot emphasize enough the benefits of coming to camp.
My son had an amazing time and enjoyed doing archery!
Best camp experience! I now have friends all over the world that I am still in touch with. I can’t wait to have kids and then send them there when they are old enough!
Best time of my life! Highly recommend️
Even though my son is unable to attend this year Nick Hercules has been amazing. From day one, when we spoke on the phone until he came to the house for an in person sit down he has been amazing. We have been going through some stuff and unfortunately our child was unable to attend, but we paid already. Without even a hesitation they refunded our money right back. We kept them in the loop the entire time and he was extremely respectful and helpful. We look forward to sending our child to Quinebarge next summer.
I sent my kids here, and the LOVED IT! Highly recommend!
This will be my daughter Emily’s 4th year at Camp Q. She absolutely loves it there. No matter what session she signs up for (she has pretty much tried them all) it is always guaranteed to be a unique and incredible experience. As a family we love the fact she can unplug for a few weeks from electronics and just be a kid. It doesn’t bother her to give up her phone or tablets for that amount of time because she knows how much fun she is going to have once she is there. Camp Q is always changing the activities while maintaining a very structured schedule. Her day is jammed packed with fun and adventure. She’s always trying new things. She loves seeing familiar faces every year and the staff have become part of her summer family. It’s also nice to see the same kids while meeting so many new ones year after year. It’s amazing how much your kid grows from such a positive experience. I couldn’t thank Camp Q enough for all that they do for Emily!!!
The ratings say it all! This is an excellent camp that is made even better by the team that works there. Everyone I know that works for Camp Quinebarge is extremely passionate, and dedicated to what they do. Id recommend it to anyone!
I have gone to Camp Q for the last couple of years and cant wait to get back for my 3rd year this summer. I love my cabin next to the lake and enjoyed making great friends who I talk to all the time. There are so many fun things to do that I never missed my cell and video games!
My first year at camp was in 2002, and for many years after I considered it my home away from home. Many of my fondest memories from my childhood are of the summers I spent at Camp Q. I made friends, learned a lot, and eventually went on to become a counselor and help create wonderful memories for the next generation of campers. Its been nearly five years since my last summer, and to this day I have my quine-beads hanging by my desk and sometimes I still get the Quinebarge theme song stuck in my head.
My 13 year old daughter is returning to Camp Quinebarge for the 3rd time this summer! She loves the fact that she will be meeting up with friends, she enjoys all of the activity options that she has to choose from and she is looking forward to meeting new friends. As a parent, I love that she will be unplugged for 3 weeks, all that fresh air, daily swimming, a real summer camp atmosphere - and that I am leaving her in the care of the best staff! The staff is experienced, creative, compassionate and they love what they do! Camp Quinebarge challenges the campers while building positive confidence. I also love the environmental awareness component that is thread into each activity. A happy, healthy and much fun experience!
When we picked up our 13yo son after his first summer at Quinebarge I knew there was only one important question that would tell us how camp was: Do you want to go back?He said yes. What else do you need to know?
Camp Quinebarge has a special place in my heart. I spent many summers here as a day camper and loved it so much. I couldnt get enough of it. The staff was extremely welcoming and kind and I was able to spend around a week as an overnight camper. Every activity is filled with encouragement and joy. I remember feeling initially terrified of the climbing wall but the campers and staff built up my confidence and I climbed all the way to the top. I remember attempting the Giants Ladder with my older brother and all the campers standing on the ground below us cheering us on. The camp is extremely friendly and accommodating to all. Every day spent at Quinebarge was incredible and I am now hoping to return this summer as a counselor.
I spent two of the best summers of my life working as Waterfront director at Camp Quinebarge! The facilities, opportunities and general family/team feel of the place makes you immediate at home and provides memories youll treasure forever. Everyone works hard to make sure all children enjoy their experience, learn new skills, make friends and thrive! It is somewhere I hope to return in the near future!
My 3 children have all been campers at Camp Quinebarge since 2011. We are expats currently living in Dubai so we were looking for a real all-American camp environment. This is the camp! Its set on one of the most gorgeous lakes in New Hampshire amongst tall trees and the beautiful nature. Our children have loved their hiking, boating, sports adventures. Most importantly, they have made friends for life who also return year after year. We are proud to share that our eldest will be a counselor next summer while his two younger sisters return again as campers. Thank you Camp Quinebarge for all the amazing memories and experiences.
It was my first year coming into camp as a CIT and I was unsure of what to expect. Coming in, the camp was welcoming and the community of counselors, other CITs, and campers made me feel safe and like I could have a lot of fun.I was given responsibility on waterfront and having staff put that much trust in me especially so early on and recognize me for my abilities made me feel respected and excited to be at camp. When learning about camp quinebarge one of the first things said to me was that the goal was for the CIT group to be close and for all of us to make bonding friendships. Coming in I was scared of how everyone would react to a new CIT when people had such close bonds from some many years as campers but quinebarge has created an atmosphere in which when I came I was immediately welcomed and now I feel like the CITs in my group are some of my closest friends and like we’re genuinely our own camp family. Our CIT directors have done such a good job of helping us move through camp and keep a mature mindset through challenging situations. Them and the senior staff gave our CIT group this year the incredibly opportunity to go white water rafting in Maine. It was such an incredible experience and it made the CITs become even closer than we already are.Overall, entering camp Quinebarge has been an amazing learning experience and I feel like I’ve not only matured through the summer but found a new amount of confidence I didn’t know I had. I’m so excited to apply and I hope I can come back and keep making memories and amazing friendships for the years to come! I recommend to everyone to come to camp quinebarge whether it’s as a camper, CIT, or counselor because I want as many people as possible to have the same chance to have as good an experience as I have had here.
First year coming year and had a great experience working with all the staff and campers!
I was a camper for 6 years and for my 7th year, I was a Counselor In Training (CIT). It was a strange switch from being supervised to being the authoritative figure, but I learned valuable skills when I was working with kids, other counselors, and other fellow CITs. I was only there for 4 weeks, but I wish I could’ve stayed for longer to get even more out of this experience. I truly loved the CIT program, where we got to help out with a cabin for a session and an activity for a week. Our CIT directors helped us along the way and guided us through our journey to being counselors. Meeting other CITs have made me lifelong friends who I will never forget. Camp Quinebarge has made my summer 2019 my favorite one yet, and I hope to come back as a counselor next year.
Incredible camp experience! Nick Hercules is the man!
We could not recommend Camp Quinebarge more highly. This is our sonss second year at Quinebarge, and he just returned after a 2-week session and is asking to stay for four weeks next year! The staff are all true professionals and each is invested in making every kid feel welcome and cared for in the safest, most enriching and supportive manner that allows them to spread their wings. Our son has come away with amazing (and what we can imagine may be lifelong) friendships and a strong sense of community. Quinebarge is a truly special place that we are sure will be a part of our family for years to come.
Camp Quinebarge is a special place. It always draws you back, the people you meet are both eclectic and interesting, and easily become friends for life. The staff is professional and a solid unit by the time the campers arrive. The activities are fun and informative, with regular updates to equipment and attention to detail in all the facilities. Safety and cleanliness is paramount and it shows. The memories I have from camp will stay with me forever and I am friends to this day with many amazing people far and wide because of the bonds made at Quinebarge. It has help myself, and countless others be better people in so many senses and stimulates interests in things you never knew you had. An amazing place for new young campers, and older experienced campers alike, would highly recommend to anyone looking to have a fun summer by the lake.
Our daughter attended rookie week when she was 7 last summer. It was her first camp experience, and we were a bit nervous about sending her. She loved camp! She has grown so much since this experience. She made some wonderful friends that shes kept in touch with through letters, and we just had a playdate with one of her camp friends a couple of weeks ago. Its such a special friendship, and they love that they get to send each other letters and talk about plans for this coming summer. Shes returning for 2 weeks, and I have full trust in the Camp Quinebarge team to take good care of her, as they support and love all their kids in their summer camp experience. Its a small camp, and it feels cozy and quaint, which I think is one of the best things about it. Thanks so much to all the wonderful staff who make camp happen and take such good care of our kids.
