Just a little piece of heaven, fun and easy to kayak. Beautiful clean facilities and hot showers if you dont try the morning rush (heard they were just warm so we were pleasantly surprised when our afternoon showers after kayaking were hot!) We will be back.

Great Campground. A stones throw to the Morro Bay marina. Clean and very easy to get to. The State Park system built a wooden pathway that takes out to the Marsh. Stay a few nights to take in the awesome sunsets afforded by this location.

Its a lovely town. We had the perfect weather for scootering, kayaking and watching the sunset. Best way to maintained social distancing and still able to do our activities.

Morro Bay State Park has been one of my favorite places to camp and explore for the last 35 years and I’m happy to be able to introduce my kids to it now.The camping is great. The museum is fun and has a really cool location, and the kayaking and exploration of the sand spit is great for all ages with lots of pelicans and otters to be seen up close.

Great oceanside experience. Popular for surfing, not too challenging. On the harbor side often good sea otter watching.

Such a cool place! The wind was crazy the day I was there but I had such a great time hiking and found a whole raft of sea otters thanks to the helpful lady inside the museum. Try and make a stop here if you have the time, the Museum of Natural History is inside the park.

An amazing location for a state park! The facilities are a bit run down as are the campsite utility hookups but everything is functional. Campsites are very slim (just wide enough for vehicles) and the rest of the site is dirt and some grass (with exception of the handicap spots which are very wide and all pavement). If it rains, plan on a messy stay! Some sites flood out easily. Beautiful scenery for sure!

Super cool experience! Loved the variety of water slides and activities. Room was great, food was tasty and the staff happily corrected a mistake on the final bill. Thanks for a great time!!

A great little State Park with a few trails. The scenery from Black Hill lookout offers amazing views of Morro Bay and Morro Rock. Worth a visit if in Morro Bay.

Ive been enjoying Morro Bay State park throughout my life time. Morro Bay definitely has something to offer any and all visitors!!

Some good amenities at the park. Enjoyed Morro Bay Golf Course and the chowder Verde at Bayview cafe is tasty.

Beautiful Campground. Its a shame we have to make a 3-month reservation in advance

This place is one of the best places I saw along the PCH for wildlife viewing. There are plenty of seabirds, otters, and sea lions to watch and lovely ocean views as well. I recommend taking a few hours to explore the area and enjoy watching the animals.

Great place to camp and hike.

This is a nice park, with plumbing inside the rest rooms and showers. The showers are token fed, and tokens cost 50¢ each, and last for two minutes. And it takes almost a full two minutes to run the water until its warm enough to get into on a cool day. And just about every day is a cool day this close to the waterTheres still lots of grounds work being done here during the day, with heavy equipment rumbling along and beeping loudly whilst driven in reverse. It sounds very much like an inner city construction zone during the day. And it still costs $50 for hookups, and $37/night for Primitive campsites, meaning just a pad to park on, a cement picnic table, and a fire pit.But, theres a golf course adjacent, a small marina across the street, and aside from the constant sound of heavy equipment at work, it could be peaceful.

Excellent Campground

Fantastic, beautiful, quiet with walking trails and bike to the waterfront. Dont miss The Coffee Pot for breakfast. If you are lucky you will get Sandy to serve you. Do relaxing here.

A beautifully picturesque bit of nature. A great place to walk, reflect or take photos. Serene and peaceful, with great bird watching as well. If youre in the area, its worth taking some time away from the shops and restaurants to check out the park!

One of my most favorite coastal towns. Low key town with great food and shops. We visited this town when my sons were young and so brings back fond memories of how much fun they had along the ocean hunting for sea shells and ocean fishing. Never as crowded as other cities along the coast but just as interesting in the love of nature.

Its a great place to take the family and enjoy the ocean plus, there are lots of other things to do like going on the trails if you feel like hiking, or you could go to any of the shops in the area plus they have a great variety of places to go and get a bite to eat. We love going there a few times every year.

This park was a beautiful place to visit! I know we didnt get a chance to see everything but we did go on a lovely hike. The short trail took us up to a great view of Morro Rock and the surrounding area.

A spontaneous stop to capture this amazing place but its not the first time that I painted this beautiful Morro Bay State Park Estuary and campgrounds not to mention world-class Golf Course ! Heres a local secret you have to keep quiet ....after having a drink at at the amazing world class bar across the street at the Inn at Morro Bay or the golf course clubhouse continue up the road to the top of Black Mountain and you will be rewarded! I will add my recent painting with a condor and a bear overlooking the Valley of the Bears! Best view in Morro Bay hands down ....drive slow and be respectful of others or find a golf ball coming through your windshield

Really nice campground. Also, really nice golf course, also a bay that you can swim in or rent a kayak or canoe. Many tidal pools and a science museum.

I am saddened to give this park a less than stellar rating.ProsLocation, location, location.ConsThere generator rules allow the use between 10 am and 8 pm. The whole 10 hours of people running contractor generators to watch TV or other uses. Please update to, two hours in the morning and two hours at night.The sites were not well maintained nor level and although the golf course was well manicured the campground was overgrown and littered.The user of tokens to take a shower. The camping price should cover a shower.Final thoughtsIf required to be in the area again I would stay because of the price but would not actually plan a trip.

Had breakfast @ The Coffee Pot Restaurant delicious food and staff is knowledgeable and very attentive a must to eat n and njoy.

Stunning and magnificent. I loved the beauty of the ocean and that loan solitary Rock. It was very peaceful and beautiful.

We had a pleasant trip with our 7 grandkids. Area is ok, didnt like that our granddaughter had to move her car when it fit perfectly with our 19 ft trailer and pilot. Says no dishwashing at the faucets, but have no sink to wash dishes. You have to drive to the beach. I like being able to walk to the beach.

Beautiful scenery and countless activities surround you at this place. You can go play a few rounds at the golf course that is in the heart of this park ortake a stroll along any of the paths that are literally everywhere you look. You could stop by the museum thats also there at the foot of the park or take a kayak out for a nice spin around the bay. The sunsets here are epic and second to none, very beautiful. Ive been here 28 years and each sunrise and sunset is so unique. Enjoy your stay here at this park or have a nice time driving by.

Very beautiful and inexpensive outing. There lots to do, good food in the area, and kind people all about.

Showers work on tokens, plenty of hot water, but sometimes the shower heads shoot at all angles and at full pressure! But love the park and everything else!

Its closed, makes no sense. Other State Parks are open

It was great! The only downer was the massive amount of bird poo! Most of the park staff was friendly. Just make sure you park in designated areas for overflow or youll get warnings posted on your vehicle!

Very clean and super friendly staff. The park was funded by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a true model of the CCC. A reminder that putting people to work puts disposable income in their pockets -- the fuel of every successful economy.

This is a quiet park. The sea otters are fun to watch. The seagulls and the squirrels act like they are starving but you can tell they eat well. This is a pla e to find quiet time for self.

All state parks in California were supposed to have a visitors center / museum to give the history of the local area where the campground is. This park has one and the museum is fabulous it is free with campground stay.Even though all campgrounds were supposed to have one this is one of only three built in the state.

Morro Bay is one of the most relaxing places on Earth. It only takes minutes to understand one can walk down the middle of the street as long as there is no traffic with no problem. Maybe it is a beach vibe but there is lots of retired folks. Im quite in the middle so just be kind and enjoy. Beyond the body vibe the locale is remarkable as long as you are into breathtaking sea views and clean air. if I lived there I would not be inviting you to my special hideaway but since I dont go visit.

Olivas Links mens club have been playing this track religiously for 25 years straight. Its become a tradition with us. Toughest Greens on the planet swear to God if you for putting just once you will be lucky. But its a great course with a great view. We call it the poor mans Pebble Beach. Highly recommended

Great location. Very friendly and helpful rangers and workers. Well kept. Clean. Plenty of facilities including bathrooms and showers. Everything is handicapped accesible. Affordable. Attracts a great crowd of campers. Very family friendly.

If you love Morro Bay and camping this place is for you. Second time for us here and we brought our friends. They always say it was the best trip ever!

Camp grounds level, sites clearly marked. No hook ups, short walk to Morro Bay National history museum costs $3.00 to enter.Shoreline is a short walk away with Ocean.Shoreline lined with pine trees, lots of sandpipers, if you get lucky you can catch sea otters, seals, maybe even catch site of a whale.There are kayaks to rent, a Bayside Cafe if you want to grab a bite.Nice walking, dog friendly.Lots of public restrooms along the trail.

Its beautiful there, lots of creatures to see. Very relaxing watching the sea otters, squirrels and sea gulls. Watching the people surf, the kids and dogs playing.

Hands down our new favorite. The host couple close to where you enter are the nicest most helpful couple a true delight. There isnt a bad site, very clean, new plumbing, great location, just beautiful a true gem. And the front check in workers are very pleasant and helpful as well.

Great play area for the kids but it would be greatly improved with just a couple of shades or awnings.

Good place to look at the ocean and eat fish and chips.

Loved this place! Amazing views of wild life on the water and off. So many different types of birds. Just stumbled across the motel and ended up staying a few more days because it was so relaxing. Will be coming back !! The pool was very relaxing.

This is a very beautiful State Park. Lots of big big trees. Camping, grass, views, just so beautiful. We came in search of butterflies but didnt find any. Had a picnic under the awesome trees. Love this place. Would love to camp here. Sites looked clean and everyone seemed very nice.
