I was fortunate enough to live only 25 minutes away for three years before leaving for the military. Panther Creek State Park is my favorite state park that Ive visited and I made it my goal to hike every trail in the park before leaving Tennessee (which I accomplished). Grateful for all the memories this amazing place has given me and I always make sure to stop by when visiting home. It is one of my favorite places in the world. Id recommend Ridgecrest trail to anyone who only has a few hours there. But if you have more time Id recommend the point lookout trail and Maple arch trail as well. Absolutely beautiful. The biking trails here are also great as well as kayaking off the parks coasts and inlets. Tennessee at its best, and a state park at its best.

Panther Creek is a great park if youre looking for a beautiful scenic place to hike. You can see Cherokee Lake from several spots along the trail and the lake is accessible if you needed a dip along the way.

Nice stopping spot east of Knoxville. Easy access to I 81. I 40 on the other hand required a bit of congested driving. The park was nice. Sites were a bit tight but mine was long enough for the trailer and tv. The camp store is closed through Wednesday so if you need ice bring it with you. Bathrooms were clean. There is access to a lake and trails to hike. Overall I prefer more woods and more space. Thats why I gave it a 3 star rating.

We had a great time kayaking there. The parks main entrance/area has all you need for a picnic, or a good hike with friends and family. But we went to the boat ramp to do some kayaking.

I went here with my two year old not even knowing there was a nice playground right before the trails. We each had something to enjoy and we spend 4 hours here and the time flew by! There is so much space to roam around and plenty of trails to walk/run/cycle on.

This is a beautiful park just hour and 15 minutes from West knoxville. Multiple trails with beautiful view as reward in the end. Some trails are not marked adequately, but its a good practice for a backcountry trek. They are not long to get lost. Fellow hikers are friendly. The staff at the office is also great.

I have been spending time in Panther Creek park for years now. There are many trails to hike going to various locations of interest like sinkholes and ridges with overlooks of the lake. The campground is quite cozy and setup with useful amenities. The rangers are generally easy to get along with and friendly. Highly recommended for families with children. The playground is top notch and there is a pool area open during the summer months.

A great place for day hikes for the entire family. Plenty of picturesque locations and trails kids can handle. We went when the water was really low in the lakes, which made it actually more fun for the kids! They have several nice bathroom areas and picnic spots as well. The kids enjoyed the playground also!Looks like they do a great job of putting on weddings - they were setting up a wedding spot that overlooked the lakes and it looked amazing! We saw several families at different pavilions - one group was having a birthday party, and the other was a family reunion. Looks like the perfect place for both!

The best park around here. The scenery is great. Theres a play ground for children. Theres a camp ground. You can hike. Wide life to see if theres no loud cars. The creek is pretty clean. Kids love to get in it. And without COVID the pool is usually open. The only negative thing is the teens absouletly fly through there in theyre cars and no park rangers are watching. And the playground equipment could use a complete overhaul. Its just old and worn.

I couldnt decide on 4 or 5 stars.. I would have given 5 stars for the awesome trails that were everywhere but really only 3 or 4 for the small campsites. The bathrooms were super great though with new tile, showers and heated so that was a tremendous plus. Its not a very big campground and most campers had RVs. I had a tent and really enjoyed my stay but mainly for the beautiful trails that me and my dog could enjoy.
