Madonna Peak Hike through Sterling Pond via Long Trail - I am writing a review of a hike I did using the Long Trail that starts at Smugglers Notch parking lot, takes the path to Sterling Pond and after that you continue on Long Trail for another mile and ~ 1,000 vertical feet to get to the peak. The trail itself is simply to follow and will give you a heck of a work out. However it is totally worth it as you will be able to see Sterling Pond followed by a rather empty mountain (during summer months) with views that go on for hundreds of miles. You can see everything from the top including Canada, New Hampshire and White Mountains, New York and the Adirondacks. This is a wonderful hike that is easy to follow by staying on Long Trail. Bring a lunch and enjoy the views from the top of Madonna Peak.
Wow... worth the trip
Steep glades, gorgeous views, great conditions. Slow chairlift though, but great fun overall!
Madonna is nasty mountain to ski down. Even though that photo is of Sterling mtn.
Its almost impossible to have a bad day on this mountain!
Amazing view
