Not crowded. Play equipment is in good condition and very entertaining for children. Has nice picnic pavilions as well as a bike and walking path. There are bathrooms, and a good parking.
A wonderful family park with outdoor resources, solid construction in the playground areas, and abundant activities. Definitely will return!
Very nice clean park . Live close by . My wife and I walk our dog in your park . We enjoy our visit when there.Lanny and Rebecca Rosslross43236 @aol.com
The Greenway along the river is great for walking and biking. The playgrounds and ball fields are magnificent, bathrooms and the picnic pavilions are clean and spacious.
Beautiful area! Picnic tables, volleyball, greenway access, events, etc. My personal favorite spot is the disc golf course. Its a very forgiving and open course. Great for trying out new throws and discs. Ideal for practicing distance shots. One of the gems that Morganton has to offer!
Nice, open disc golf course. Holes are long for beginners, but bad throws dont kill the fun.
Awesome park. Large playgrounds with wheelchair accessible equipment. Access to a beautiful greenway that goes by the river. Bonus! There is an replica of a Native American home site. The park also houses Beanstalk zip line park and many ball fields. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.
Kids love it there is alot to play on.
Terrific baseball facility. $8 each to watch. Areas are not marked where you are allowed to sit due to covid. Yet staff condescending and hateful if you sit where youre not supposed too. No ADA facilities at the ballfields.
Love going there with my grandchildren. They can play there all day long. Excellent walking path with bike riding also. Start at one end and on the other end is two great resturants.
This park is a wonderful place to take your family so that they wont be stuck with their face in front of a screen all day long. The only issue is that, because of the age of the playground, there is a lot of parts that have started to break down so to speak. Otherwise, a great family friendly place!
Absolutely wonderful place!!!! Very clean and accessible for everyone.
Beautiful views and quiet with easy accessible walking trails
Very fun disc golf course, along with a great playground for kids.
Relaxing place to walk in. Huge playground and obstacle course with bridges you can pay to play on.
Great place for time with family.
Great place to watch baseball games
My family and I were very impressed on what we had to enjoyed. We were passing by the highway and decided to go to a park for the kids. It was the best decision I made that day. Its amazing how much the kids and the parents can do in this park. Highly recommend it. Thank you so much for this park.
Catawba Meadows is part of the park system in Morganton that has access to the Catawba River greenway. There are picnic shelters, Disc Golf course, and a playground as well. Great place to go for the day. On weekends it is difficult to get a place in the picnic shelter though as they get reserved or taken rather quickly.
Great place for a birthday party in a pandemic
Just a cool place,, most was closed when we went.
Great park, many pokestops
We went for a picnic...sat under a tree, eating in the car.
Love this place always have its on the river always
Took the kids here and my oldest has a blast.
Great place to bring your kids, and the entire playground is wheel chair accessible!
Awesome park, gigantic play area, volleyball courts, covered tables and walking trail. Big bathroom facilities and parking for a hundred + cars!
An amazing asset for a small city. The ball parks are well kept, bathrooms clean, staff friendly . Lots of parking. The Catawba river flows adjacent to the park. Their is disk golf, camping for major events (red, white and blue festival) volleyball courts, large pavilions, community gardens, a replica Indian wigwam and an awesome large rope and climbing themed playground for dozens of children to enjoy. A private company runs a tree top canopy adventure Park (Beanstalk Journey) for a fair price. The park is quite when away from the playground. One can fish, kayak, ride bikes, and much more. Top notch park
Clean, well maintained park with an excellent playground for smaller children and an AMAZING Zipline setup for the bigger kids (and kids at heart). They also feature a very nice Disc Golf course. Several large shade trees to sit under when you need to beat the heat. Two (that I know of) very large picnic shelters capable of hosting/seating a very large crowd for a family gathering, birthday party, awards ceremony, etc. You must check on reservations. Overall, Catawba Meadows Park is a gem in Burke County. A very rock solid from this reviewer, who happens to be from Caldwell County.
Great disc golf course. Best in the area. Restrooms need some attention, but other than that the park was in beautiful shape. Great play area for the little ones but no baby swings (or I didnt look hard enough).
It so fun Im 12
Excellent stop on sunny day for kids, pets & family
Great place for gatherings and it has a really nice playground for kids and Disc Golf.
Very sturdy play ground. Not afraid to join grand daughter playing. Grandma jumped right in too. Auntie was in on it as well.
Nice long greenway along a river. Nice place to take dogs for a long walk.
This is a beautiful park. Multiple covered areas for family and friends to gather and eat. Good places for kids to play. Also has an awesome zip-line area. Had everything from baseball field to a large walking trail to a disc golf course.
Very family friendly! Clean, spacious, and one of my favorite places!
Softball practice on one of many fields.
Great for kids and seniors. Clean, well kept premises.restrooms available. Picnic shelters and playground, plus tennis and Ball or soccer areas, walking and biking trails. No threatening adults or dangerous gang activity seen and I am there often.
The rope park brings the best out of our young one!
Great park. Awesome playground for the kiddos. The disc golf course is great for all skill levels.
Love this park, when I lived there a few time years ago there was just baseball fields where this park is now. The park is a great addition for families and people traveling, and there is so much to do many choices.
A variety of activities on one place for children and adults. This park is connected to walking trails, it has a picnic area and bathrooms. Park includes a ramp and swings for children with disabilities.
My kids (and mine!) favorite park! My kids have nicknamed it Castle Treehouse Park!! We definitely love this place.
Awesome place to spend an hour or a whole day. Beautiful location. Clean facilities. Plenty of family space.
Nice place to walk or ride your bike. It is ~ 4 miles in length. It is not a loop so you do have to backtrack. But there is parking at both ends. It is paved the entire length and bathrooms are available.
Fun outing.
Catawba Meadows has quite a bit to offer! There are baseballs fields, a sand spot with a Volleyball net, 2 covered areas for a large group cookout, a wonderfully large play area for children, a zip line and a 18 hole (or basket) Disc Golf course! As you walk the disc golf course you can see a paved walking track/ bicycle path and it runs along a river. This park stays pretty busy, even on a Sunday afternoon. We play on the Disc Golf course and it is maintained very well. Its used in Tournaments as well. Nice
Beautiful place and its fun for the whole family had my wedding here
We were there for the Red, White and Blue Festival. The park seemed like a great place for anytime. The festival was lightly attended but the bluegrass was fantastic #Newtown.
Super place for anyone to visit. Children are having a blast there. Laughter is in the air at CMP
No grills I guess its BYOG. Kids love the play area and great walking trails.
This is a great park, definitely something for everyone. Disc golf, baseball, playgrounds, dog watering stations, zip lines and more. A real asset to the City of Morganton.
Our daughter loved it. Great atmosphere.
Nice 18 hole frisbee golf course. Excellent playground. Nice riverside walk. Many ball fields. The ziplines are not bad, but are a bit pricey and only available 3 times per day with advanced bookings. You cannot just show up and use them.
This Park had the best playground in the area. Our kids love cooking here and climbing all over the structure. So do I for that matter. The path is really nice for biking, too. Theres a disc golf course, and the high ropes course for more fun, and so many ball fields.
Awesome park with loads of space and lots of activities to choose from. Really nice play areas
Catawba meadows park was wonderful. But the 4th of July festival held there this passed week was terrible. There was no bluegrass except for 2 bands. False advertising and my family was asked where we were from and since we were from out of town we were told that the festival was for the locals and we did not get a say about what happened. The park was amazing but the event that was held there was not. There is great camping though. My family have been going to the festival there since 2008. No matter what happened we have been there.
Very Nice Park With A Zip line And A Wide Selection Of Playgrounds
Had a wonderful experience there, however it is a real struggle for older people to walk to the restrooms. It would be so helpful for there to be port-a-johns located closer to the ball fields.
Great place for family and fun. Play in the park or go for a walk. Bring your bikes. Can grill out. Very cool, special needs accessible playground.
Love the equipment, family had fun, room for everyone, not just a few ppl.
Babysitted some kids & they LOVED the park! Im too old to play on it by the way the kids were smiling, they were having fun! Ever since they added the rope obstacle course, zipline & etc, a lot of kids love it
Amazing place for the young ones and usually not so crowded with mexicans like the other parks
Beautiful place to go,
Beautiful trails to walk and bike down by the river. Several places to fish from also. The greenway trails are paved but they also have a dedicated mountain bike trail to ride.
Beautiful park, always kept in top condition. Never see any trash on the ground. Its apparent that this park is well funded. The only problem is have is with the air quality. The park is surrounded by 5 big factories. There is a local metal working factory about 3 miles away which blows smog down stream towards the park and during working hours the air quality is absolutely terrible. Very strong smell of a toxic soup of metal smelting stuff. Not advisable to visit the park during working hours or anytime that damn factory is churning out fumes.
The kids loved it. Wish we had one in Lexington, SC.
My employer gave us a family fun night here. It was great. But I have toke grandkids and my dog here and good place for all ages.
Best park in town.
Nice ballparks.
Great place to walk your. Dog or just relax
Best playground ever. My fifth star was almost withheld since there are no BBQ grills at the picnic areas but that doesnt really affect the playground. Clean public restrooms are on site and covered picnic areas are adjacent. Lots to do and a great place for a kids party.
This is my favorite course to disc golf at in the area. I highly enjoy the B.A.D Disc golf club that plays here. Right now is the most beautiful that I have ever seen the course.
What a lovely park! The modified zip line for the kiddies was an awesome ride even for us adults! LOL
A really AWESOME place to walk. Hubby and my favorite place. Thank you
Great place but the pavilion my job rented was double booked. So halfway through our event another party came and set up . That was a bummer
Beautiful, well-maintained park. The Beanstalk ziplines are fun for all ages.
This is a great park and the Greenway trail is awesome
I am a little upset they didnt erect that new bomb playground when I was a kid but I got some great enjoyment after hours!
Beautiful setting. The Red White and Bluegrass festival is a treasure. It should be expanded instead of being cut back. Go back to Bluegrass only, it could rival Merle Fest....there are many people who work and volunteer each year with the knowledge and experience on how to make this happen. Use your resources wisely.
This park is absolutely amazing. I have never seen anything like it. Endless things for children and adults. It is not your typical park. It is your typical park times a million. I also loved that they had plenty of wheelchair accessible activities for the children who may need to use them so that they are able to enjoy the park with everyone else. I am 24 and I feel like a kid when I step onto this spectacular playground. It is also very clean and all the equipment is in very good condition. Even the bathrooms get a five star. I love telling people about this park, it is a great conversation starter on things to do.
Great playground. My son loved the zip line swing. Enjoy going here when we are in town.
