I had the brisket burnt ends--they melted in my mouth. They were outstanding. The only other disappointment was the breaded mushrooms--they were definitely ho-hum. If you really like mushrooms dont bother. All things considered I think Woodys is a very welcome addition to the Moreno Valley restaurant scene. We will definitely return.
This was my first time to Woodys, and I have to say it was pretty damn good. Went for lunch and there wasnt too bad of a wait. The restaurant was clean and everyone was very pleasant. Although there is a lunch buffet, we opted for the Cuban, and pulled pork sandwiches. Both were fantastic. We also ordered cocktails and a hazy IPA. Cocktail was STRONG and fantastic (much appreciated) and the IPA was also fantastic. Next time Ill go for dinner, so I can try something different. There is also live music at night. There is also bar seating, but the set up is done nicely. TVs are set up the walls out of sight from the rest of the restaurant. Its nice not to have to have sports playing unless you want to watch them. This is recommended for anyone in the area, plus its always nice to support a local, small business!
The family and I attended Woodys on a Saturday evening, unaware they have live music playing. On this night it was Motown, which was fantastic! For starters we had burnt ends as an appetizer. My wife tried the sliders which was amazing because it allowed her to try 3 small versions of various burgers already on the menu. She loved them! I tried the sampler. Believe it or not, even though the BBQ was delicious, my favorite part of the meal was the damn coleslaw! I dont eat coleslaw, but I loved their coleslaw! The only knock Id give Woodys is nothing big, but I feel like they havent decided what to do with the room immediately to the right as you enter. The rest of the restaurant has a cool vibe; white table cloths and black napkins with a big bar and a stage for music.
This place offers a nuance to Moreno Valley by brewing their own beer and pairing them beautiful with their food. I was there today and I had the Milk Stout that they probably won’t have again, it was definitely a great batch, medium bold flavor with notes of coffee. Their bruschetta was generously proportioned and had a eel balance taste between the tomato and cheese.Hope y’all stop by!
Had my bday celebration here last week. Wonderful time! My entire party goers were happy! I was allowed to decorate which added that extra touch. The employees !!!! ANGELS! Thank you Coco, Kelly, Fresh, Tony, the band, Wayne the owner and all that was there from the start to the end. Specially on January 18 yawl worked that place!
Tony is the man! the food and drinks were excellent!
My boyfriend saw this place online and told me about it... So, we both wanted to try it and ordered food to go. I ordered the brisket combo that comes with cornbread, coleslaw, and beans. When i looked inside it didnt look like much food for the price of $19. When trying everything it was actually okay. The cornbread had a little sweetness to it, as well as, the red beans. It was pretty good! The coleslaw was good and brisket was good to, however, It didnt have that smokey taste like i was hoping for but it was still good. Overall, i would rate this place a 3 star, because its bit pricey and the food is average..
Great atmosphere, great service. Chips and dip were fantastic. Jalapeño burger was not Massive (thats a good thing). Very tasty. Band was really good too!
Food is good. Service is excellent. Our server Ashley was on top of everything. The man where the food is being cooked answers your questions nicely when asking about the food. The place is clean. My only complaint which wasnt a big deal is they put a bunch of people behind us who were a little loud but not over bearing. The prices are reasonable for what we had. Which was the buffet with ribs, brisket, chicken wings, salad, veggies, and sweet yams.
Food is good but the service was awful. We sat at the bar and there was 3 of us and the waitress only took the food order of two of us and walked away. We asked for water and only one of us got water, the other two had to wait 30 minutes for water, once we got our food. No refills of water. Beer tasters are 4 for$10 thier hazy beer was awful but thier tangerine IPA was good. Oh yeah we only got one set of silverware and napkin. They didnt have a beer list and after being closed 2 days for the holidays the bar area had nats.
Theres a lot of friendly staff that work there, the service was decent, a quiet place to eat. The atmosphere is casual/upscale casual A nice place to dine alone, or to bring friends. But also for professionals and for business meetings. I dont think its appropriate for small children. They open at 11:00am to 12 midnight, during the hours between 11:00 to 2:00 they have a buffet. Or you can order off the menu. Before a live band comes they play the best music over the speakers chosen by the owner. Its easy listening, relaxing also the play.. sade, prince, fleet wood Mac, to name a few. At evening time its more upscale casual and dressy. Plenty of tables with white linen Tablecloths and a live band through out the week starting at 5:30, 6:30, or 7:00pm depending on which night. they also have a dance floor.
Was just there and sat for quite awhile with no menu or service. Waitresses were all standing around talking, ignoring us. Music good. We finally just got up and left after not being recognized at all.
I rate place a big fat 0. This place needs to close down. The service is terrible. The waitress never came back to check if everything was ok after serving our plates. The food was tasteless, not cooked right. The live entertainment was very enjoyable. My husband and I will not come back.
Our waitress was Allison, she happened to be a new employee to Market Broiler. While waiting for our chowder to arrive I was able to watch the chef do some serious grilling on the opposite side of a large window that looks into part of the dinning area.I truly enjoyed the ambience of Market Broiler because it gave me the feel of dinning at one of my favorite beach areas in Santa Cruz.
I usually love Mom and Pop restaurants but I think they should change the name to roaches because this place has an obvious infestation. You could smell the heavy roach residue in the air upon walking into the restaurant. The owner should really take care of this problem. I am surprised the health department hasnt shut this place down. If you go to this place of filth just know youll get extra protein and at know extra charge via Roaches Reserve.
The man where the food is being cooked answers your questions nicely when asking about the food. The place is clean. My only complaint which wasnt a big deal is they put a bunch of people behind us who were a little loud but not over bearing. The prices are reasonable for what we had. Chips and dip were fantastic. Jalapeño burger was not Massive (thats a good thing). Very tasty. Band was really good too!
I went in the afternoon. The food from the all you can eat was not good at all. The ribs taste boiled, the other food tasted pain.
Great atmosphere! Very attentive staff! Live band was awesome!
I was impressed about the decor and easyAccess to the location of the restaurant.Plenty of parking. I had the buffet and it was excellent. I do mean excellent. The only draw back to me is there was no dessert. But I was completely satisfied, even with out the dessert. The gospel group LBC was top notch. I was pleasantly surprised on how long the set was. All in all I had a wonderful day the Lord provided me. Nobody left early.I will definitely return again.
First time that I have ever felt invisible. Asked the hostess up front if I could sit at the bar and she was the last employee there that seemed to be able to see me. Sat down at the bar, thirsty and hungry. Employees seemed too busy chatting with each other to wait on me. I sat down at 6:25 PM, gave it 10 minutes and gave up. The place wasnt busy at all and had plenty of staff. Pretty disappointed as I had already researched their beers and was ready to order when I came in.
My wifes sister took us to this brew pub. The food and service was excellent. You can order from the menu or you can try the buffet. We ordered from the menu. I ordered the grilled salmon which was excellent. My wife and her sister ordered the brisket. Very tender, but not as moist as they would have liked. My wifes sister friend ordered the ribs that were fall off the bone delicious. As I said excellent food and brew at a fair price.
Had the Smokehouse sampler: Brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. All very delicious. The BBQ sauce that came with the meal was off putting in taste so our server brought a different sauce. A much better sauce and it complimented the meats. The mini cornbread loaf was dry and tasted like it was a mix, not made from scratch. The coleslaw and BBQ beans were good. Had the cheesecake for dessert. Delicious! There was live jazz music that was very enjoyable. We will go again in the future.
Very nice, cool lil spot in M.V. The live band was awesome. The youngster who performs the James Brown collection was all that!! The wings could have been cooked through n through...but, I just popped them in the microwave. The spinach artichoke dip is surely something to go back for. The guy who served us had dimples and was polite and handsome....and that made the moscato that much more sweeter!!
Wonderful atmosphere and great service.
First time at Woodys. Good service, good food. Ample portions. Good menu selections. They have a lunch buffet as well. Bar service Availability. Overall a very nice Moreno Valley eatery.
Four of us went in for lunch. Arrived at 11:45, ordered four salads. Waited until 12:40 and had to leave without being served as we had to get back to work at 1. Asked server what was going on at 12:30 and she said they would be out. Nothing at 12:40 so we had to leave without getting served our food. Will not be back ever again.
Well, we went there wanting to love it. That building has been vacant for so many years and we were thrilled to finally have a nice restaurant back in it. The wine was good, the oldies music was great. But, the food was mediocre at best. It was smoked but nearly tasteless. My Ribeye looked, felt and tasted like a New York strip steak and was badly overcooked. The asparagus spears were also over cooked. My friend had the Smoked Sampler and it too was over cooked. His corn bread consisted of one teeny cupcake-like piece of bread that was hard as a brick bat. I dont think I have EVER seen cornbread made like that. The portions are good size but, the meal with 2 glasses of wine cost $79.00. I was SO disappointed for that amount of money. All I can say is go try it and form your own opinion. Maybe it will get better with time.
The food is delicious!! The atmosphere is great. Try the house cheesecake it is amazing.
Had the lunch buffet. Everything tasted fine...not great but not bad. The layout of the buffet needs some adjusting as it is a little awkward getting your food. Service was good and atmosphere is nice.
The service is very slow. The buffet is not good at all cold food ribs are tasteless except for the pre bottled bbq sauce dumped on them the brisket supposedly smoked for 11 hours had no smoke ring or had even had the littlest taste of smoke flavor freaking sorry excuse for bbq Mac and cheese literally has canned nacho cheese for the cheese lol. Just avoid the buffet unless you just want to eat salad.
Live music! Great food! Attentive service with a smile! The environment / atmosphere though okay for families is geared more towards adults and couples. There is a separate room that can be reserved for birthday parties or other group functions. Service is prime there too.I would definitely recommend Woodys Restaurant. Whether you want the buffet or to place an order from their menu, you will be impressed by the tenderness of their beef and barbeque chicken and the quality of their sides. There is a bar as well.
We decided to stop by and see what replaced PH woods. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Delicious food as well. One of my biggest problems with places were you have to be served is the service between the waiter and customer. Im sorry to say that first our food was extremely delayed because the cook was new and had to redo our meals. After we were done of course we wanted to pay and leave. It took Iover 35min for the waitress to bring the bill by this time my arms were crossed and I was burning my 7yr old bugging to go home and still waiting. This whole time Im watching the waitress at the bar very attentive to everyone there. I get it, maybe the tips are better there . However, if u have customers outside the bar please give them the same attention. This experience was all about waiting for long periods of time. Sorry to say i wasnt to generous with the tip.
Tasty food and house brewed draft beer, an excellent place to go!There’s Live Music 3 nights a week too, including Motown on Saturday night. Better reserve early for that.Happy hour specials from 3to 6 make Woody’s easier on the budget and did I mention the food is tasty. We tried the blue mussels, chicken skewers, popcorn shrimp, fish and chips, baked potato, and the wheat with orange and citrus beer that Woody brews in house. All were fantastic. We had the portabella mushroom sandwich and the turkey burger on an earlier visit and that brought us back.We will be back to try some of the entrees next time. Try it, you’ll like it at Woody’s.
Very fun atmosphere. Live jazz music. Upscale feel. Good was good, not great.
Food not good at all,, I got the ribs they were fatty no sauce no flavor. I sent them back they sent out the same thing again fatty greasy no flavor meat.,the, beans were burned over cooked coleslaw was nasty,, wife ordered fish and chips the fish and chips have no flavor also,,, my wife rated her meal #4,, I rated mine a 1 out of 10,,,, music wasnt bad.
As a chef I am really picky and choosy where I go out to eat. But today we stopped by Woodys restaurant and i have to say the food was awesome smoked brisket just melted the live music great wow the rest you need to come and find out for your self .I am sure I will be back with my family and friends, thank you for an awesome evening .
Wow. A local BBQ buffet...and its actually GOOD! official member of the clean plate club!
This is the coolest welcoming, good food, live band spot that I have been to in a long time. Our waitress CoCo was amazing. This is now one of my new feel good places. Did I mention Woody mingles with everyone and makes sure you have a great experience.
The waitress was very attentive and the food was great when it finally got there. We were a party of 6 and it took over an hour to receive our food and there were only 6 tables full and 3 waitresses 2 tables came after us. I would hate to see what happens when they get busy
No hostess. Bad and ridiculously small overpriced buffet. Boiled ribs no gravy... No posting outside that there would be gospel band so was not expecting that at all. Should have be notice outside. Bad service...had to chase waitress down TWICE to get check THEN it was the wrong check!!! Asked about Veteran discount and she said next time ask her beforehand!!! No next time. Horrible experience.
Ive only tried the Bar. The bartender seemed like a great person to start small talk with. Very polite and recommended me a great beer. Definitely a great place to go for a drink.
This is the second and last time we will eat here. The first time, the food was not great (over cooked steak), but server was friendly so we decided to try again. Our party ordered three burgers. I ordered medium. The food took an unreasonable amount of time to arrive (restaurant had 4 tables with guests so it wasn’t busy) and all three burgers were very dry. The medium was cooked to well. The buns were disproportionate to the patty and stale. The BBQ burger had a small spread of sauce- barely enough to taste. The server never came to ask us how the meal was. One person ate half their burger, the other two had about two bites, basically leaving the entire meal on the plate. When the server came over to deliver the check, she didn’t even ask if there was an issue with the food. The place was mostly empty and the food is the reason. It’s too bad, because they have live music and we need better dining in this city, but Woodys isn’t it.
Bomb food, super cool service. $12.99 all you can eat buffet, with some super bomb food. They have a stage and tons of room. Even the outdoor area is comfy.
The food was very good. Service was very good as well. I enjoyed the live music. Recommend to make reservation if going on Saturday Motown set.
This place is amazing!!! Food and service was great! Would recommend the lunch buffet has ribs that are so tender they fall off the bone! Good work Woodys!
Thank you for serving military on their assigned duty weekends. Very kind to open your doors to them.
Do not order from the menu, you will be waiting forever for your food, service, even water. Their signature product is their buffet where you serve yourself. Dont get me wrong, the place is really nice, they just need to get more proficient with their menu items.
My grandson said the burgers were good. My daughter didnt I Ike her shrimp and my prime rib was over cooked and tasteless even after they gave me a second one.
The only thing good about this place was the live music when I got there last night I waited dam near 20 min before I was acknowledged then finally I was noticed by one of the waitress finally got seated I had made reservations the night before when I arrived the waitress couldnt find me so she just seated me, the waitress was nice she helped me I had reserved a table for two but when my boyfriend got there, we had two wait along time for our food finally got the food was warm almost cold the service there was horrible upon arriving the workers there just looked at me and kept walking I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone with that kind of customer service me and my boyfriend will not be coming back there he and I were very disappointed with this place. As a courtesy when making a reservation over the phone, its only right to contact the customer to confirm the reservation, then arriving and finding out that the reservations were never made.hopefully in the near future this place will get better and make the customer fill welcomed and comfortable. Im upset because I spent almost 100.00 dollars on food that was served almost cold and bad customer service only one waitress was nice the others werent when I ordered some appitizers the lady said heres your order and kind of threw it on the table worst place ever staff needs to be retrained on customer service I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE OR MY FAMILY
The food was not good. Cooks eating when they should be cooking. Cooks licking their hands while preparing food. Overall service was ok but bartenders should make drinks, not waitresses!
My friend used to work here, kitchen has roaches and kitchen also has health hazards, not to mention the guy running it is extremely unfair to his employees, theres also a video on facebook of roaches crawling on cutting boards
This restaurant really needs to hire better bartender .
Honestly I go to woodys almost once or every other week with my coworkers the owner super cool but his bartenders totally rude and snobby. HIRE BETTER BARTENDERS N SERVICERS. Attitude is everything in a restuarant n not a time fails where I feel bothered by how we get attented. But the beer is fire. And I like the happy hr price with my club card lol.
This place adds roaches onto your dinner for extra flavor. Too many roaches.
Great music! The bartenders suck, the drinks were garbage straight watered downed! We waited almost 2 hours just to get our food, they are all over the place, taking orders and never getting your food.. finally a young waiter came and took the orders right.. Big shout out to Anthony he was a big help on us getting our food. Chicken and cold slaw, brisket, chicken wings were delicious.. Ive given a couple of months before I try them again
Order off the menu. The buffet was just ok. Not worth the $20. My wife had the seafood pasta and said it was really good. The buffet had the same food on the line from the time we got there till we left. Some of it was cold, some of it was crusty and some was just old. Music was nice. Wait staff was pleasant. They are working out some wrinkles, so Im sure once they are truly up and going, it will be nice.
Glad to see this location back in business. Atmosphere was great. Live 3 piece band. Surprised me for a Monday night. Food was good. Our server, Anthony L. Made the night very enjoyable. Quddos to him.
Very good atmosphere with great music. The staff is alway very polite and helpful. Wish we had more places like Woods in Moreno Valley.
Nice place the atmosphere is great. I brought my mom here for her birthday. Nice staff reat food and the band was awesome!
The best BBQ in town. Great beer. Awesome entertainment on the weekends.
Took a really long time to get the food and it was kinda cold and not worth waiting all that time for. Servers and staff are friendly. Great place overall. Just need to work on getting the food out
Fabulous, as always, a wonderful experience. The owner is very personable and greets his guests with a friend liness and congeniality like no other. Serving staff is the best!
Very nice atmosphere. Will be back
The bathroom was dirty prices to high no live band, waiter rushed us out asking if anyone was eating from the buffet when half of our party odered buffet food was nasty just q waste of time should of went to Applebees not to mention it was freezing thermostat at 67 degrees
Nice place, and the food was excellent. LIVE music every day. The rib eye steak was very tasty. We will come back.
All the food was great. Great music. Loved the band. Is a bit hard to conversate in the main room. Did enjoy
The sweet potato fries with the maple glaze were absolutely fantastic. My burger was perfectly cooked medium and the mushroom aoli was really tasty. Service was good and my water didnt stay empty for more than 3 minutes. Will eat here again!
Nice atmosphere. AMAZING live jazz! Will definitely be going back.
1st. time there. Nice place, good servers and a pretty decent menu. Menu ranges from appetizers to burgers to BBQ meals. The food was good, atmosphere was pleasant and I enjoyed it. Just trendy enough.
Beef not drown in sauce, but tender and smokey. Service is fantastic. Live jazz music made the meal that much better
The gospel show was great. The food was good and plenty could have been a little warmer.
I am a fan. I was trying to advertise and support...Met someone today with a service complaint. I love this place, but I cant advertise if the servic is not there. Get the service together and this is a great place. Especially for a mature crowd.
Disappointment. Waited a long time for the waiter to come by the table. Food is not great and expensive. I give the drinks a 5 star. Maybe the last time I come here.
Mango pineapple wheat beer was amazing
Went to Woodys two Saturdays in a row. The food was wonderful! First time we ordered off the menu..its was very good...second time the buffet..I still cant stop thinking of the brisket ..it was tender and flavorful..the ribs were fall off the bone ..excellent! I really enjoyed the band and the servers were friendly and looked like they enjoyed their job. I will be back! Only one suggestion..the food at the buffet to be kept warmer..other than that I just wish I had two stomachs..lol. Great Spot!
We had a blast at Woodys and the music was perfect but the main attraction was the young guitarist that stole the show. This young cat is talented and we will see him on a bigger stage soon.
The food at the buffet was delicious. Chicken was tender, roast beef was juicy and the ribs fell off the bone
Great fine restaurant, fantastic beer, geat appetizers, great food, excellent jazz music, very friendly service team . We need to keep places like this restaurant in these area.
Good food, nice atmosphere, owner Wayne was very welcoming and put us at ease immediately. Will patronize this establishment again
Good environment GRAET music good food and friendly staff...i will be back
Absolutely the best brewhouse Ive ever been to, and Ive been to plenty across the country. Brisket is smoked for 11 hours to perfection, homemade BBQ sauce is amazing. The honey blonde brew is my go to, but samples of other brews are available. This is my familys no place to eat, with live music, terrific food, and awesome brew this place is number 1 in Moreno Valley!
Beer sucked. I had a German pilsner and I can still taste it. I left half and walked out. It was very hot and stuffy a d pretentious. If you want a craft beer go elsewhere.
Moreno Valley just got an upgrade! This is going to be the benchmark place to go for many years to come. Visit now and see how the combination of great food and great beer in a classy setting is Woodys signature experience.
This place is legit, loved the shrimp and scallop pasta Alfredo I got, and the German pilsner is my favorite. It actually tastes like a pilsner, which I totally miss after traveling from Europe. BBQ pork ribs fall off the bone. Will definitely be coming back.P.S.They give you a pretty sweet brownie sundae for your birthday
Amazing beer great prices wonderful customer service. Family feel.
Absolutely a wonderful place. Got to meet the owner. Great guy himself.
Great place to come and enjoy music and fine dining for a great price if you don’t like it here you just don’t like enjoying yourself at great restaurants!!! One of my favorite spots in the IE hands DOWN!!!!
Me and my mom just had lunch there it was great and the manager Roland was amazing had an awesome attitude and personality very friendly when Ive talked to all the gas helped his servers he was awesome I would go back
Highly recommend! The food is delicious, and very affordable. The lunch buffet includes a salad bar, brisket, mac & cheese, tiramisu, and more. A Moreno Valley must have.
I went and will never take wife and family there again unlike a real Gentleman Woody the owner himself Was totally rude and disrespectful He approached my wife one we walked inside of his establishment paid me the man of the family no attention put his hands on her shoulder rubbed her arm got close in her face I try to look at it as maybe something else did not quite know try to give it the benefit of the doubt But once we were seated at a table he came to the table and continue to ignore me putting his hands again on my wifes arm and then I told him why are you not acknowledgingly me a man at the table and you keep touching my wife he then responded to me and said maybe this is not the place for you if you do not like it I am the owner I will never go there or advise anyone to take their beautiful wife or lady to this mans place he is rude no gentleman no man and very disrespectful in another time or another place someone may popped him in the nose for something like that Not a professional
We were told that unless we ordered full meals-we were not allowed to dance ! We were having appretizers and cocktails. We left.
