Loved the old Rheem Theatre for the nostalgia but it had gotten pretty shabby over the years. The remodel under new ownership is amazing! They did a perfect job of blending the traditional with modern and their comfortable leather recliners, classy looking interior, huge screens and amazing sound make the Rheem Theatre our new #1 go-to place for movies. Will always look to see whats playing there first going forward.

I paid $45 for movie tickets and food which was expected at a movie theater. I know no one can help the prices except the ones who own the theater. Pizza was about $7-8 the pizza came out burnt twice! The first time we could hear the oven go off. I heard the other employee saying to the other ones behind the counter to take it out of the oven. They continued to ignore it. They didn’t tell us the pizza was out. Then we go up to have it remade for the second time. The pizza came out burnt. I would’ve asked for a third new pizza but the movie was about to start. Very frustrating to say the least. They need to keep a closer on the pizzas especially if they don’t know how to keep it in for. I know they may be busy but it only take a second to look at the pizza every few minutes in the oven to make sure it’s not burning. I work in the food industry myself and I understand it can be busy but to knowingly serve burnt pizza twice! I don’t know if there needs to be better training or what.

Excellent local theater. Decent snack bar selection with booze. Stairs could be an issue for some and I didnt see an elevator. Did have a lift for wheelchair/carriers.

Well after many “re-openings” the new ownership group got it right! The new Dolby Atmos sound system is amazing and all new super recliners were 1st class. No more Walnut Creek for movies!

Love our small town theatre - full of charm, character, and cadence of FUN! Great showing of family films on a regular basis—our go to place! And, it’s NOT a big box movie house, yet has all the similar amenities and good people! Supporting our local theatre benefits us all!

They are staffed by really nice people and the main theater is very spacious. We paid extra for reserved reclining seats in the front 4 or 5 rows (seating starts much further back than how older theaters used to set them). Good seats, good sound system and decent popcorn. The only reason I knocked a star off is that several recliners were broken and they were a little hard to operate.

If you live in Moraga, you probably already know and love this wonderful theater. Please support it by watching your films locally. I love the art deco, I love the ambiance, I love the local feel, I love how they promote artistic movies, as much as art events, besides the mandatory Hollywood stuff.

We had a great experience at the New Rheem Theater. The theater was full of leather loveseat couches and side-tables (kind of like a very large home-theater). The movie audio and video were very good, although the screen was on the small side. Again, the seats were awesome and comfortable and makes this a destination theater.

Pretty much the only fun recreational activity Moraga has besides the Discgolf course at the commons. Love the seating its so comfortable! All the high schoolers use it though and due to the fact the seating at the back is just SO comfy, I wonder what the area would look like if you took a black light to it. Yikes!

Review №60

Great little theater. Everyone in Moraga should visit there at least once to get the nostalgic feel of old movie theater. And to find out, most likely surprisingly, how good the picture quality and sound systems are. Not to mention those great, cozy reclining leather chairs in the front available for couple extra buck. Only thing missing is a glass of Lamorindas own Cabernet Sauvignon snd little bit cheese, but maybe one of these days we get that there too.
