We live in Santa Cruz and usually go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium when visiting Monterey. I’m glad we decided to try MY Museum, my 5yo loved it.The museum has really good exhibits, staff is super friendly. And the place is really clean. You will see employees cleaning up and organizing things pretty often. That alone is awesome. The place is very open and has a great flow. A lot of options to keep kids busy and engaged. The creation station was definitely a highlight. They have plenty of good craft materials for kids to let their creativity flow. There’s also a 3 and under area for little ones. And compared to other activities in the area and considering the place looks great, price is fair.
Such a fun and creative place for kids to just be kids! There is space for them to run. There are spaces for them to be creative. There are spaces for their minds to be wondered. We had my daughters birthday party and it was fun for the kids and parents. The kids wiped us out! The crew was always helpful. A very nice place to have a quick party and affordable.
Two boys -4 and 2- had a blast. We came for two days in a row and they never got bored. The craft station was a hit for the 4 year old and the 2 year old loved the 3 hole mini golf course.Bathrooms were perfect for diaper changes too.Well come back next time we have an extended visit. It could use an espresso machine (hint hint).
My kids really enjoy the youth Museum and rightfully so. There is so much to do in such a confined space that they just lose themselves in all there is. It is a great place to take your kids to learn well helping them to burn off some of that energy. The facilities our well kept and the restrooms are clean. I would only suggest they think about putting up another privacy barrier in the mens restroom between the urinal and stall. More privacy is needed when you have lots of kids in and out of the restroom.
Went here with my toddler for a birthday party and was incredibly impressed with how much there was to do! My toddler was a bit too young for most of the activities but the older kids were having a blast. I loved the educational aspect of the play areas. Everything looked clean and together (or as much as can be with kids running around everywhere!) The staff was really nice and they ended the party politely and were very efficient with clean up. If I lived a bit closer I would definitely have my kids party here! Look forward to making this a fun stop when were in the area in the future.
MyMuseum is the perfect place to spend a morning or afternoon with your preschooler or young children! The staff is very friendly, the facility is clean, and they always have something fun going on.Before your visit, check out their weekly online calendar. Throughout the week they have music, art, and science events that are included in admissions.I highly recommend the deluxe family membership because your young kids will want to go back again and again! You also get 2 guest passes included in the deluxe family membership. Before or after your visit to the museum stop off at the East Village Coffee Lounge a few blocks down for amazing coffee, tea, and snacks.
One of the best places on the peninsula to take a young one if you dont have a yard or a lot of space at home. The organization has a great mission, check out their website for more info.
My kids absolutely love coming here to play. Its also a great place for birthday parties . The staff is really helpful. The craft corner and the ambulance are my kids favorite exhibits right now.
This place was a great find for us. I’ll be here for about 4 months for work and this is a 15 min walk from where we’re staying. My daughter is almost 2 and loves coming here during the day with my wife. There is lots for her to explore and she loves running around and playing with the other kids. Staff is always friendly and they keep everything clean.
Great for Monterey! Theres not too many places in town that provide indoor child play areas so its practically gold on cold or rainy days. Parking is tough.
This isnt a museum, but more of an activity center. But, a lot of stuff doesnt work. Plus, they charge parents the same 8 dollars, but its really boring for parents. Why would you charge them so much just to be there as guardians? They get very little out of it. If parents were free or maybe something like half price, Id give another star, but we were there with grandparents too and the total was ridiculous for what the place is.
First time visiting, and this has become a must visit for any time were in the area. This was the most fun our kids have had during our trip, trumping even visiting the aquarium. They loved having the opportunity to run wild, play out their imagination, create, and play with other kids. My partner and I loved the entire visit, and the staff was so friendly, helpful, and were interested in the kids.An absolutely amazing activity, perfect for the cooler weather today.
Kids had a ton of fun, good mix of interesting science-ish fun and just good old fun.
This place was great. Our 15 month old love to play in the entire place. Very Interactive. Friendly staff easy location, parking garage was a block away they also have limited parking right out front the door. They had an entire art area that you can create anything. Me and my husband found ourselves plane with a lot of the exhibits. They also even had miniature golf inside. The only downfall is they didnt offer or sell any snacks or drinks inside. We would love to go back when were in town
Kids loved it! Perfect spot for toddlers for a few hours
Such a fun place to be with the kids. We even enjoyed it with them. They do crafts that they take home which was very fun to make.
Really small place with a lot to do. My kid had a great time! We will definitely be back!
Ideal way to let your kids explore and get their energy out. They will want to interact with friends or with you so its a great environment for learning and fun. There are some central themes about Monterey but mostly your kids will explore and play. The art station displays some favorites from kids and staff. I highly recommend spending all afternoon here!
Renovated bathrooms are clean and inviting. Big change from the past. Always plenty for my kids to do there. And they love making their own art projects.
This place is awesome. They have a full craft area and a huge play area. There is alos a huge stage and even an awesome back room that looks like a legit changing room with tons of different outfits for dress up. The employees are super nice and had a happy and jolly face the whole time we were there. They have a gift area that is super cute. Its a bit pricey but arent all gift shops kinda overpriced? I recommend this places hands down.
Very fun place! We had planned to go to the park but it was a hot day and decided to check this place out instead. My son had a great time and played with kids who were close to his age. It was 8 dollars per person to go there.
Sooooo much fun for my 5 year old. Dramatic play areas really catered to her interests.
We love MY Museum! We bought a membership and go at least once a week. So much fun for all the kids. The creation station is a lot of fun for my older children.
Nice place to allow your kids to let there hair down and just have fun. Theres alot they can do from arts and crafts to playing dress up ECT.
My kids love this place! Friendly staff, clean facility.
Great place for kids 2-8 to play. I wish I could see a staff member walking around sanitizing toys (especially in the toddler area). It would be nice if they could have a rotating exhibit that changes every 3-6 months.
My grandson enjoyed his time there. I thought the name was a little misleading as it only offered a few interactive activities. If your looking for an indoor playground for young children that is safe from inclement weather, this might be for you.
This is a fun and well - kept childrens museum, although it is on the small side. The staff are helpful and friendly, and its always clean and tidy. I would say its best for children aged 1 to 8, but even my 14 year old enjoys going because she likes to make fun things in the craft area. Memberships are very affordable and get you a good discount on parties, but if you go too often, your children over 4 or 5 will get bored with the limited exhibits. Parking is not the cheapest at the public garage up the street, but there is free parking around Jacks baseball park, behind My Museum.
This is a very nice childrens activity museum. There are about seven theme areas like health care, kitchen, tree house, etc. Each has several activities for kids of different ages. It is well staffed and very user friendly.
Wonderful place for children to just be children. The staff is nice, cheery and helpful. The fire trucks, ambulance, slides, golf and tractors are great. I wish there was a door at the entrance in addition to the door that goes out to the street though. Its probably a fire safety thing. The dark unlit area under the boat or the tree is not good because its hard to find your kids in the dark.. Not a fan of the bubble machine. Kids fall on it, make a mess, and I cut my hand on it. But above all, this place is well worth your time and your money. A kid can be a kid!! And thats soooo important! :)
My daughter (age 18 mo as of writing this review) LOVES this museum. As soon as we arrived here, we got a membership because the Youth Museum is the perfect environment for children to interact, explore, and learn something new. We come about twice a week. I highly recommend a membership if you live in the area and have young children.
Great place for the little ones
Its a good place for kids to teach them things. Love the crafts. I do think they could work to maybe have o.e or two things that can be rotated or changed like every other season or year.
Fun for kids 2 - 12! However, I think this place should charge much less--or nothing--for adults (seeing as how this is a place for children). Also, they could use more physical donations or updated items, because many of their toys, clothes, and activities are outdated/worn out. It would also be a more popular place if they would expand and maybe add a bit more stuff for the older kids to enjoy. Some ideas include a ball pit, trampoline(s), a small rock climbing area, rope climbing, a drawing/coloring area... Or other things.
Awesome place for young children. The kids had a blast. Cant wait to have our sons birthday party here.
This place rocks. My 3 kids absolutely love it. There is a creation station in the front. Then there is a mini golf and tree fort. Theres puppets, a stage and other play areas in the back. I highly recommend a season pass if you live in the area. You can bring guests if you have a season pass.
Small play areas, but my kid loved it.
Many indoor activities for children
A little bit small, but filled with things that kids love to do. If youre going to be living in the area for more than 6 months, definitely get the membership. Its worth it.
So cute and fun for kids! So much to do!
Great for little ones, awesome place for birthday parties.
Fun place for the kids to explore
Great time woth the boys there. They have mini golf. And different rooms and stiff for kids to climb on and interact with. Little hectic chasing them around feel like it would have been better going during the week when its less packed.
Great place, friendly staff. $2 only every first Tuesday of the month.
We had a birthday party there last week. Staff was great but there was a miscommunication between the staff person that booked the event and the one in charge of the event. The former claimed goody bags were included and the latter stated that was not the case. No point in arguing the day off the event but if I had to do it again, I would confirm the terms in writing.
Great place for the little ones to be in their element. Friendly staff too!
Excellent children’s museum. Small, but a little something for everyone. Mini golf, farm, kitchen, ambulance, fire station, kids atm, dress up and stage, as well as crafts! Our 4 and 7 year old were entertaining for hours.
Great for kids 2-10ish. Seems small, but the kids can easily play here for two hours and not get bored. The staff is attentive and the place is very clean. I don’t know why people complain about the price, it’s comparable to other indoor playgrounds, but more varied in playable activities. Now, LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THEIR MEMBERSHIPS. For a very reasonable $100, you get a family yearly membership. Drop in for their music singalongs, tiny Zumbini, or other weekly activities.
I LOVED the three years my family and I have participated in MY Museums activities, and our annual membership was worth it. Tots through early childhood will enjoy the variety of hands-on activities and exhibits. My 4 year old especially enjoyed art days- and of course the pretend kitchen was a big hit. I would highly recommend this museum for parents of younger kids if you live near the Monterey area. Currently they offer a $2 Tuesdays special which is a great way to try it out before you purchase a membership, which is well worth the cost.
My daughter loves visiting here, so much fun exploring and learning through play
This was a great place to spend the day with young children. It was interactive, clean and super affordable. You can truly spend all day there.
Wonderful place to take kids for fun with some learning and exploration thrown in.
Nice place to let your kids run around and have fun.
Nice place for kids. Special event attended was fancy nancy tea party. Very nice. Enjoyed it very much
Great place for children I would say 9 years old and younger
Amazing place to take the kiddos! Many interactive exhibits to get their little minds working and learning in a play atmosphere. My daughter is 6 and extremely interested in how things work. This place nurtures childrens natural curiosity and creativity, with guidance from the amazing staff. Parents are free to explore side by side with their little ones, or let them go and watch them get excited by learning!
It is a nice little museum. We took our 4 year old son who wasnt ready to leave even after spending 5 hours there.
Great for kid between 18months and 4 years old. Depending of the interest of your child you may stay between 1h to 2h but I doubt more. Very clean and staff that looks happy to work!
My 4 year old loves this place. So many different things to play with, he loves the tractor, the ambulance and the fire truck. Perfect place for a birthday party.
I bring the kids I nanny for here and they have a great time every time! We love the arts and crafts center as well!
Good fun for kids. Educational
Amazing place to take our daughter and let her get away from a screen and just play!!
We had our daughTera 4th birthday here and it was awesome. The customer service was really good. We were able to have it after hours which included our party only. We also got a year membership with the party. We go on a regular. It definitely wipes my kids out.
Very creative museum for kids. Great hands on exhibits. Fun, plus a neat learning experience. Kids love it.
My 2 and 4 year old kids love it here!! We bought a membership and we are so glad we did. They enjoy going to the classes too.
Great place!
My kids practically grew up here. They love it! The creation station is the best.
My kids absolutely love coming here, and for good reason too. The staff is very friendly and everything they have here seems very well kept and clean all the time.
A wonderful place to visit with small kids. Plenty of hands on, clever exhibits designed for kids. The moment we walked in, the kids were totally involved with the displays.
Awesome place thank you!!!!
Just attend a birthday and my daughter love it, especially the Art and craft section.
Fantastic place to host a young childs birthday party. My niece had her 6th bday party here. The kids that attended had a blast. They give a room and allow you to set it up with your own food, cake, drinks etc. Fun and educational.
Very kool. Worth the money. Will go again!
My 3 and 6 years old loves this place
Excellent. My grandkids love it especially the craft area.
A great place for younger kids to play and explore for a morning or afternoon.
Great place. Lots of kids attractions, clean, new, fair price. Kids love it
Great place for kids 2-8
My son used to and my daughter now loves the My Museum. However, the last few years the place has degraded and smells filthy. Every area needs a deep cleaning and disinfecting. For the fees youd think they could keep the place up.
Perfect for a rainy day. My toddler entertains himself, and learns to interact with an environment created specifically for his age.
The place is great for the little ones
My kids love this place. It is a great dreary day attraction.
If youre living here this would be a great place to take your kids one or twice a week with a membership pass.
Its a fun local childrens museum with lots to do for young children. The staff is very friendly.
Great place to drop off kids to play and learn
Loved it!
Súper cute, kept our 16month old entertained for a while
Great place for lil kinder & Elementary children
