Cinemark Monterey 13

When with the folks, this is the main place we go to watch a movie in the cinema. When seeing the second DUMB AND DUMBER movie, it was a really young, restless, disruptive crowd. I get irritated when either kids or adults are talking or jumping up and down in their seat, or not sitting still, or just making really bad noises. Isnt the point of going to see a movie in the cinema to leave the distractions behind? Yes!!! Which is also why I DO NOT GO to the movies that much anymore.Mainly, mostly also sitting next to a kid and the movie is one the kid shouldnt be watching in the first place.

Nice price and very clean theater.

Worst popcorn ever. 12.85 for med popcorn and small water. Popcorn was crumbs. You are allowed only small purse, Im sure people were sneaking in edible snacks. Easy fix. Decent snacks at fair price. Everyone wins.

Affordable matinees. Comfortable seats. Shopping at all the popular spots 10 feet away. Also very close to lots of affordable motels. Monterey is the perfect affordable getaway

CRAB FEST IS BACK AT RED LOBSTER

I gave it three stars because its basically your average movie theater. Service is fine and the theaters/facilities are fine. Happy to go there when theres a movie I wanna see.

I went to see the new Star Wars with my family, I loved the seating and snacks. The only minor issue was the messy line for the snacks and drinks, it wasn’t even a line, it was just a big group of people standing there. Otherwise, the theater is excellent, I highly recommend it!

The theatre was clean & the plush leather chairs were comfortable! They do need to prevent people from smoking/vaping weed though! Just a suggestion!

Watched Star Wars recently- was waiting around to see if there was a post-credit scene. I think I waited too long, because a girl came in and started cleaning up. Dont think she saw me before she started yelling. Not gonna lie, think shed be cute if she cleaned up. Showers were filthy though. The lobster was cold and too salty.

Great customer service great sitting area fantastic movie. My son and I look forward to this for a long time and it was nothing short of the best theater was clean easy access well-lit and give me popcorn at. I was able to drink my coffee I was very comfortable my seats my son had his kids pack even though hes 24 LOL we have fun were going to do it again soon Summers here and were going to go to that theater again definitely.

Excellent customer service, large wonderful selection of snacks and drinks, best of all very comfortable seats with leg room. You also get to reserve the seat/s you want.

Older seats than most Cinemarks today, self-reclining (not motorized) not plush but comfortable. Couldnt reserve seats online through the App or the web site, had to go there to get advance tickets, but they did have reserved seats. Kids tickets for our mid-week evening show were only $8.25 or something like that ($12.50 at our Cinemarks in the Bay Area).

Great movie teather. It is next to Monterey Shopping center. They hv just upgraded the seats and have faux leather seat which are more comfortable.

Friendly staff, but strangely set up. There is an assembly line type of set up, but that leads to a build up and congestion instead of people just being able to get what they want and paying. Also, the theater is split for right and left, but the mens and womens are on opposite sides of the theater. So, if you have to get up in the middle of the movie (for yourself or child) and arent on the correct side for the bathroom you need, you have to go all the way around their strange set up for getting concessions to the other side of the theater.

Great place for family fun or date night.

Its fine, a nice theater with coffee, ice cream and the usual munchies.

It was really great, I like how they assign the seating now that way you know where youll be seated and its guaranteed.

The seats have been upgraded but the place is still a pigsty. You can go into a theater right after one of the cleaning crews goes in and still find a buffets worth of food in seats, cupholders, and on the floor. Back to the seats- why would you get cozier seats but still make them share elbow space? Did you pick up on the idea that people are willing to pay more for better seats but not want to give up the thrill of cramming us in like sardines? Luckily it doesnt matter because most people apparently have the good sense to go to a theater that isnt a dumpster on the inside. According to my wife the womens bathroom floor is basically covered in a slimy layer of old urine, so thats a plus if thats what youre into. The rest of the building is also sticky, but I think that has something to do with there only being two bathrooms with each gender separated to a different wing of the building. In the left wing but you gotta go to the bathroom? Hope youre not a female or youre gonna have to walk all the way around the concession stands, brave your way across the sticky swamp carpets, and make it to the right wing with the female restrooms. Enjoy the fine ammonia finished floor. Decent screens and sound tho.

Great place to take the grandkids

Ive been supporting and going to this theater since I was a kid. Truly love the location and the access to the theater from the mall or visa versa. Unfortunately my last visit was quite unpleasant. Bought two tickets for a current showing, and upon entering to be directed to where our movie is playing one of the employees abruptly stopped us, stating that no backpacks were allowed inside the theater. The interesting part is, is that the backpack my boyfriend was wearing was a small to medium size and only had minimal items. The theater refused to let us watch our movie, unless we put our backpack back in our vehicle. The worst thing was, is that we rode to the theater on a motorcycle so there was no safe place to put our bag. We politely asked if they would be willing to keep our bag behind the counter, and we even told them that we were more than willing to let them search it. However, they wouldnt have it. As we were discussing our issue of not having a vehicle to put our bag in, several people mainly women with large purses were being allowed into the theater without any issue. Even though a handful of people with purses were much larger than the one we had. After all ours was a small moutain biking camelback. It was just unfortunate that we werent informed on this before already purchasing our tickets. And its quite a bummer that the theater does not offer any solution to mitigate the bag issue at hand.A suggestion would be to installing lockers to put larger scaled bags inside, or just searching everyone who has a bag with them?Interestingly enough, we had gone to the same theater just a month before this visit, with the same exact backpack and we had any issues whatsoever....Will not be visiting this theater again. Their rules are biased and quite unfair. Monterey 13 needs to fix their policies to accommodate everyone.

Saw Downton Abby on the BIG SCREEN, IT WAS MAGICAL!

Cinemark is a chain establishment, and provides a consistent experience. The facility was clean and well staffed. The entertainment options for movies were up-to-date. The non movie entertainment was a little lacking as there is no arcade or bar at this location. However as a customer my experience was pleasent.

Neat clean. Customer service was excellent and couldnt get enough of the popcorn and drink.

Medium quality...will need a remodel upgrade soon.

It’s a great place I went to this movie theater for my whole like and this is the only one I ever went to and the employees are always so nice and respectful in my opinion this is the best place to watch a movie

Good cinema limited action movies.

I used the ear phones for the hearing impaired and was surprised theres was a narrator. I kinda liked it. Looking forward to trying them again.

Very nice little theater. It is a multiplex. Self serve food area was fast and easy, lots to choose room. Nice evening out for not that much money.

Nice set of theaters clean well maintained. Prices are reasonable as is the arrangement for a matinee. This election is good and they trying not to drag out films on long runs in order to accommodate a greater variety. One nice thing is they try to accommodate special events like older films, and classics

30 minutes of really bad commercials! Make sure to arrive late so you dont waste your time and skip the brainwash.

Waiting in line for well over 10 mins with only one ticket counter open. 2nd counter finally opened up and instead of taking next in line, allowed everyone behind us to start forming a new line and cut in front of us.

Seat need to be redone very uncomfortable..seat rows are to close together. Person behind me keeps moving and kicks my seat all through the movie..didnt mind to much cause it was a comedy, but if it was a horror movie I would screamed at them!! Need to upgrade badly! Get with the D-box people!!

Decent facility but needs modern upgrades like ticket kiosks, reserved seating .Ive noticed some of the screens need to be cleaned or replaced

Took my daughter to watch a movie...it was very nice and clean.

All was great except the handicap restroom needed a bit of TLC. Smelled like old urine.

Bathrooms at opposite end of theater... Need to walk to other side, say, for the mens... Otherwise alright. Good sound, decent theater. Front staff not personable, concessions staff great. Have candy selection like its a Jelly Belly (dont know what I mean). Okay theater.

Always enjoy attending movies at this theater. Lots of seating and great snack-bar. Very competitive pricing. A bargain compared to many other theaters. Layout of restroom facilities is a bit of a puzzle with mens and womens on opposite sides of building.

It doesnt out-perform or do any worse than your average movie theater. The seats are relatively comfortable, ticket and snack prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly. Best thing to do is go earlier in the day to skip the crowds, and if you are going to be watching a showing that you expect to be crowded and want to get snacks, plan on arriving 15 minutes before the official movie start time. Otherwise trailers and ads usually take 18 after the official start time.

This place is just fine. Same too expensive popcorn and soda. It seemed like they were mostly concerned with signing everyone in line up for their loyalty program than selling tickets. One guy at the desk and the line got really long. I got there early and barely made it in before it started. It was fairly clean and comfortable.

Its your usual cinemark theater. Its clean and if all you care is to watch a movie, its good enough. Ticketing is on the outside and once you go in its the concessions with a few tables and chairs. We were on theater 13 and thats big but Im not sure if thats XD but that side only have womens restrooms and 2 single unisex restrooms.

This movie theater is pretty great. The staff here are friendly and hard working. During midnight releases of movies like star wars, everything is very organized and quick.

Clean, comfortable seats. Only downside is 5he Male and female bathrooms are on opposite wings of the building, so if your movie is on the wrong side you have to cross the whole theatre to use it.

Theatre good. Concession good. Prices high. The people are not helpful. Example..you have to use your phone to get rewards. If you forget no one asks you. Same for concession.. I go quite a bit but never get anything.

Such a strange set up for concession stands everything is seperate yet you cant purchase anything separately you have to go to one of two sides but typically only one side is open. Despite the side you end up on the odds of someone in your party having to walk to the opposite side of the lobby are high because the mens and womens bathrooms are on opposite sides and your movie is on one side or the other. Ive been here many times and every time I feel like Im going out of my way to do normal movie theatre actions. The staff is hit and miss some are awesome, make me laugh, and feel very welcome while others seem unable to handle guest intetaction when a concern arrises.

I’d like to say that this place is an absolute pleasure due to great people like Marty; one of the managers here.

Surprisingly Great Starbucks inside

Its a movie theater all right. They play the newest stuff. Arcade is a bit of a let down, and concessions are always pricey, but youre there for a movie. And you will see that movie.

Compared to the dinky little movie theater that used to be at Del Monte, this is like a world-class cinema Not only do they offer about 4-5x more movies than the old theater did, but it now features the comfy seats and better stadium-style seating that allows you to see over everyone in front of you, as well as upgraded sound systems and the new HD digital screens that really make the movies pop.They offer discounted tickets certain days of the week at certain times, which is definitely worth looking into—or if you can get them in advance, the best deal is the two pack of tickets from Costco which are good for any movie and save you a few bucks a pop!

Fairly standard bigger theater. Only weird thing is the mens and womens bathrooms are separated, one on one side of the building and the other on the far side.

Its our go-to place for the movies. We had popcorn, coke. Lots of butter (a treat), the coke was syrupy not watery. The theater was comfortable, no lines, temperature was cozy, people were polite and orderly. Sound perfect, not too loud, not too quiet. Well be back!

Nice theatre and nice people here. Usual crowding on the weekend as you would expect with movie releases and such. Plenty of parking and since its at the mall, shopping and eating are super convenient. I recommend this place, so check it out!

Pretty good theatre. Good deals, facility, comfy, safe and lots of parking. Theatres sometimes are not cleaned (right now in a theatre where the movie hasnt started and there are food containers in a bunch of empty chairs from the last movie). Overall good for the area.

I am over 6 ft tall, and not all of the theaters have the same seating. Im not sure what more I can say other than there are good theaters and some very uncomfortable seating...

Realized I didnt have my phone as soon as I got home.The manager was on it.They told me they found it.when I got back to retrieve it. Wrong Phone.the girls in the front rechecked with manager, in the meantime my phone was turned in. they were great, sincerely caring. They found it in the dark, I have a black case. Great place to watch a movie

We see movies weekly at Cinemark 13 and enjoy it. Once they upgrade the seats, I will give it 5 stars.

Movie theater is good, but they havw weird no entrance with bags policy. So you will be unable to enter after shopping.

WARNING! They enforce the no outside drink policy. Quite disappointing. All I want is my Starbucks from a barista that knows how to make it right.

The new purse rule 12x12x6 will only create a lot of angry customers. You want to search my bag I have no problem, but if you want to deny me entrance after buying a ticket I have a problem. Not to mention the rate of car break-ins will rise when thieves watch for a woman/man putting a bag/purse in their car.

An older, good multiscreen theater in need of an upgrade in terms of decor and seating. Excellent selection in terms of concessions (Dominos, Starbucks, Breyers) but chronically understaffed. Very friendly staff. Well kept restrooms. Lots of parking in 2 available parking garages. At the edge of Del Monte Center, with good shopping and dining opportunities.
